< Mariko 9 >
1 Bangʼ mano Yesu nowachonegi niya, “Awachonu adier ni nitie jomoko mochungʼ buta ka ma ok nobil tho kapok gineno pinyruoth Nyasaye ka biro gi teko.”
And he said to them, Verily I say unto you, There are some of those standing here that shall not taste death until they shall have seen the kingdom of God come in power.
2 Bangʼ ndalo auchiel, Yesu nokawo Petro gi Jakobo kod Johana mi notelo mi gidhi ewi got malo, kama ne ginie kendgi maonge ngʼato. Kane gin kuno, kite nolokore ka gineno,
And after six days Jesus takes with [him] Peter and James and John, and takes them up on a high mountain by themselves apart. And he was transfigured before them:
3 mi lepe nolokore rachar marieny macharo wangʼ, nodoko rachar dherr maonge ngʼato angʼata e piny mangima mane nyalo luoko law mi rieny maler kamano.
and his garments became shining, exceeding white [as snow], such as fuller on earth could not whiten [them].
4 Kanyono, Elija gi Musa nothinyore e nyimgi kanyo, kendo ne giwuoyo gi Yesu.
And there appeared to them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5 Petro nowachone Yesu niya, “Rabi, bedowa kaeni en gima ber. We mondo wager hembe adek kae; achiel mari, achiel mar Musa, to machielo mar Elija.”
And Peter answering says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good that we should be here; and let us make three tabernacles, for thee one, and for Moses one, and for Elias one.
6 Ne ok ongʼeyo gima dowachi nikech luoro nogoyogi.
For he knew not what he should say, for they were filled with fear.
7 Bangʼ mano boche polo nobiro apoya moumogi, kendo dwol moro moa e boche polo nowacho niya, “Ma en Wuoda mahero, winjeuru!”
And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 Apoya nono kane pod gingʼicho, ne ok gichako gineno ngʼato kani kodgi makmana Yesu kende.
And suddenly having looked around, they no longer saw any one, but Jesus alone with themselves.
9 Kane oyudo gilor gia ewi got, Yesu nosiemogi ni kik giwachne ngʼato angʼata gima ne giseneno nyaka chop kinde ma Wuod Dhano nochier koa kuom joma otho.
And as they descended from the mountain, he charged them that they should relate to no one what they had seen, unless when the Son of man should be risen from among [the] dead.
10 Jopuonjre nokano wachni e chunygi, ka gipenjore e chunygi tiend “chier aa kuom joma otho.”
And they kept that saying, questioning among themselves, what rising from among [the] dead was.
11 Bangʼe negipenje niya, “Angʼo momiyo jopuonj chik wacho ni Elija nyaka bi mokwongo?”
And they asked him saying, Why do the scribes say that Elias must first have come?
12 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Kuom adiera, Elija nyaka kuong bi mondo olos gik moko duto odok kare. Koro to ere gimomiyo ondiki ni Wuod Dhano nyaka yud sand mathoth mi ji kwede?
And he answering said to them, Elias indeed, having first come, restores all things; and how is it written of the Son of man that he must suffer much, and be set at nought:
13 To awachonu ni Elija koro osebiro, kendo gisetimone gimoro amora mane gihero mana kaka ondiki kuome.”
but I say unto you that Elias also is come, and they have done to him whatever they would, as it is written of him.
14 Kane gidwogo ir jopuonjre mamoko, negineno oganda maduongʼ kolworogi kendo ka jopuonj Chik mino kodgi wach.
And when he came to the disciples he saw a great crowd around them, and scribes disputing against them.
15 To sano sano ka ji duto noneno Yesu, negiyil mi giringo ire mondo gimose.
And immediately all the crowd seeing him were amazed, and running to [him], saluted him.
16 Yesu nopenjogi niya, “Angʼo ma uminoe wach kodgi?”
And he asked them, What do ye question with them about?
17 Ngʼat moro e dier oganda nodwoke niya, “Japuonj, ne akeloni wuoda ma jachien marach opongʼo kendo oloko momo.
And one out of the crowd answered him, Teacher, I brought to thee my son, who has a dumb spirit;
18 E sa ma jachiendno donjo kuome to goye piny, buoyo wuok e dhoge, kendo omuodo lake mi dende tal. Ne akwayo jopuonjreni mondo oriemb jachiendni oko to ne otamogi.”
and wheresoever it seizes him it tears him, and he foams and gnashes his teeth, and he is withering away. And I spoke to thy disciples, that they might cast him out, and they could not.
19 Yesu nodwokogi kawacho niya, “Yaye, tiengʼ maonge gi yie ni, anabed kodu nyaka karangʼo? Keluru ane wuowino.”
But he answering them says, O unbelieving generation! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me.
20 Negikele to ka jachiendno noneno Yesu, nomiyo rawerano opodho kariere ka ja-ndulme mi nongʼielore e lowo amingʼa ka dhoge wuok buoyo.
And they brought him to him. And seeing him the spirit immediately tore him; and falling upon the earth he rolled foaming.
21 Yesu nopenjo wuon rawerano niya, “Osebedo kochal kama kinde maromo nade?” To en nodwoke niya, “Osebedo kamano nyaka oa e tin-ne.
And he asked his father, How long a time is it that it has been like this with him? And he said, From childhood;
22 Kendo kinde moko jachiendno osebedo ka chumbe ei mach kata e pi, mondo onege. Omiyo kinyalo timo gimoro to yie ikechwa kendo ikonywa.”
and often it has cast him both into fire and into waters that it might destroy him: but if thou couldst [do] anything, be moved with pity on us, and help us.
23 Yesu nowachone niya, “Ere gima omiyo iwacho ni, ‘Kinyalo?’ Gik moko duto nyalo timore ni ngʼat moyie.”
And Jesus said to him, The 'if thou couldst' is [if thou couldst] believe: all things are possible to him that believes.
24 Gikanyono wuon wuowino noywagore kawacho niya, “An gi yie, to konya nikech yiena orem.”
And immediately the father of the young child crying out said [with tears], I believe, help mine unbelief.
25 Kane Yesu oneno ka ji moko ringo biro kama gintie, nochiko jachien marachno kowacho niya, “In jachien ma ite odino kendo ma momoni, achiki ni aa kuome kendo kik ichak idonj kuome kendo.”
But Jesus, seeing that [the] crowd was running up together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 Jachiendno nokok gi dwol ma liyore mi nogoye piny kogwecho matek, bangʼe noa kuome. Noweyo wuowino mana ka gima otho, mi ji mangʼeny owacho niya, “Otho.”
And having cried out and torn [him] much, he came out; and he became as if dead, so that the most said, He is dead.
27 To Yesu nomako bad wuowino mokonye aa malo mochungʼ.
But Jesus, having taken hold of him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.
28 Kane Yesu osedonjo e ot, jopuonjrene nopenje kar kende niya, “Angʼo momiyo wan ne ok wanyal golo jachiendno?”
And when he was entered into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Wherefore could not we cast him out?
29 Nodwoko niya, “Jachien machal kama inyalo golo mana kuom lamo kod tweyo chiemo.”
And he said to them, This kind can go out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.
30 Negia kanyo mi gikadho e dier Galili, to Yesu ne ok dwar mondo ngʼato ongʼe kuma negintie,
And going forth from thence they went through Galilee; and he would not that any one knew it;
31 nikech nopuonjo jopuonjrene. Nowachonegi niya, “Wuod Dhano ibiro ndhogi mi keti e lwet ji. Gibiro nege, to bangʼ ndalo adek obiro chier.”
for he taught his disciples and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into men's hands, and they shall kill him; and having been killed, after three days he shall rise again.
32 To ne ok giwinjo tiend gimane onyisogi, to bende negiluor mar penje mondo gingʼe tiende.
But they understood not the saying, and feared to ask him.
33 Negichopo Kapernaum, kendo ka koro ne en e ot, nopenjogi niya, “Wach angʼo mane ugoyoe mbaka e yo?”
And he came to Capernaum, and being in the house, he asked them, Of what were ye reasoning by the way?
34 To jopuonjrene nolingʼ ma ok odwoke nikech e yo ne oyudo gigoyo mbaka ni en ngʼa kuomgi maduongʼ moloyo.
And they remained silent, for by the way they had been reasoning with one another who [was] greatest.
35 Ka koro Yesu nobedo piny, noluongo jopuonjrene apar gariyo ire mowachonegi niya, “Ka ngʼato dwaro ni mondo otel to nyaka odwokre chien mogik, mi obed jatij ji duto.”
And sitting down he called the twelve; and he says to them, If any one would be first, he shall be last of all, and minister of all.
36 Kosewacho kamano to nokawo nyathi matin mokete ochungʼ e nyim ji duto. Nomako lwet nyathino, kowachonegi niya,
And taking a little child he set it in their midst, and having taken it in his arms he said to them,
37 “Ngʼato angʼata morwako achiel kuom nyithindo matindogi e nyinga, orwaka An awuon, to bende ngʼato angʼata morwaka ok An ema orwaka, to orwako jal mane oora.”
Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my name, receives me; and whosoever shall receive me, does not receive me, but him who sent me.
38 Johana nowachone niya, “Japuonj, ne waneno ngʼato ka golo jochiende e nyingi, to ne watame mondo owe timo kamano nikech ne ok en achiel kuomwa.”
And John answered him saying, Teacher, we saw some one casting out demons in thy name, who does not follow us, and we forbad him, because he does not follow us.
39 To Yesu nowacho niya, “Kik utame nikech onge ngʼat manyalo timo hono e nyinga manyalo loko pache bangʼ thuolo manok mi owach gimoro marach kuoma,
But Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no one who shall do a miracle in my name, and be able soon [after] to speak ill of me;
40 nimar ngʼato angʼata ma ok mon kodwa en jakorwa.
for he who is not against us is for us.
41 Awachonu adier ni ngʼato angʼata mamiyou pi e okombe e nyinga, nikech un jo-Kristo pokne ok nobaye ngangʼ.
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in [my] name, because ye are Christ's, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
42 “To bende ka ngʼato omiyo jomatindo moyie kuomagi odonjo e richo, to dibed maber ka otwene pongʼ marangʼongo e ngʼute ma onyumego e nam.
And whosoever shall be a snare to one of the little ones who believe [in me], it were better for him if a millstone were hung about his neck, and he cast into the sea.
43 Ka lweti miyo idonjo e richo to ngʼade oko. Ber moloyo kidonjo e ngima ka ionge lweti moloyo kidhi gi lwetegi ariyo e gehena, [ (Geenna )
And if thy hand serve as a snare to thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having thy two hands to go away into hell, into the fire unquenchable; (Geenna )
44 kama “‘kute machamo ji ok thoe kendo mach bende ok thoe’].

45 To kapo ni tiendi ema teri e richo to ngʼade oko. Ber moloyo kidonjo e ngima kingʼol kar donjo e gehena gi tiende ariyo, [ (Geenna )
And if thy foot serve as a snare to thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life lame, than having thy two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire unquenchable; (Geenna )
46 kama “‘kute machamo ji ok thoe kendo mach bende ok thoe’].
[where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched].
47 To ka en wangʼi ema miyo itimo richo to lodhe oko. Ber moloyo kidonjo e pinyruoth Nyasaye gi wangʼ achiel kar bedo gi wenge ariyo to owiti e gehena, (Geenna )
And if thine eye serve as a snare to thee, cast it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire, (Geenna )
48 kama “‘kute machamo ji ok thoe, kendo mach bende ok thoe.’
where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.
49 Ngʼato ka ngʼato ibiro pwodho gi mach.
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 “Chumbi ber, to ka ndhathe orumo to ere kaka dichak imi obed gi ndhathe kendo? Beduru ka ndhath chumbi un uwegi, kendo beduru gi kwe ngʼato gi ngʼato.”
Salt [is] good, but if the salt is become saltless, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.
