being tempted forty days by the devil; and did eat nothing during those days: and when they were ended, afterwards he was hungry.
3 Satan nowachone niya, “Ka in Wuod Nyasaye adier, nyis kidini olokre kuon.”
And the devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf.
4 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Ondiki ni, ‘Dhano ok bed mangima nikech chiemo kende.’”
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”
5 Eka Satan notere kama otingʼore malo kendo ka diemo wangʼ nono nonyise pinjeruodhi duto mag piny.
And the devil taking him up into an exceeding high mountain, displayed before him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time:
6 To nowachone niya, “Abiro miyi loch mag pinjegi duto gi duongʼ-gi, nimar osemiyagi, kendo anyalo chiwogi ne ngʼato angʼata, madwaro.
and the devil said unto him, I will give thee all this authority, and the glory of these; for to me it is delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I give it.
7 Omiyo ka igoyo chongi piny ma ilama, to magi duto biro bedo magi.”
If therefore thou wilt worship before me, all shall be thine.
8 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Ondiki ni, ‘Lam Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachi kendo en kende ema itine.’”
And Jesus answering him, said, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and to him alone shalt thou pay divine honour.”
9 Eka Satan notere Jerusalem kendo nomiyo ochungo e osuch hekalu malo mogik. Eka nowachone niya, “Ka in Wuod Nyasaye to chikri piny.
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a wing of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thy self down from hence:

for it is written, “He shall give his angels a charge over thee, to guard thee safely;

and that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
12 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Ondiki bende ni, ‘Kik item Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachi.’”
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
13 Kane Satan osetieko temgi duto, noweye nyaka kinde moro machielo.
And when the devil had closed all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 Yesu nodok Galili gi teko mar Roho, kendo wachne nolandore e gwenge duto moluoro Galili.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a report went out into all the region round about concerning him.
15 Nopuonjo e sinagokegi, kendo ji duto nopake.
And he taught in their synagogues, being universally admired.
16 Nodhi Nazareth kuma nodonge, kendo chiengʼ Sabato nodhi e sinagogi, kaka nobedo kite kendo nochungo mondo osom.
And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up; and he went, according to his usual custom, into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and rose up to read.
17 Nomiye kitap Isaya janabi, ka oelogo, noyudo kama nondikie ni:
And there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah: and unrolling the volume, he found the passage where it is written,

to publish the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 Eka noumo kitabuno, mi nochiwe ni jatich, kendo nobedo piny ka wenge ji duto e sinagogi ne ngʼiye matek,
And rolling up the volume, he gave it to the attendant officer, and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were attentively fixed on him.
21 to nochako kowachonegi niya, “Kawuono ndikoni chopo kare ka uwinjo.”
And he began to say to them, To day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
22 Ji duto nowuoyo maber kuome kendo negiwuoro ahinya weche mag ngʼwono manowuok e dhoge. Negipenjo niya, “Donge ngʼatni en wuod Josef?”
And all concurred in their testimony to him, and marvelled at the gracious words which proceeded from his mouth. And they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
23 Yesu nowachonegi niya, “Adier chutho ubiro wachona ngeroni ni, ‘Jathieth, changri iwuon! Tim e dalau ka gigo ma wasewinjo ni ne itimo Kapernaum.’”
And he said unto them, Ye will probably say to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself! the works which we have heard to have been performed by thee at Capernaum, do the like here in thy own country.
24 Nodhi nyime kowacho niya, “Awachonu adiera, onge janabi mirwako e dalagi owuon.
But he said, Verily, I say unto you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
25 Adier awachonu ni ne nitie mon ma chwogi otho mangʼeny e Israel e kinde mar Elija, kane polo olor kuom higni adek gi nus kendo ne nitie kech mager e piny kuonde duto.
Now I tell you of a certainty, that there were many widows in the days of Elias, in Israel, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a grievous famine was upon all the land.
26 To kata kamano ne ok oor Elija ir moro kata achiel kuomgi, to makmana dhako ma chwore otho e dala mar Zarefath e gwengʼ Sidon.
And unto none of them was Elias sent, but unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a widow woman.
27 Bende ne nitie ji mangʼeny e Israel mane nigi dhoho e kinde mar Elisha janabi to onge kata achiel mane opwodhi makmana Naaman ja-Siria kende.”
And many lepers were in Israel in the days of the prophet Elisha, and no one of them was cleansed, but Naaman the Syrian.
28 Ji duto mane ni e sinagogi ne mirima mager omako kane giwinjo wechegi.
And they were all filled with rage in the synagogue, when they heard these observations:
29 Negia malo mine giriembe gigole oko mar dala kendo tere e geng got kama nogerie dalano mondo gidhire olwar piny.
and rising up, dragged him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill, on which their city was built, in order to cast him down headlong:
30 Kata kamano nowuotho awuotha kokadho e kind oganda modhi kuma nodhiyoe.
but he passing through the midst of them, went away.
31 Eka nodhi Kapernaum, dala manie Galili, kendo chiengʼ Sabato nochako puonjo ji.
And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
32 Negiwuoro puonjne, nikech wechene ne nigi teko.
And they were struck with astonishment at his teaching; for his discourse was with authority.
33 To e sinagogi ne nitie ngʼat moro mane nigi jachien marach. Ngʼatni noywak kogoyo koko matek kowacho niya,
And there was in the synagogue a man, who had a spirit of an unclean devil, and he roared out with a great cry,
34 “En angʼo midwaro timo kodwa, Yesu ja-Nazareth? Isebiro mondo itiekwa koso? Angʼeyo ngʼama in, in Ngʼat Maler Mar Nyasaye!”
saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, Jesus the Nazarean? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 Yesu nokwere matek niya, “Lingʼ thi! Wuogi ia kuome!” Eka jachien nogoyo ngʼatno piny e nyimgi duto kendo nowuok ma ok ohinye.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Stop thy mouth, and come out of him. And the devil throwing him down into the midst, came out of him, doing him no injury.
36 Jogo duto nowuoro kendo negipenjore niya, “Ma puonj manade? Kuom teko maduongʼ kod loch, ochiko koda ka jochiende kendo giwuok.”
And amazement seized on all present, and they spake one to another, saying, What a word is this? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 To humb Yesu ne olandore e alwora duto kuonde mokiewo gi gwengʼ mane entie.
And the fame of him went forth into all the adjacent region.
38 Yesu noa e sinagogi kendo nodhi e dala Simon. Koro min chi Simon ne nigi tuo midhusi matek, kendo ne gikwayo Yesu mondo okonye.
Then rising up out of the synagogue, he came into the house of Simon: and Simon’s mother-in-law was seized with a violent fever, and they besought him on her behalf.
39 Omiyo nodhi mokulore bute kendo nochiko midhusi mondo oa kendo midhusi noweye. Nochungo oa malo mapiyo kendo nochako miyogi chiemo.
And standing over her, he charged the fever to depart; and it left her: and immediately she arose, and waited upon them.
40 Kane chiengʼ podho, ji nokelo ne Yesu ji duto mane nigi tuoche mopogore opogore, kendo noketo lwetene kuom moro ka moro, mochangogi.
So when the sun was set, all who had any indisposed with various diseases, brought them to him; and laying his hands severally on each of them, he cured them.
41 Moloyo mano, jochiende nowuok oa kuom ji mangʼeny, ka goyo koko niya, “In e Wuod Nyasaye!” To nokwerogi kendo ne ok oyiene jochiendego mondo owuo nikech negingʼeyo ni en e Kristo.
And devils also went out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Messiah the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was the Messiah.
42 Kane piny oru, Yesu nodhi kar kende. Ji ne manye to kane gibiro kama ne entie, negitemo tame mondo kik owegi.
And as the day was coming on, he went forth and departed into a desert place: and the multitude sought him out, and came to him, and would have detained him that he should not leave them.
43 To nowacho niya, “Nyaka ayal Injilini mar pinyruoth Nyasaye e mier moko bende, nikech ma emomiyo noora.”
But he said unto them, I must preach the glad tidings of the kingdom of heaven in other cities also: for on this service am I sent.
44 To nodhi nyime koyalo e sinagoke mag Judea.
And he continued preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
