Joshua 21

And the heads of the fathers of the Levites draw near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel,

and they speak to them in Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, saying, “YHWH commanded by the hand of Moses to give to us cities to dwell in, and their outskirts for our livestock.”

3 Omiyo kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko, jo-Israel nomiyo jo-Lawi mier matindogi kod kuonde kwath koa kuom pokgi giwegi.

And the sons of Israel give to the Levites, out of their inheritance, at the command of YHWH, these cities and their outskirts:

4 Pok mokwongo nodhine jo-Kohath kaluwore gi anywola margi. Jo-Lawi mane nyikwa Harun jadolo nopog mier matindo apar gadek koa e dhout Juda, Simeon kod Benjamin.

and the lot goes out for the families of the Kohathite, and there are for the sons of Aaron the priest (of the Levites), out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities by lot,

5 Nyikwa Kohath mane odongʼ nopog mier matindo apar koa e anywola mar dhout Efraim, Dan kod nus mar dhood Manase.

and for the sons of Kohath who are left, out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities by lot.

6 Nyikwa Gershon nopog mier matindo apar gadek koa e anywola mar dhood Isakar, Asher, Naftali, to gi nus mar dhood Manase man Bashan.

And for the sons of Gershon, out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, [are] thirteen cities by lot.

7 Nyikwa Merari kaluwore gi anywola margi, noyudo mier matindo apar gariyo koa e dhood Reuben, Gad kod Zebulun.

For the sons of Merari, for their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, [are] twelve cities.

8 Omiyo jo-Israel nopogo jo-Lawi mier matindogi kod kuonde kwath, mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nochiko kokalo kuom Musa.

And the sons of Israel give these cities and their outskirts to the Levites, as YHWH commanded by the hand of Moses, by lot.

9 Koa e dhout Juda kod Simeon negipogo mier matindogi gi nying-gi kama:

And they give out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, these cities which are called by name;

10 mier matindogi ne gin mek nyikwa Harun mane oa kuom jo-Kohath e anywola mar jo-Lawi, nikech pok mokwongo nomigi.

and they are for the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathite, of the sons of Levi, for the first lot has been theirs;

11 Ne gimiyogi Kiriath Arba (tiende ni, Hebron), gi kuonde kwath, mantiere e piny manie got mar Juda. Arba ne en kwar jo-Anak.

and they give to them the city of Arba father of Anak (it [is] Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, and its outskirts around it;

12 To puothe kod gwenge molworo dala maduongʼ ne gisemiyo Kaleb wuod Jefune kaka pok mare.

and they have given the field of the city and its villages to Caleb son of Jephunneh for his possession.

13 Omiyo nyikwa Harun jadolo negimiyo Hebron (ma en dala maduongʼ mar tony mar ngʼama oneko), Libna,

And to the sons of Aaron the priest they have given the city of refuge [for] the manslayer, Hebron and its outskirts, and Libnah and its outskirts,

14 Jatir, Eshtemoa,

and Jattir and its outskirts, and Eshtemoa and its outskirts,

15 Holon, Debir,

and Holon and its outskirts, and Debir and its outskirts,

16 Ain, Juta kod Beth Shemesh, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo ochiko koa e dhoudi ariyogi.

and Ain and its outskirts, and Juttah and its outskirts, Beth-Shemesh and its outskirts; nine cities out of these two tribes.

17 To koa e dhood Benjamin ne gimiyogi Gibeon, Geba,

And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon and its outskirts, Geba and its outskirts,

18 Anathoth kod Almon, kaachiel gi kuondegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Anathoth and its outskirts, and Almon and its outskirts—four cities;

19 Mier matindo duto mane omi jodolo ma nyikwa Harun, ne gin apar gadek, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath.

all the cities of the sons of Aaron the priests, [are] thirteen cities and their outskirts.

20 Anywola mar jo-Kohath mar dhood Lawi mane odongʼ nopog mier matindo koa e dhood Efraim.

And for the families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, who are left of the sons of Kohath, even the cities of their lot are of the tribe of Ephraim;

21 E yo kama otingʼore mar Efraim nomi Shekem (ma en dala maduongʼ mar tony ne ngʼatno miparo kuome ni oneko) kod Gezer,

and they give to them the city of refuge [for] the manslayer, Shechem and its outskirts, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Gezer and its outskirts,

22 Kibzaim kod Beth Horon, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

and Kibzaim and its outskirts, and Beth-Horon and its outskirts—four cities.

23 Bende koa e dhood Dan nomigi Elteke, Gibethon,

And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh and its outskirts, Gibbethon and its outskirts,

24 gi Aijalon kod Gath Rimon, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Aijalon and its outskirts, Gath-Rimmon and its outskirts—four cities.

25 Koa e nus mar dhood Manase nomigi Tanak kod Gath Rimon, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo ariyo.

And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and its outskirts, and Gath-Rimmon and its outskirts—two cities;

26 Mier matindogi apar kod legegi mag kwath nomi anywola jo-Kohath mane odongʼ.

all the cities [are] ten and their outskirts, for the families of the sons of Kohath who are left.

27 Mier mane omi jo-Gershon maa e dhood Lawi ne gin: Koa e nus mar dhood Manase, nomigi, Golan mantiere Bashan (ma en dala maduongʼ mar pondo ne ngʼatno miparo kuome ni oneko), kod Be Eshtara, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo ariyo.

And for the sons of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, the city of refuge [for] the manslayer, Golan in Bashan and its outskirts, and Beeshterah and its outskirts—two cities.

28 Koa e dhood Isakar, nomigi, Kishion, Daberath,

And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon and its outskirts, Dabarath and its outskirts,

29 Jarmuth kod En Ganim, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Jarmuth and its outskirts, En-Gannim and its outskirts—four cities.

30 Koa e dhood Asher nomigi, Mishal, Abdon,

And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal and its outskirts, Abdon and its outskirts,

31 Helkath kod Rehob, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Helkath and its outskirts, and Rehob and its outskirts—four cities.

32 Koa e dhood Naftali, nomigi, Kedesh man Galili (ma en dala maduongʼ mar pondo ne ngʼatno miparo kuome ni oneko), gi Hamoth Dor kod Kartan, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo adek.

And out of the tribe of Naphtali, the city of refuge [for] the manslayer, Kedesh in Galilee and its outskirts, and Hammoth-Dor and its outskirts, and Kartan and its outskirts—three cities;

33 Mier matindo duto mar anywola jo-Gershon ne gin apar gadek, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath.

all the cities of the Gershonite, for their families, [are] thirteen cities and their outskirts.

34 Anywola jo-Merari (ma gin jo-Lawi mamoko) nomi: Koa e dhood Zebulun nomi: Jokneam, Karta,

And for the families of the sons of Merari, the Levites, who are left, [are, ] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and its outskirts, Kartah and its outskirts,

35 Dimna kod Nahalal, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Dimnah and its outskirts, Nahalal and its outskirts—four cities.

36 Koa e dhood Reuben nomi: Bezer, Jahaz,

And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer and its outskirts, and Jahazah and its outskirts,

37 Kedemoth kod Mefath, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Kedemoth and its outskirts, and Mephaath and its outskirts—four cities.

38 Koa e dhood Gad nomi: Ramoth mantiere Gilead (ma en dala maduongʼ mar pondo ne ngʼatno miparo kuome ni oneko), gi Mahanaim,

And out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge [for] the manslayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its outskirts, and Mahanaim and its outskirts,

39 Heshbon kod Jazer, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath. Giduto ne gin mier matindo angʼwen.

Heshbon and its outskirts, Jazer and its outskirts—four cities [in] all.

40 Mier matindo duto mane opog ni anywola jo-Merari mane gin jo-Lawi modongʼ, ne gin apar gariyo.

All the cities for the sons of Merari, for their families, who are left of the families of the Levites—their lot is twelve cities.

41 Mier matindo mag jo-Lawi e piny mane jo-Israel okawo ne gin piero angʼwen gaboro giduto, kaachiel gi legegi mag kwath.

All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel [are] forty-eight cities, and their outskirts.

42 Mier matindogi moro ka moro ne nigi legegi mag kwath e alworagi, kendo ma ne en adiera ne mier matindogi duto.

These cities are each city and its outskirts around it; so to all these cities.

43 Omiyo Jehova Nyasaye nomiyo jo-Israel pinje duto mane osingore ni enomi kweregi, kendo ne gikawogi mi gidakie.

And YHWH gives to Israel the whole of the land which He has sworn to give to their fathers, and they possess it, and dwell in it;

44 Jehova Nyasaye nomiyogi kwe, mana kaka ne osesingore ni enomi kweregi. Onge wasikgi moro amora mane omonjogi; kendo Jehova Nyasaye nochiwo wasikgi duto e lwetgi.

and YHWH gives rest to them all around, according to all that which He has sworn to their fathers, and there has not stood a man in their presence of all their enemies, YHWH has given the whole of their enemies into their hand;

45 Onge singruok moro amora mane Jehova Nyasaye omiyo jo-Israel mane ok otimonegi; moro ka moro nochopo kaka nowacho.

there has not fallen a thing of all the good thing which YHWH spoke to the house of Israel—the whole has come.
