1 Jo-Farisai gi jopuonj Chik moko ma noa Jerusalem nochokore but Yesu
And there were gathered unto Him the pharisees, and some of the scribes, from Jerusalem;
2 mi gineno ka jopuonjrene moko chiemo gi lwedo mochido, tiende ni lwedo ma ok olwoki e yor pwodhruok.
and when they saw some of his disciples eating with impure (that is, unwashed) hands, they found fault:
3 Jo-Farisai gi jo-Yahudi duto ok chiem kapok gilwoko lwetgi e yor pwodhruok, kaluwore gi kit kweregi machon.
for the pharisees, and indeed all the Jews, do not eat till they have washed their hands thoroughly, observing the tradition of the ancients.
4 Ka gia e chiro to ok ginyal chamo gimoro kapok gilwokore. Girito timbegi moko machon mathoth: kaka luoko okombe gi agulni, gi bakunde mag lowo gi birike.
And when they come from the market, they do not eat till they have washed. And there are many other things, which they have received to observe, as the washing of cups, and pots, and brass-vessels, and seats.
5 Kuom mano jo-Farisai gi jopuonj chik nopenjo Yesu niya, “Angʼo momiyo jopuonjreni ketho chikwa kod puonj mag kwerewa, ka gichiemo gi lwedo mochido?”
Then the pharisees and the scribes ask Him, Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, but eat without washing their hands?
6 Nodwokogi niya, “Isaya ne ni kare kane okoro wach kuomu un joma wuondoregi; mana kaka ondiki ni, “‘Jogi paka mana gi dhogi kende, to chunygi bor koda.
But He answered them, Well did Esaias prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me:
7 Gilama kayiem nono, to gik ma gipuonjo gin mana chike mag dhano.’
and in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the injunctions of men.
8 Useweyo Chike Nyasaye mi koro umako mana puonj ma kwereu machon noweyonu.”
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye retain the tradition of men, as the washings of pots and cups, and many other such like things.
9 Nowachonegi niya, “Un gi lony mathoth mar keto Chike Nyasaye tenge mondo urit puonju uwegi!
And ye expressly annul the commandment of God, that ye may retain your own tradition;
10 Nikech Musa nowacho ni, ‘Luor wuonu gi minu;’kendo ni, ‘Ngʼato angʼata mokwongʼo wuon kata min nyaka negi.’
for Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He that revileth father or mother, let him be put to death:
11 Un to uwacho ni ka ngʼato owacho ne wuon kata ne min ni, ‘Kony moro amora ma dine uyudo koa kuoma koro en Koban’ (tiende ni, mich mowal ne Nyasaye),
but ye say, If a man tell his father or mother, That which thou mightest be profited by from me is Corban, (that is, a gift to the temple) it sufficeth:
12 to ngʼama kamano koro ok uyiene mondo okony wuon kata min.
and so ye allow him to do nothing more for his father or his mother:
13 Kamano umiyo wach Nyasaye bedo maonge gi teko nikech wach kitu gi timbeu mane kwereu omiyou. Bende utimo gik mamoko mathoth maket gi mano.”
making void the word of God by your tradition, And many such like things ye do.
14 Bangʼ mano Yesu noluongo oganda ire kendo nowachonegi niya, “Chikuru itu, un duto, mondo uwinj tiend wachni.
And calling all the people to Him, He said unto them,
15 Onge gimoro man oko mar dhano ma kodonjo e iye to nyalo miyo odok mogak. En adier ni gima wuok e dho ngʼato ema miyo odoko mogak. [
Hear me all of you, and understand, There is nothing without a man, which entring into him can defile him: but the things proceeding from him are those which defile a man.
16 Ngʼat man-gi it mar winjo wach mondo owinji.]”
If any one hath ears to hear, let him hear.
17 Kane oseweyo oganda mi odonjo e ot, jopuonjrene nopenje tiend ngerono mane onyisogi.
And when He was come into the house, away from the multitude, his disciples asked Him concerning the meaning of the parable.
18 To nopenjogi niya, “Kare un bende wach pod ok donjnu? Donge ungʼeyo ni gima ni oko kodonjo ei dhano ok nyal miyo odok mogak?
And He saith unto them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not know, that whatsoever from without entreth into a man cannot defile him?
19 Nikech ok odonji e chunye, to odonjo mana e ich bangʼe owuok oko mar dende.” (Ka Yesu nowacho ma, ne opwodho chiemo duto ni ler.)
because it entreth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all his food.
20 Nomedo wuoyo kowacho niya, “Gima wuok koa ei ngʼato ema miyo odoko mogak.
But said He, What cometh out of a man, that defileth the man;
21 Nikech chuny dhano ema richo duto wuokie kaka: paro maricho, chode, kuo, nek, terruok,
for out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts,
22 kod wuoro; kaachiel gi timbe maricho, wuond, anjawo, ketho nying, sunga kod fuwo.
adulteries, fornications, murthers, thefts, avarice, malice, deceit, lasciviousness, envy, slander, pride, folly;
23 Gik marichogi duto wuok e chuny dhano kendo miyo ngʼato bedo mogak.”
all these evils come from within and defile the man.
24 Yesu noa kanyo modhi e gwengʼ mar Turo. Nodonjo e ot moro kendo ne ok odwar mondo ngʼato ongʼe ni en kanyo, kata kamano, bedone kanyo ne ok nyal tamo ji ngʼeyo.
And He arose and went from thence to the borders of Tyre and Sidon; and going into a house He would have had no body know it, but He could not be concealed: for a woman,
25 Dhako moro ma nyare matin ne nigi jachien marach ka nowinjo ni Yesu kanyo nodhi ire gisano mi ogoyo chonge piny e nyime.
whose child was possessed by an evil spirit, having heard of Him, came and fell at his feet,
26 Dhakoni ne en nyar jo-Yunani monywol Foinike e piny Siria. Nobiro ir Yesu mohombe mondo oriemb jachien oa kuom nyare.
(now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation, ) and she besought Him to cast out the demon from her daughter.
27 Nowachone niya, “We nyithindo ema okuong ochiem mayiengʼ, nikech ok en gima kare kawo chiemb nyithindo mondo idir ne guogi.”
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be satisfied: for it is not fit to take the children's bread, and throw it to the dogs.
28 Dhakono nodwoke kowacho niya, “Mano en adier, Ruoth, to kata mana guogi man e bwo mesa bende chamo ngʼinjo ma nyithindo olwaro piny.”
And she answered and said unto Him, True, Lord, yet the dogs under the table, eat of the children's crumbs.
29 Eka Yesu nowachone niya, “Nikech dwokonino koro inyalo dhi. Jachien osewuok oweyo nyari.”
And He said unto her, For this saying, go thy way, the demon is gone out of thy daughter.
30 Dhakono nodhi dala moyudo nyathineno konindo e kitanda kendo ka jachien osea.
And she went away to her house, and found the demon gone out, and her daughter laid on the bed.
31 Yesu nowuok e gwengʼ mar Turo kaluwo Sidon, mi nolor nyaka Nam Galili mondo ochopi e gwengʼ mar Dekapoli.
And departing again out of the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, He came to the sea of Galilee thro' the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32 Kuno, jomoko nokelone ngʼat moro mane ite odino kendo mane ok nyal wuoyo kata matin. Jogi nokwayo Yesu mondo oket lwete kuome.
And they brought to Him a deaf man, who had likewise an impediment in his speech, and pray Him to put his hand upon him.
33 Ka Yesu nosetero ngʼatno tenge, kogole oko e kind oganda, nosoyo lith lwetene e ite. Eka nongʼulo olawo mi omulo lew ngʼatno.
And He took him aside out of the croud, and He spit and put his fingers into his ears, and touched his tongue:
34 Nongʼiyo malo e polo, kendo noomo chunye kowacho niya, “Efatha!” (tiende ni, “Yawri!”)
and looking up to heaven He sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, be opened:
35 Kar dhogeno it ngʼatno noyawore kendo lewe nogonyore mochako wuoyo maler.
and immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake distinctly.
36 Yesu nochiko joma nenikanyo ni kik ginyis ngʼato wachni. To kaka nomedo kwerogino e kaka gin bende negimedo lando wachno.
And He charged them to tell no one, but the more He charged them, the more they published it:
37 Ji duto mane owinjo wachno nodhier nono kagiwacho niya, “Osetimo gik moko duto maber, koda ka joma itgi odino omiyo winjo wach, kendo momni bende omiyo wuoyo.”
and were exceedingly astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
