But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6 Oonge ka; osechier! Paruru gima ne owachonu, kane pod en kodu Galili:
He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?"
Then they remembered his words.

And returning from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.

These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they did not believe them.

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13 Koro e odiechiengʼ nogono ji ariyo kuomgi ne dhiyo e dala miluongo ni Emau, kama dirom kilomita apar gangʼwen koa Jerusalem.
And look, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.

And he said to them, "What are these words that you are exchanging with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad.
18 Achiel kuomgi, ma nyinge Kleopa, nopenje niya, “In mana wendo e Jerusalem ka kendo ok ingʼeyo gik mosetimore kuno e ndalogi koso?”
One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things which have happened there in these days?"
19 Nopenjo niya, “Gik mage?” Negidwoko niya, “Kuom Yesu ma ja-Nazareth. Ne en janabi, maratego e wach gi tim e nyim Nyasaye kod ji duto.
He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

and when they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24 Eka jowa moko nodhi e liel to negiyudo mana kaka mon-go ne owacho, to en ok ne ginene.”
Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they did not see him."
25 Nowachonegi niya, “Ufuwo nadi to mano kaka chunyu kawo kinde mondo uyie duto mane jonabi osewacho!
Then he said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken.
26 Donge ne Kristo nyaka yud masichegi eka bangʼe nodonji e duongʼ ma Nyasaye ne oseikone?”
Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"

They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.

And they said to one another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
33 Negia malo kendo negidok piyo Jerusalem. Kuno negiyudo ji apar gachielgo gi jogo mane ni kodgi, ka gichokore kaachiel,

As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you."

But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 Nowachonegi niya, “Angʼo momiyo uchandoru, kendo angʼo momiyo chich ni e parou?
He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 Neuru lwetena gi tiendena. En an awuon! Mulauru kendo neuru; jachien onge ringruok kata choke, to an to uneno ka an-go.”
See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."
40 Kane osewacho ma, nonyisogi lwetene gi tiendene,
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 To kane pod ok ne giyie nikech mor kod wuoro, nopenjogi niya, “Bende un gi gimoro amora ka eri madicham?”
While they still did not believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"

And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.

And he said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled."
45 Eka noyawo pachgi mondo giwinj tiend Ndiko.
Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46 Nowachonegi niya, “Ma e gima ondiki: Kristo nyaka ne masira kendo chiengʼ mar adek enochier oa kuom joma otho,

and that repentance leading to forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things.

And look, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
