1 E kindeno Yesu noyudo kadho e kind puothe mag cham chiengʼ Sabato. To jopuonjrene nodenyo, omiyo negichako jako wi ngano moko mochiek mondo gicham.
Around that time Jesus was walking through fields of grain on the Sabbath day. His disciples were hungry so they started to pick ears of grain and eat them.
2 Ka jo-Farisai noneno mano, negiwachone niya, “Neye! Jopuonjreni timo gima chik ok oyie mondo gitim chiengʼ Sabato.”
When the Pharisees saw this they said to Jesus, “Look at your disciples—they're doing what isn't allowed on the Sabbath!”
3 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Pok ne usomo gima Daudi notimo chiengʼ ma en kaachiel gi jogo mane ni kode ka kech ne kayogi?
But Jesus told them, “Haven't you read what David did when he and his men were hungry?
4 Donge nodonjo e od Nyasaye, kendo en kaachiel gi joma ne ni kode, negichamo makati ma nosepwodhi moket tenge, ma chik ne ok oyienegi mondo gitim, makmana jodolo kende
He went into the house of God, and he and his men ate the sacred bread that they weren't allowed to eat since it's only for the priests.
5 Koso pok usomo e Chik ni chiengʼ Sabato, jodolo manie hekalu doko mogak odiechiengʼno, to ok kwan-gi kaka joketho?
Haven't you read in the law that on the Sabbath day the priests in the Temple break the Sabbath but are not considered guilty?
6 To awachonu ni nitie ngʼato ka maduongʼ moloyo hekalu.
However, I tell you that someone is here who is greater than the Temple!
7 Ka dine bed ni usengʼeyo tiend wach mawacho ni, ‘Gima adwaro en ni ukech joweteu to ok ni uchiwna misango,’to dine ok ungʼado bura ne joma onge ketho.
If you'd known the meaning of this Scripture, ‘I want mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn't have condemned an innocent man.
8 Nikech Wuod Dhano en Ruodh Sabato.”
For the Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 Kane omedo dhi nyime koa kanyo, nodhi nyaka ei sinagogi,
Then Jesus left and went into their synagogue.

A man was there with a crippled hand. “Does the law allow healing on the Sabbath?” they asked him, looking for a reason to accuse him.
11 Nowachonegi niya, “Ka ngʼato kuomu nigi rombo kendo rombono olwar ei bur chiengʼ Sabato, donge diywaye igole oko?
“Suppose you have a sheep and it falls into a hole in the ground on the Sabbath. Don't you grab hold of it and pull it out?” Jesus asked them.
12 To dhano donge lich moloyo rombo nyadi mangʼeny! Kuom mano, chik oyie mondo otim maber chiengʼ Sabato.”
“Don't you think a human being is worth much more than a sheep? So yes, you are allowed to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Eka nowachone ngʼatno niya, “Rie lweti,” mi norieye, kendo lwete nochango chuth, mana kaka komachielo.
Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man held out his hand, and it was healed, just as healthy as the other hand.
14 To jo-Farisai nowuok modhi kendo negichako chano kaka digineg Yesu.
But the Pharisees went out and plotted how to kill Jesus.
15 Kaka Yesu nongʼeyo chenrogino, nowuok kanyo. Ji mangʼeny noluwe, kendo nochango ji duto mane tuo,
Knowing this, Jesus left, with large crowds following him. He healed all of them,
16 kosiemogi ni kik gihul ni en ngʼa.
but instructed them not to tell people who he was.
17 Mano notimore mondo gima nowachi gi dho Janabi Isaya, niya,
This fulfilled what Isaiah the prophet said:

“This is my servant whom I've chosen, The one I love, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit on him, And he will tell the foreigners what's right.

He won't argue, he won't shout out, And nobody will hear his voice in the streets.
20 Kata obedo ni onenore kaka odundu mayom yom to ok notur, kendo kata obedo ni oliel ka taya ma mirimiri to ok notho, nyaka chop otel ne adiera mi lochi.
He won't break a damaged reed, And he won't extinguish a smoking wick, Until he has proved that his judgment is right,
21 Ogendini biro keto genogi e nyinge.”
And foreigners will put their hope in him.”
22 Eka negikelone ngʼat man-gi jachien kendo ma muofu bende mamomo; eka Yesu nochange, momiyo koro nonyalo wuoyo kendo neno.
Then a man was brought to Jesus who was demon-possessed and blind and dumb. Jesus healed him, so that the dumb man could speak and see.
23 Ji duto nohum kendo nowacho niya, “Dibed ni ma e Wuod Daudi?”
All the crowds were amazed, and asked, “Could this really be the son of David?”
24 To ka jo-Farisai nowinjo wachno, negiwacho niya, “Ngʼatni golo jochiende gi teko mar Belzebub, ruodh jochiende.”
But when the Pharisees heard this, they replied, “This man can only throw out demons through the power of Beelzebub, the chief of demons!”
25 Yesu nongʼeyo parogi mi nowachonegi niya, “Pinyruoth moro amora mopogore owuon nyaka kethre, kendo dala moro amora kata ot mantiere pogruok ok nyal chungʼ.
Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus told them, “Any kingdom that is divided against itself will be destroyed. No town or household that is divided against itself can stand.
26 Ka Satan riembo Satan to mano nyiso ni en gi pogruok kende owuon. Koro ere kaka pinyruodhe nyalo chungo?
If Satan drives out Satan, then he's divided against himself—so how could his kingdom stand?
27 Ka dipo ni ariembo jochiende gi teko mar Belzebub, to jou to kara gologi gi teko mar ngʼa? Emomiyo ginibed jongʼadnu bura.
If I'm throwing out demons in the name of Beelzebub, in whose name are your people throwing out demons? Your own people prove you're wrong!
28 To ka ariembo jochiende gi teko mar Roho Maler to kare pinyruoth Nyasaye osebironu.
But if I'm throwing out demons through the power of the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you!
29 “Koso, ere kaka ngʼato nyalo monjo od ngʼat maratego mi omaye gige odhigo, ka ok otweyo ngʼatno mokwongo? Kosetimo kamano eka dohedhre mar yako gik moko e odno.
Can you enter a strong man's house and take his belongings unless you tie him up first? If you do that then you can take everything in his house.
30 “Ngʼat ma ok ni koda kedo koda, kendo ngʼat ma ok konya choko ji, keyo ji.
Those who are not with me are against me, and those who do not gather together with me do the opposite: they are scattering.
31 Emomiyo awachonu ni richo gi ayany moyanygo Nyasaye duto nowe ne ji, to ngʼato angʼata mowuoyo marach kuom Roho Maler ok nowene richone.
That's why I'm telling you that every sin and blasphemy you commit will be forgiven, except blasphemy against the Spirit which won't be forgiven.
32 Ngʼato angʼata mowacho wach moro marach kuom Wuod Dhano nowene, to ngʼato angʼata mowuoyo marach kuom Roho Maler ok nowene richone, e tiengʼni kata e tiengʼ mabiro. (aiōn )
Those who say something against the Son of man will be forgiven, but those who say something against the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven, neither in this life nor the next. (aiōn )
33 “Los yien obed maber eka olembe biro bedo maber, kata ket yath obed marach kendo olembene biro bedo marach, nimar yath ingʼeyo gi kit olemo monyago.
Either decide that the tree is good, and its fruit is good, or decide that the tree is bad and its fruit is bad—for the tree is known by its fruit.
34 Un koth thuonde fu-gi, ere kaka un ma un jomaricho kamano unyalo wacho gima ber? Nimar gik mopongʼo chuny ngʼato ema wuok e dho ngʼato.
You viper's brood, how can you who are evil say anything good? For your mouth simply says what your mind is busy thinking about.
35 Ngʼat maber golo gik mabeyo mawuok kuom ber mokano e iye, to ngʼat marach golo gik maricho mawuok kuom rach mokano e iye.
A good person brings out good from their store of good things, and an evil person brings out evil from their store of evil things.
36 To awachonu ni chiengʼ ngʼado bura ji duto biro dwoko wach kuom weche manono ma gisewacho ka ok giparo matut.
I tell you, people will have to account for every careless thing they say on the Day of Judgment.
37 Nimar kuom wecheni iwuon miwacho ema ibiro ketigo thuolo kendo kuom wecheni iwuon miwacho ema ibiro ngʼadonigo bura.”
For what you say will either vindicate you or condemn you.”
38 Eka jo-Farisai moko gi jopuonj chik nowachone niya, “Japuonj wadwaro neno hono mitimo kaka ranyisi.”
Then some of the religious teachers and Pharisees came to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to show us a miraculous sign.”
39 To nodwokogi niya, “Tiengʼ ma timbene richo kendo mamono manyo ranyisi mar hono! To ok bi miye moro amora makmana ranyisi mar janabi Jona.
“Evil people who don't trust in God are the ones who look for a miraculous sign. The only sign they will be given is the sign of the prophet Jonah,” Jesus told them.
40 Nimar mana kaka Jona ne ni ei rech marangʼongo kuom ndalo adek odiechiengʼ gotieno, e kaka Wuod Dhano bende biro bedo ei chuny lowo kuom ndalo adek odiechiengʼ gotieno.
“In the same way Jonah was in the belly of a huge fish for three days and three nights, the Son of man will lie in the earth for three days and three nights.
41 Jo-Nineve biro chungʼ e bura kaachiel gi tiengʼni kendo nongʼadnegi bura kaka joketho; nimar gin ne giweyo richo kane giwinjo yalo mar Jona, to sani koro nitie ngʼato maduongʼ moloyo Jona.
The people of Nineveh will rise in the judgment together with this generation and they will condemn it because they repented in response to Jonah's message—and as you see, there's someone greater than Jonah here!
42 Ruoth ma dhako mar piny ma milambo nochungʼ chiengʼ bura kaachiel gi tiengʼni kendo nongʼadne bura kaka jaketho, nimar nobiro koa e tungʼ piny kuma bor mondo owinj rieko Solomon, to sani koro nitie ngʼato ka maduongʼ moloyo Solomon.
The Queen of the South will be raised in the judgment together with this generation and will condemn it because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon—and as you see, there's someone greater than Solomon here!
43 “Ka jachien marach owuok kuom ngʼato, owuotho kuonde motwo koni gi koni, komanyo kama doyudie yweyo, to ok oyudi.
When an evil spirit leaves someone, it wanders through deserted places looking for rest, and finds nowhere to stay.
44 Eka owacho ni, ‘Abiro dok e ot mane aaye.’ Ka ochopo to oyudo ka odno iye ninono, koyweye maler kendo ochan maber.
So it says, ‘I'll go back to the place I left,’ and when it returns it finds the place empty, all clean and tidy.
45 Eka odok kendo oomo jochiende abiriyo mamoko maricho moloye, kendo gibiro gidonj mi gidag kanyo. Bangʼe achien ngima ngʼatno bedo marach moloyo kaka nochal mokwongo. Kamano e kaka biro timore ne tiengʼ marachni.”
Then it goes and brings back seven other spirits even more evil than it is, and it enters and lives there. So the person ends up worse than they were at the beginning. That's the way it will be with this evil generation.”
46 Kane Yesu pod wuoyo gi oganda mane ochokore, min-gi kaachiel gi owetene nochungʼ oko ka gidwaro wuoyo kode.
While he was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers arrived and stood outside, wanting to talk to him.
47 Ngʼat moro nowachone Yesu niya, “Minu gi oweteni ochungʼ oko gidwaro wuoyo kodi.”
Someone came and told him, “Look, your mother and brothers are outside, wanting to talk to you.”
48 Nodwoko ngʼatno niya, “Minwa to en ngʼa, koso owetena to gin ngʼa gini?”
“Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Jesus asked.
49 Eka nosiemone jopuonjrene kowacho niya, “Jogi e minwa gi owetena.
He pointed at his disciples, and said, “Look, they are my mother and my brothers!
50 Nimar ngʼato angʼata matimo dwaro mar Wuora manie polo e owadwa gi nyaminwa kod minwa.”
For those who do the will of my heavenly Father, they are my brother, sister, and mother!”
