1 “To koro, yaye jodolo, siemni en maru.
Now this command is for you priests!
2 Ka ok uchiko itu malongʼo, kendo ka ok uketo chunyu mar miyo nyinga luor, to abiro oro kwongʼ kuomu kendo abiro kwongʼo gweth mau. Ee, asekwongʼo-gi nimar ok useketo chunyu mondo omiya duongʼ,” Jehova Nyasaye Maratego owacho.
If you will not listen and if you will not take it to heart to honor me, says the Lord Almighty, then I will place a curse on you and I will curse your blessings—in fact I have already cursed them because you haven't taken what I said to heart.
3 “Abiro tieko kothu, nikech un; abiro mieno wen mag chiayo mutimonago misengni e nyasi mau e pat wengeu kendo anariembu kubakoru gi wen kamano.
Watch out! I am going to penalize your descendants. I will spread manure on your faces from the animals you sacrifice, the manure from your religious festivals, and you will be thrown out with it.
4 Eka unungʼe ni An ema aseoronu siemni mondo singruokna kod jo-Lawi odhi nyime,” Jehova Nyasaye Maratego owacho.
Then you will know that I sent you this command so that my agreement with Levi can continue, says the Lord Almighty.
5 “Namiye singruokna ma en singruok mar ngima kod kwe. Singruokni ne dwaro ni mondo omiya luor, kendo notimo kamano; nochungʼ e nyima koluoro nyinga.
My agreement with him was one of life and peace, which I gave to him, and respect—he respected me. He stood in awe of me.
6 Puonj madier ema ne ni e dhoge kendo miriambo kata achiel ne ok oyud e dhoge. Nowuotho koda gi kwe kod ratiro, kendo noloko ji mangʼeny oa e richo.
He taught the people the truth; nothing in his teaching was false. He walked with me in peace and did what was right, and he helped many to turn way from sin.
7 “Lew jadolo nyaka puonj rieko kendo ji onego dhi puonjre Chike Nyasaye kuome nikech en jaote mar Jehova Nyasaye Maratego.
A priest should explain the truth about God, they should go to him to be taught, for he is the Lord Almighty's messenger.
8 Kata kamano isebaro iweyo yo kendo puonjgi osemiyo ji mangʼeny ochwanyore; iseketho singruok mar jo-Lawi,” Jehova Nyasaye Maratego owacho.
But you have turned from my way. You have made many people to fall into sin. By your teaching you have broken the agreement with Levi, says the Lord Almighty.
9 “Kuom mano asemiyo ojari kendo okuod wiyi e nyim ji duto, nikech ok iseluwo yorega to isedewo wangʼ ji e yore mag chik.”
So I have destroyed any respect you had, and humiliated you before all the people. For you have not kept my ways, and have shown favoritism in what you teach.
10 To donge wan duto wan gi Wuoro achiel? Donge Nyasaye achiel ema nochweyowa? Kare en angʼo momiyo waketho singruok mar wuonewa, ka waonge gi winjruok e kindwa ngʼato gi ngʼato?
Don't we all have one Father? Didn't one God create us? So why are we unfaithful to each other, violating the agreement made by our forefathers?
11 Juda oseketho winjruok osetimo gima mono e Israel kendo e Jerusalem: Osechido kama ler mar lemo ma Jehova Nyasaye ohero kuom kendo nyar joma lamo nyiseche mamoko.
The people of Judah have been unfaithful and have committed a disgusting sin in Israel and Jerusalem. For the men of Judah have defiled the Lord's Temple (which he loves) by marrying women who worship idols.
12 To kuom ngʼat matimo ma, kata bed ni en ngʼama nade, Jehova Nyasaye mad ngʼad kare oko e hembe mag Jakobo, kata bed ni okelo misengini ni Jehova Nyasaye Maratego.
May the Lord expel the family of any man who does this from the nation of Israel! May there be no one left to bring an offering to the Lord Almighty!
13 Gimachielo mutimo ema: Upongʼo kendo mar misango mar Jehova Nyasaye gi pi wangʼu. Uywak kendo udengo nikech Jehova Nyasaye ok dew misengni ma umiye, kata bedo mamor gi gik moa lwetu.
Something else you do is to pour out your tears on the Lord's altar weeping and moaning because he no longer pays attention to your offerings or doesn't want to accept them.
14 To upenjo niya, “Nangʼo?” En kamano nikech Jehova Nyasaye obedo kaka janeno e kindi kod chiegi mane ikendo ka in wuowi, nikech useketho singruok mane ni e kindu koda. Kata obedo ni en chiegi mane itimogo singruok mar kend.
“Why not?” you ask. Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife exchanged when you were young. You were unfaithful to her, your wife and partner joined to you by marriage contract.
15 Donge Jehova Nyasaye oseketogi gibedo gimoro achiel? E ringruok kendo e chuny gin mage. To angʼo momiyo achiel? Nikech ne odwaro kodhi moluoro Nyasaye. Omiyo ritreuru e chunyu kendo kik ngʼato keth singruokne gi chiege mane oangorego.
Did he not make you one, and give some of his Spirit to you? And what does he want? Children of God. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young.
16 Jehova Nyasaye, ma Nyasach Israel wacho niya, “Amon gi weruok mantiere e kind dichwo gi chiege kendo amon gi dichwo matimo gima chalo kamano ni chiege,” Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ema owacho. Kuom mano, ritreuru e chunyu kendo kik uketh singruok.
For I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel, for it's a violent attack on the wife, says the Lord Almighty. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful.
17 Uolo Jehova Nyasaye gi wecheu. To upenjo niya, “Ere kaka wechewa oole?” Uole kuom wacho niya, “Joma timo marach gin joma beyo e nyim wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye, kendo omor kodgi,” kata uwacho niya, “Ere Nyasaye mangʼado bura makare?”
You have worn the Lord out with your words. “How have we worn him out?” you ask. By saying everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord and he is happy with them, or by asking, where is the Lord's justice?
