< Mathayo 15 >

1 Eka jo-Farisai gi Jopuonj chik moko nobiro ir Yesu koa Jerusalem mi openje niya,
Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
2 “Angʼo momiyo jopuonjreni ketho chike gi timbe mag jodongo? Ok giluok lwetgi kapok gichiemo!”
“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.”
3 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Angʼo momiyo uketho chik Nyasaye nikech wach chikeu gi timbeu?
Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 Nimar Nyasaye nowacho ni, ‘Luor wuonu gi minu’kendo ni, ‘Ngʼato angʼata mokwongʼo wuon kata min nyaka negi.’
For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
5 Un to uwacho ni ka ngʼato owacho ne wuon kata ne min ni, ‘Kony moro amora ma dine uyudo koa kuoma en mich mowal ne Nyasaye,’
But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is a gift devoted to God,’
6 to ngʼama kamano koro ogony kuom ‘luoro wuon gi min’ gi michneno. Kamano umiyo wach Nyasaye bedo maonge teko nikech wach kitu gi timbeu.
he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
7 Un joma wuondoregi! Isaya ne ni kare kane okoro wach kuomu kama:
You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you:
8 “‘Jogi paka mana gi dhogi kende, to chunygi bor koda.
‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.
9 Gilama kayiem nono; to gik ma gipuonjo gin mana chike mag dhano.’”
They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”
10 Yesu noluongo oganda ire kendo mowachonegi niya, “Chikuru itu mondo uwinj tiend wach.
Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand.
11 Gima donjo e dho ngʼato ok mi odok mogak, to mana gima wuok koa e dhoge ema miyo odoko mogak.”
A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it.”
12 Eka jopuonjre nobiro ire mopenje niya, “Bende ingʼeyo ni jo-Farisai ne ochwanyore kane giwinjo wachni?”
Then the disciples came to Him and said, “Are You aware that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 Nodwoko niya, “Yien moro amora ma Wuonwa manie polo ok opidho ibiro pudh oko gi tiendene.
But Jesus replied, “Every plant that My heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by its roots.
14 Wegiuru aweya; gin jotecho ma muofni. Ongʼere ni ka ngʼama muofu otelo ne muofu wadgi to nyaka gilingʼre ei bugo giduto kargi ji ariyogo.”
Disregard them! They are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”
15 Petro nowacho niya, “Nyiswae tiend ngerono.”
Peter said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 To Yesu nopenjogi niya, “Kare un bende wach pod ok donjnu?
“Do you still not understand?” Jesus asked.
17 Donge ungʼeyo ni gimoro amora madonjo e dhok dhi nyaka e ich bangʼe owuok oko mar del?
“Do you not yet realize that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then is eliminated?
18 To gik mawuok e dhok aa e chuny, kendo gin ema gimiyo ngʼato doko ‘mogak.’
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man.
19 Nikech chuny ema gik maricho kaka; paro maricho, nek, terruok, chode, kuo, hango wach, gi ketho nying ji wuokie.
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander.
20 Magi e gik mamiyo ngʼato bedo ‘mogak.’ To chiemo gi lwedo ma ok olwoki ok mi odok ‘mogak.’”
These are what defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile him.”
21 Ka noa kanyo, Yesu nodhi nyaka e gwengʼ mar Turo gi Sidon.
Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.
22 Chi Kanaan moro mane odak machiegni gi kanyo nobiro ire kaywagore niya, “Ruoth, Wuod Daudi, kecha! Nyara nigi jachien marach kendo osandore malit.”
And a Canaanite woman from that region came to Him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is miserably possessed by a demon.”
23 To Yesu ne ok odwoke kata wach achiel. Omiyo jopuonjre nobiro ire mojiwe niya, “Riembe odhi, nikech osiko kogoyo koko bangʼwa.”
But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 Nodwoko niya, “Ne oora mana ne rombe molal mag Israel kende.”
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 To dhakono nobiro mogoyo chonge piny e nyime, kawacho niya, “Ruoth, yie ikonya.”
The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 To nodwoko niya, “Ok en gima kare kawo chiemb nyithindo mondo idir ne guogi.”
But Jesus replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 Dhakono nodwoke niya, “Mano en adier Ruoth, to kata guogi bende chamo ngʼinjo molwar piny koa e mesa mar ruodhgi.”
“Yes, Lord,” she said, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Eka Yesu nodwoko niya, “Dhako, in gi yie maduongʼ ndi! Kwayoni osechopi.” Kendo nyare nochango kochakore sano.
“O woman,” Jesus answered, “your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
29 Yesu noa kanyo koluwo tie Nam Galili. Eka noidho malo mobet piny e bath got.
Moving on from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up on a mountain and sat down.
30 Oganda maduongʼ nobiro ire, kendo negikelone rongʼonde, muofni, pudhe, momni gi ji matuo mamoko mangʼeny, mine giketogi e tiende kendo nochangogi.
Large crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and laid them at His feet, and He healed them.
31 Ji nohum kane gineno ka momni wuoyo, pudhe ngima, rongʼonde wuotho, kendo muofni neno, kendo negipako Nyasach Israel.
The crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Yesu noluongo jopuonjrene ire mowachonegi niya, “Akecho jogi nikech koro gisebedo koda kae kuom ndalo adek to gionge gi gima digicham. Ok adwar mondo gidhi ka gidenyo, nono to kech nyalo goyogi piny e yo.”
Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I have compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may faint along the way.”
33 Jopuonjrene nodwoke niya, “Ere kuma dwayudie makati e dier thim manyalo pidho oganda maduongʼ machal kama?”
The disciples replied, “Where in this desolate place could we find enough bread to feed such a large crowd?”
34 Yesu nopenjogi niya, “Un gi makati adi?” Negidwoke niya, “Abiriyo kende gi rech matindo manok.”
“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
35 Nowachone ogandago mondo obed piny e lum.
And He instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground.
36 Bangʼ mano nokawo makati abiriyogo gi rechgo, kendo kane osegoyo erokamano, nongʼingogi bangʼe omiyogi jopuonjrene, mondo opog ji.
Taking the seven loaves and the fish, He gave thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
37 Negichiemo giduto mi giyiengʼ. Bangʼ chiemo jopuonjre nochoko ngʼinjo mag chiemo mane ji ochamo oweyo moromo okepe abiriyo.
They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
38 Kar romb joma nochiemo duto ne gin alufu angʼwen, ka ok okwan mon gi nyithindo.
A total of four thousand men were fed, in addition to women and children.
39 Bangʼ ka Yesu nosegonyo oganda odhi, nodonjo e yie mi odhi e gwengʼ mar Magadan.
After Jesus had dismissed the crowds, He got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.
