< Johana 7 >

1 Bangʼ mano Yesu nodhi koni gi koni e piny Galili, kotemo bedo mabor gi Judea nikech jo-Yahudi ne rite kuno mondo ginege.
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
2 To ka Sap jo-Yahudi mar Kiche ne chiegni chopo,
Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.
3 owete Yesu nowachone niya, “Wuog ka idhi Judea mondo jopuonjreni one honni mitimo.
His brothers therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou art doing.
4 Ka ngʼato dwaro mondo obed rahuma to ok otim gik moko lingʼ-lingʼ. Omiyo kaka isebedo ka itimo honnigi, koro nyenyri ane e lela mondo piny oneni.”
For no one doeth anything in secret, and yet himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.
5 Negiwachone kamano nikech kata gin giwegi ne ok giyie kuome.
For even his brothers did not believe in him.
6 Kuom mano, Yesu nowachonegi niya, “An sechega pok ochopo, un to unyalo timo gigeu sa moro amora.
Jesus saith to them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
7 Piny ok nyal chayou, to an to piny ochaya nikech ahulo ni gik motimo richo.
The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
8 Un dhiuru adhiya e sawo. An pod ok adhi e sawono mondi nikech sa mowinjore adhi kuno pok ochopo.”
Go ye up to the feast; I go not up to this feast; for my time is not yet fully come.
9 Bangʼ wacho kamano nodongʼ Galili.
Having said these things, he remained in Galilee.
10 Kata kamano bangʼ ka owetene nosewuok odhi e sawo, en bende nodhi, to nodhi lingʼ-lingʼ ka ji ok ongʼeyo ni odhi.
But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret.
11 Jo-Yahudi ne manye e sawono ka gipenjo niya, “Ere ngʼatno?”
The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is that man?
12 Ji mathoth mane ni e sawono ne wuoyo kuom Yesu. Jomoko nowacho niya, “En ngʼat maber.” To jomoko kuomgi to nowacho niya, “Ooyo, owuondo ji.”
And there was much debating among the multitude concerning him. Some said, He is a good man; others said, Nay, but he deceiveth the multitude.
13 To onge ngʼama ne nyalo hedhore wuoyo kuome e lela nikech negiluoro jo-Yahudi.
No one, however, spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
14 Kane ji pod ni e Sawo, Yesu nodonjo nyaka e laru mar hekalu mochako puonjo ji.
But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
15 Jo-Yahudi nowuoro ka gipenjo niya, “Rieko machalo kama ngʼatni oyudo kanye to ok osomo?”
The Jews therefore marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Gik ma apuonjo ok gin maga awuon, to gin mag Jal mane oora.
Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 Ka ngʼato oyiero mar timo dwach Nyasaye, to obiro ngʼeyo ka bende puonjna oa kuom Nyasaye adier, kata ka awacho mana wechena awuon.
If any one is desirous to do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
18 Ngʼat ma wuoyo kuome owuon timo kamano mondo oyud duongʼ en owuon, to ngʼat matiyo mondo Nyasaye mane oore ema oyud duongʼ, en ja-adiera, kendo onge miriambo moro amora kuome.
He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory; but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and in him is no unrighteousness.
19 Musa donge nomiyou chik? Kata kamano, onge kata achiel kuomu ma orito chik. Ka en kamano, to angʼo momiyo udwaro nega?”
Hath not Moses given you the Law? and none of you keepeth the Law! Why do ye seek to kill me?
20 Ogandano nodwoko niya, “Jachien ni kodi! En ngʼa madwaro negi?”
The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon! Who seeketh to kill thee?
21 Yesu nowachonegi niya, “Hono achiel kende ema ne atimo mi ubwok uduto.
Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one good work, and ye are all wondering.
22 Nikech Musa nomiyou chik mar mondo oteru nyangu (to chutho Musa ok ema nomiyou chikni, to noa kuom kwereu), omiyo utero ji nyangu nyaka chiengʼ Sabato.
Moses hath given you circumcision, (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.
23 To ka inyalo ter nyathi nyangu chiengʼ Sabato, mondo kik uketh Chik Musa, anto iu wangʼ koda nangʼo ka achango ringre dhano duto chiengʼ Sabato?
If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye angry at me, because I have restored soundness to the whole body of a man on the sabbath?
24 Weuru ngʼado bura kuom gik muneno gioko, to ngʼaduru bura makare.”
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
25 Gikanyono jo-Jerusalem moko nochako penjo niya, “Donge ma e ngʼat mane gidwaro nego cha?
Then some of the men of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
26 To neuru koro opuonjo e lela, to onge ngʼama wachone gimoro. Koso dibed ni jodongwa oseyie ni en Kristo?
and see! he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers discovered certainly that this man is the Christ?
27 Wangʼeyo kuma ngʼatni oaye nikech Kristo to kobiro, to onge ngʼama nongʼe kuma oaye.”
Still, as to this man, we know whence he is; but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.
28 Kane oyudo Yesu pod puonjo ei laru mar hekalu, nokok matek kowacho niya, “Ee, ungʼeya, kendo ungʼeyo kuma aaye. Ok an ka gi dwarona awuon, to Jal ma noora en ja-adiera. Un ukiaye,
Jesus therefore cried aloud, teaching in the temple and saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but there is in truth one who sent me, whom ye know not.
29 to an to angʼeye nikech ne aa ire, kendo en ema noora.”
I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.
30 Kane giwinjo mano, ne gitemo mondo gimake, to onge ngʼama notemo mule gi lwete, nikech kindene ne pok ochopo.
Therefore they sought to take him; but no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
31 Ji mathoth e dier ogandano pod noyie mana kuome. Negiwacho niya, “Ka Kristo miwachono obiro, bende notim honni mangʼeny moloyo ngʼatni adier?”
But of the multitude many believed in him, and said, When the Christ cometh, will he do more signs than these which this man doeth?
32 Jo-Farisai nowinjo ka oganda wacho gik ma kamago kuome, omiyo jodolo madongo gi jo-Farisai nooro askeche mag hekalu mondo omake.
The Pharisees heard the multitude thus debating concerning him; and the chief priest and the Pharisees sent officers to seize him.
33 Yesu nowachonegi niya, “An kodu mana kuom kinde matin kende, bangʼe to abiro dok ir Jal mane oora.
Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and then I go to him that sent me.
34 Ubiro manya, to ok unuyuda, kendo kama antie ok unyal bire.”
Ye will seek me and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come.
35 Jo-Yahudi nowacho e kindgi giwegi niya, “Ngʼatni dwadhi kune ma ok wanyal yudee? Dibed ni odwaro dhi kuma jowa odakie ka gikere e dier jo-Yunani mondo opuonj jo-Yunani?
The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go, that we shall not find him? Will he go to the dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
36 Tiend gima nowacho ni, ‘Ubiro manya to ok unuyuda’ kendo ni, ‘kama antie ok unyal bire’ en angʼo?”
What meaneth this which he said, Ye will seek me, and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?
37 Odiechiengʼ mogik mar Sawo, mane en odiechiengʼ maduongʼ ahinya, Yesu nochungʼ mowacho gi dwol maduongʼ niya, “Ngʼat ma riyo oloyo mondo obi ira omodhi.
On the last day, which is the great day, of the feast, Jesus stood and cried aloud, saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
38 Ngʼato angʼata moyie kuoma pi ngima nobubni koa kuome, mana kaka Ndiko owacho.”
He that believeth in me, from within him, as the Scripture hath said, will flow rivers of living water.
39 Gima ne owuoyo kuome ne en Roho, mane joma oyie kuome biro yudo bangʼe. E kindeno Roho ne pok obiro, nikech Yesu ne pok omi duongʼ.
But this he said of the Spirit, which those that believed in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 Kane giwinjo wachno, moko kuom joma ne ni kanyo nowacho niya, “Jalni en janabi adier.”
Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is in truth the prophet. Others said, This is the Christ.
41 Jomoko to nowacho niya, “En e Kristo.” Ji mamoko to nopenjo niya, “Ere kaka Kristo nyalo aa Galili?
Others said, Doth the Christ then come from Galilee?
42 Donge Ndiko wacho ni Kristo biro aa e anywola joka Daudi, kendo ni obiro aa Bethlehem, dala mane Daudi odakie?”
Hath not the Scripture said, that the Christ cometh from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
43 Omiyo pogruok nobedo e kind ji nikech wach Yesu.
So there was a division among the multitude because of him.
44 Jomoko ne dwaro make, to onge ngʼama noketo lwete kuome.
And some of them wished to seize him; but no one laid hands on him.
45 Eka askeche mag hekalu nodok ir jodolo madongo gi jo-Farisai, kendo ne gipenjogi niya, “Angʼo momiyo ok usekele ka?”
The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why did ye not bring him?
46 Askeche nodwoko niya, “Onge ngʼama osewuoyo kaka ngʼatni nyaka nene.”
The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.
47 Jo-Farisai nodwokogi niya, “Kare un bende useyie gi miriambone.
The Pharisees answered them, Have ye also been deceived?
48 Bende useneno jotend jo-Farisai kata achiel moyie kuome?
Hath any one of the rulers believed in him? or of the Pharisees?
49 Onge ngʼama luwo ngʼatni makmana oganda mokia chik, gin joma okwongʼ!”
but this multitude that know not the Law are accursed.
50 Nikodemo, jal manoyudo osedhi ir Yesu motelo, kendo mane en achiel kuomgi, nopenjo niya,
Nicodemus saith to them, being one of them,
51 “Bende chikwa oyie adier mondo ongʼad ne ngʼato bura kapok onone mokwongo mondo ongʼe gima otimo?”
Doth our law judge a man, unless it first hear from him, and know what he doeth?
52 Negidwoke niya, “Donge in bende ia Galili? Non maber, to ibiro yudo ni onge janabi manyalo aa Galili.” [
They answered and said to him, Art thou too from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet ariseth from Galilee.
53 Eka moro ka moro kuomgi nowuok modok e dalane.
(Joh 7:53 - 8:12: This passage is omitted as ungenuine by Tischendorf and most critical editors of the Greek Testament. It is found in some manuscripts, but not in the most ancient. It is, however, very generally regarded as a genuine relic of the teaching of Christ, though not forming a part of the fourth Gospel. I give it in the text of Tregelles, omitting the words which he incloses in brackets. Tregelles, however, does not suppose it to be genuine.) [[And they went each to his house;
