< Luka 9 >

1 Kane Yesu oseluongo ji apar gariyogo kaachiel, nomiyogi nyalo kod teko mar golo jochiende duto kendo chango tuoche,
He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.

He sent them forth to proclaim the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 Nowachonegi niya, “Kik utingʼ gimoro ka udhi e wuoth obed luth kata ofuku kata chiemo, kata pesa, kata law machielo miloko.
And he said to them, "Take nothing for your journey—neither staff, nor pack, nor bread, nor money; neither have two tunics.
4 Ubed e ot moro amora mudonje, nyaka ua e dalano.
Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.
5 Ka ji ok orwakou, to utengʼ buch tiendeu sa ma uwuok e dalagi mondo obednegi ranyisi ni bura oseloyogi.”
As many as do not receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them."
6 Kamano ne giwuok ma gidhiyo e gwengʼ ka gwengʼ, ka giyalo Injili kendo gichango ji kuonde duto.
They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere.
7 Koro Ruoth Herode nowinjo gik moko duto matimore, to noparore, nikech ji moko ne wacho ni Johana osechier oa kuom joma otho.
Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that Yukhanan had risen from the dead,
8 Jomoko to ni Elija osefwenyore, to joma moko bende ni achiel kuom jonabi machon osebedo mangima kendo.
and by some that Eliya had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.
9 To Herode nowacho niya, “Johana ne asengʼado wiye, koro ma, to en ngʼa ma awinjo gik ma kamagi kuome?” Kendo notemo mondo onene.
Herod said, "Yukhanan I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?" He sought to see him.
10 Ka joote noduogo neginyiso Yesu gima negisetimo. Eka nokawogi modhi kodgi ka gin kendgi giwegi e dala miluongo ni Bethsaida,
The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a city called Beth-Sayada.

But the crowds, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing.

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place."
13 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Migiuru gimoro gicham un uwegi.” Negidwoko niya, “Wan mana gi makati abich gi rech ariyo kende, makmana ka wanyalo dhi mondo wangʼiew chiemo ne ogandani duto.”
But he said to them, "You give them something to eat." They said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people."
14 Ne nitie ji machwo kanyo ma dirom alufu abich. To nowachone jopuonjrene niya, “Nyisgiuru gibed piny e migepe mag ji madirom piero abich, moro ka moro.”
For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, "Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each."
15 Jopuonjre notimo kamano kendo giduto negibedo piny.
They did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Bangʼe nokawo makati abichgo gi rech ariyogo nongʼiyo polo malo, kogoyo erokamano kendo nongʼingogi. Eka nomiyogi jopuonjre mondo opog ji.
He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
17 Giduto negichiemo mi giyiengʼ, kendo bangʼ chiemo jopuonjre nochoko ngʼinjo mag chiemo mane ji ochamo oweyo okepe apar gariyo mopongʼ.
They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
18 Chiengʼ moro kane Yesu lemo kama opondo kendo ne en gi jopuonjrene, nopenjogi niya, “Oganda wacho ni An ngʼa?”
It happened, as he was praying alone, that the disciples were with him, and he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"
19 Negidwoke niya, “Jomoko wacho ni in Johana ja-Batiso, to jomoko wacho ni in Elija to jomoko bende wacho ni in achiel kuom jonabi machon ema osedwogo mobedo mangima kendo.”
They answered, "'Yukhanan the Baptist,' but others say, 'Eliya,' and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again."
20 Nopenjogi niya, “To un to uwacho ni an ngʼa?” Petro nodwoke niya, “In Kristo ma wuod Nyasaye.”
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Kipha answered, "The Meshikha of God."
21 Yesu nosiemogi matek mondo kik ginyis, ngʼato angʼata wachni.
But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one,
22 Kendo nowacho niya, “Wuod Dhano nyaka yud sand mangʼeny, kendo ibiro kwede gi jodong oganda gi jodolo madongo kod jopuonj chik, bende nyaka nonege kendo chiengʼ mar adek nochiere obed mangima.”

23 Eka nowachonegi duto niya, “Ka ngʼato dwaro luwo bangʼa, to nyaka okwedre owuon kendo otingʼ msalape ndalo duto eka oluwa.
He said to all, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 Nimar ngʼatno madwaro reso ngimane, ngimane biro lalne, to ngʼatno mowito ngimane nikech an, abiro rese.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.
25 Ere ber ma ngʼato yudo ka piny duto obedo mare, to olalo kata owito ngimane.
For what does it profit a person if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.
27 “Awachonu adier ni nitie jomoko mochungʼ buta ka ma ok nokal e tho kapok gineno pinyruoth Nyasaye.”
But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God."
28 Kar ndalo ma dirom aboro bangʼ ka Yesu nosewacho mani, nokawo Petro gi Johana kod Jakobo kaachiel kode kendo negidhiyo malo ewi got mondo gilam.
It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Kipha, Yukhanan, and Yaquv, and went up onto the mountain to pray.
29 To kane olamo, kit wangʼe nolokore, kendo lepe nolokore marieny ka ler mar mil polo.
As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.
30 Ji ariyo, Musa gi Elija, nofwenyore e duongʼ maler, ka giwuoyo gi Yesu.
And look, two men were talking with him, who were Mushe and Eliya,

32 Petro kaachiel gi jowadgi ne nindo oingo ahinya, to kane gichiewo maber, negineno duongʼne kod ji ariyo kochungo kode.
Now Kipha and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

It happened, as they were parting from him, that Kipha said to Yeshua, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three tents: one for you, and one for Mushe, and one for Eliya," not knowing what he said.
34 Kane pod owuoyo, boche polo nobiro apoya moumogi, kendo negiluor kane bor polono noumogi.
While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.
35 Eka dwol moro noa e boche polo, kawacho niya, “Ma e Wuoda, maseyiero; winjeuru.”
A voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him."
36 Kane dwol osewuoyo, negiyudo ni Yesu ni kende. Jopuonjre nokano wachni e kindgi giwegi kendo ne ok ginyiso ngʼato angʼata kuom gik mane giseneno.
When the voice came, Yeshua was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.
37 Kinyne, kane gibiro gilor gia e got, oganda maduongʼ noromone.
It happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a large crowd met him.
38 Ngʼat moro e dier oganda noluongo matek niya, “Japuonj akwayi, range wuodani, nikech en nyathina achiel kende.
And look, a man from the crowd called out, saying, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.
39 Ndalo duto jachien make kendo ogoyo koko, bende ogoye piny moriere kogwecho, kendo dhoge wuok buoyo. Jachien-no sande kinde duto, kendo ohinye.
And look, a spirit seizes him, and all at once he cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.
40 Ne akwayo jopuonjreni mondo oriembe oko, to ne otamogi.”
I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they could not."
41 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Yaye, tiengʼ maonge yie kendo mobamni, to nyaka karangʼo ma dabed kodu kendo chandra kodu.” Kel ane wuodi ka.
Yeshua answered, "Faithless and perverse generation, how long must I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here."
42 Kata e kindeno mane wuowino ne biro, jachien nogoye piny mi nogwecho marach. To Yesu nochiko jachien marachno mi nochango wuowino, kendo nochiwe ne wuon mare.
While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Yeshua rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
43 Kendo giduto ne giwuoro duongʼ mar Nyasaye. Kane ji duto wuoro kuom gigo duto ma Yesu notimo, nowachone jopuonjrene niya,
They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Yeshua did, he said to his disciples,
44 “Chikuru itu maber ni gino madwaro nyisou: Wuod Dhano ibiro ndhogi mi keti e lwet ji.”
"Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men."
45 To ne ok giwinjo tiend wachni. Ne opandorenegi, momiyo ne ok gingʼeyo tiende, kendo negiluor mar penje mondo gingʼe tiende.
But they did not understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
46 Mbaka nowuok e kind jopuonjre ni en ngʼa kuomgi manobed maduongʼ moloyo.
There arose an argument among them about which of them was the greatest.
47 Kaka Yesu nongʼeyo parogi, nokawo nyathi matin mokete ochungʼ bute.
Yeshua, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,
48 Eka nowachonegi niya, “Ngʼato angʼata morwako nyathi matin-ni e nyinga orwaka, to ngʼama orwaka, orwako jal mane oora. Nimar ngʼat matin mogik kuomu duto en ngʼama duongʼ moloyo.”
and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one is great."
49 Johana nowachone niya, “Jaduongʼ, ne waneno ngʼato ka golo jochiende e nyingi kendo ne watemo tame, nikech ok en achiel kuomwa.”
Yukhanan answered, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us."
50 To Yesu nowacho niya, “Kik utame, nimar ngʼat ma ok mon kodu en jakoru.”
Yeshua said to him, "Do not forbid him, for he who is not against you is for you."
51 Kane kinde ochopo monego terego malo e polo, Yesu noramo ni nyaka ochop Jerusalem.
It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Urishlim,

and sent messengers before his face. They went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.

But they did not receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Urishlim.
54 Kane jopuonjrene ma Jakobo gi Johana ne oneno ma, negipenjo niya, “Ruoth, idwaro ni mondo waluong mach oa e polo obi otiekgi koso?”
When his disciples, Yaquv and Yukhanan, saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and consume them?"
55 To Yesu nolokore, mokwerogi.
And he turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not realize what kind of Rukha you belong to.
56 Bangʼ mano, negidhi e dala machielo.
For the Son of Man did not come to destroy people's lives, but to save them." And they went to another village.
57 Kane oyudo giwuotho e yo, ngʼat moro nowachone niya, “Abiro luwi kamoro amora midhiye.”
As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, "I want to follow you wherever you go."
58 To Yesu nodwoke niya, “Bwe nigi buchegi kendo winy mafuyo e kor yamo nigi utegi, to Wuod Dhano onge gi kamoro amora monyalo kete wiye.”
And Yeshua said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
59 Nowachone ngʼat machielo niya, “Luwa.” To ngʼatno nodwoko niya, “Ruoth, yiena adhi ayik wuonwa mondi.”
He said to another, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."
60 Yesu nowachone niya, “We joma otho oik jogegi motho, to in dhiyo kendo iland wach mar pinyruoth Nyasaye.”
But Yeshua said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God."
61 To pod ngʼat machielo moro nowacho niya, “Abiro luwi, Ruoth, to mokwongo, yiena adogi mondo adhi goyo oriti ni joodwa.”
Another also said, "I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to bid farewell to those who are at my house."
62 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Ngʼama osemako kwer dhok to pod ngʼiyo chien ok owinjore ni tich mar pinyruoth Nyasaye.”
But Yeshua said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."
