< Johana 3 >

NOW there was a man of the Pharisees, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 Nikodemo nobiro ir Yesu gotieno mowachone niya, “Rabi, wangʼeyo ni in japuonj moa ka Nyasaye, nimar onge ngʼama nyalo timo ranyisi mag honni mitimogi ka Nyasaye ok ni kode.”
this man came to Jesus in the night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles which thou dost, unless God be with him.
Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nikodemo nopenje niya, “Ere kaka inyalo nywol ngʼato kosebedo ngʼama duongʼ? Adier, bende dochak odog ei min mare mi chak nywole kendo!”
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Awachoni adier ni onge ngʼama nyalo donjo e pinyruoth Nyasaye ka ok onywole gi pi kod Roho Maler.
Jesus replied, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 Ringruok nywolo mana ringruok, to Roho nywolo roho.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Ok onego ibwogi kuom gima awacho ni, ‘Nyaka nywoli nywol manyien.’
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 Yamo futo kochomo kuma ohero, kendo inyalo winje, to ok inyal nyiso kuma oaye kata kuma odhiye.
The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but knowest not from whence it cometh, nor whither it goeth: just so is every one who is born of the Spirit.
9 Nikodemo nopenje niya, “Gigo nyalo timore kamano nade?”
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Ere kaka ok iwinj tiend wechegi, to in japuonj jo-Israel?
Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Anyisi adier ni wawuoyo kuom gik mwangʼeyo, kendo watimo neno kuom gik mwaseneno; to un, to pod utamoru rwako neno marwa.
Verily, verity, I tell thee, That what we know we speak, and what we have seen we affirm; and ye receive not our testimony.
12 Asewuoyo kodu mana kuom gik manie pinyni, to utamoru yie; koro ubiro yie nade ka awuoyo kuom gik manie polo?
If I have told you of earthly things, and ye believe not, how will you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 Onge ngʼato angʼata mosedhi e polo makmana Jal mane olor oa e polo, ma en Wuod Dhano.
Though no man hath ascended into heaven, except he that descended from heaven, that Son of man the I am in heaven.
14 Mana kaka Musa nochungo thuol e thim, e kaka Wuod Dhano bende ibiro chungo,
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, in like manner must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 mondo ngʼato ka ngʼato moyie kuome obed gi ngima mochwere. (aiōnios g166)
that every one who believeth on him may not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
16 “Nikech Nyasaye nohero piny ahinya, omiyo nochiwo Wuode ma miderma, mondo ngʼato angʼata moyie kuome kik lal, to obed gi ngima mochwere. (aiōnios g166)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth in him should not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
17 Nimar Nyasaye ne ok ooro Wuode e piny mondo ongʼad ne piny bura, to noore mondo ores piny.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world by him might be saved.
To ngʼat ma ok oyie kuome bura oseloyo, nikech pok oyie kuom nying Wuowi ma miderma mar Nyasaye.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is already under condemnation, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 Ma e gima bura osengʼado: Ler osebiro e piny, to ji nohero mudho moloyo ler, nikech timbegi ne richo.
Now this is the condemnation, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one whose practices are foul hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his actions may not be brought to conviction.
21 To ngʼato angʼata mawuotho e adiera donjo e ler, mondo onere maler ni gik motimo duto gin gik ma Nyasaye oyiego.”
But he who practices the truth, cometh to the light, that his actions may be evident, as being done for God.
22 Bangʼ mano, Yesu gi jopuonjrene nodhi e gwenge mag piny Judea, kendo nokawo kinde mogwarore kodgi kuno, kobatiso ji.
After these things Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; and there he abode with them, and baptised.
23 To Johana bende ne batiso ji Ainon machiegni gi Salim, nikech pi ne ngʼeny kanyo, kendo ji nosiko ka biro ire mondo obatisgi.
Now John also was baptising at Enon, near to Salem, for there were many streams of water there: and they came, and were baptised.
For as yet John was not cast into prison.
25 Mino wach nochakore e kind jopuonjre Johana moko gi ja-Yahudi moro kuom wach mar pwodhruok.
Then a dispute arose between the disciples of John and the Jews with regard to purification.
26 Negibiro ir Johana mi giwachone niya, “Rabi, jal manyocha ni kodi loka Jordan, ma en Jal mane iwuoyo kuome cha, parie ni en bende tinde obatiso ji, kendo ji duto dhi ire.”
And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou gavest testimony, lo! this man baptiseth, and all men come to him.
27 Johana nodwokogi niya, “Onge gima ngʼato nyalo yudo makmana mano momiye koa e polo.
John answered and said, A man cannot assume any thing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 Un uwegi unyalo timo neno ni ne anyisou ni, ‘An ok an Kristo, to an ngʼat moor mondo otel nyime.’
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Messiah, but that I am sent before him.
29 Miaha en mar wuon kisera. Jachungʼ mar wuon kisera nyaka chik ite ne wuon kisera kendo winje; opongʼ gi mor kowinjo dwond wuon kisera kawuoyo. An ema an gi mor machal kamano, kendo mornano koro oromo chuth.
It is the bridegroom, who possesses the bride: and the friend of the bridegroom, standing by and hearing him, rejoiceth exceedingly at the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
30 En ema nyaka omed yudo duongʼ moloyo, to an nyaka adog piny.
He must grow great, but I diminutive.
31 “Jal moa e polo malo duongʼ moloyo gik moko duto, to ngʼat monywol e piny en mar piny, kendo owuoyo kaka ngʼama onywol e piny. Jal moa e polo duongʼ moloyo gik moko duto.
He that cometh from above is above all: he whose origin is from earth is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: he who cometh from heaven is above all.
32 Otimo neno kuom gik moseneno kendo owinjo, to onge ngʼama orwako nende.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; though no man receiveth his testimony.
He that receiveth his testimony hath avouched that God is true.
34 Nimar Jal ma Nyasaye oseoro wacho weche Nyasaye, nikech Nyasaye chiwo Rohone mogundho ma ok ongʼwonyo lwete.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God hath not given the Spirit by measure unto him.
35 Wuoro ohero Wuowi, kendo oseketo gik moko duto e lwete.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
36 Ngʼato moyie kuom Wuowi nigi ngima mochwere, to ngʼat modagi Wuowi ok none ngimano, nimar mirimb Nyasaye osiko kuome.” (aiōnios g166)
He that believeth on the Son hath life eternal: and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth upon him. (aiōnios g166)
