< Johana 19 >

1 Eka Pilato nokawo Yesu mi ochiwe mondo ochwade.
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 Jolweny nokado osimbo mar kudho, mi gisidhone kendo negiketo e wiye. Ne girwakone kandho makwar,
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilato nochako owuok oko kendo mowacho ni jo-Yahudi niya, “Neuru, eri akele e nyimu mondo ungʼe ni ok ayudo ketho kata achiel kuome minyalo ngʼadnego bura.”
Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith to them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Kane Yesu owuok oko korwako osimbo mar kudho gi kandho makwar, Pilato nowachonegi niya, “Eri ngʼatno!”
Then Jesus came forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith to them, Behold the man!
6 E sa ma jodolo madongo gi jotendgi nonene, negigoyo koko matek niya, “Gure! Gure!” To Pilato nowachonegi niya, “Kaweuru un uwegi udhi ugure. An ok ayudo ketho moro amora kuome minyalo ngʼadonego bura.”
When therefore the chief priests and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 To jo-Yahudi nokone koramo niya, “Wan gi chik, kendo kaluwore gi chikwano, nyaka otho, nikech noketore ni en Wuod Nyasaye.”
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 Kane Pilato owinjo mano, luoro nomedo make moloyo,
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
9 omiyo nochako odok e ode, mopenjo Yesu niya, “In jakanye?” To Yesu ne ok odwoke.
And went again into the judgment hall, and saith to Jesus, Where art thou from? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Pilato nowachone niya, “Idagi wuoyo koda nangʼo? Bende ingʼeyo ni an gi teko ma anyalo gonyigo kata gurigo?”
Then saith Pilate to him, Speakest thou not to me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Ok dibedo gi teko moro amora kuoma ka dine bed ni ok omiyigo koa malo. Kuom mano ngʼama noketa e lweti nigi ketho maduongʼ moloyo richo misetimo.”
Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me to thee hath the greater sin.
12 Kochakore e sechego, Pilato notemo gonyo Yesu, kata kamano jo-Yahudi nomedo kok matek kagiwacho niya, “Kiweyo ngʼatni thuolo modhi, to ok in osiep Kaisar. Ngʼato ka ngʼato ma ketore ni en ruoth, kedo gi Kaisar.”
And from then on Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: Whoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
13 Kane Pilato owinjo mano, nogolo Yesu oko kendo nobet piny e kome mar ngʼado bura kama iluongo ni Laru motingʼore malo mar kidi (miluongo gi dho jo-Hibrania ni Gabatha).
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down on the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
Pilato nowachone jo-Yahudi niya, “Ma e Ruodhu!”
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith to the Jews, Behold your King!
15 To ne gikok niya, “Gole e wangʼwa! Gole e wangʼwa! Gure!” Pilato nopenjogi niya, “Udwaro ni agur ruodhu?” Jodolo madongo nodwoke niya, “Wan waonge gi ruoth machielo makmana Kaisar kende.”
But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16 Eka Pilato nokete e lwetgi mondo gigure, kendo jolweny nokawo Yesu modhigo.
Then therefore he delivered him to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 Yesu nowuok kanyo kotingʼo msalape owuon nyaka kar Hanga Wich (miluongo gi dho jo-Hibrania ni Golgotha).
And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Negigure kanyo, kaachiel gi ji ariyo mamoko.
Where they crucified him, and two others with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 Pilato ne nigi milome moro ma nondiko bangʼe oguro ewi msalaba gimalo. Nondike niya: Ma en Yesu Ja-Nazareth, Ruodh Jo-Yahudi.
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Jo-Yahudi mangʼeny nosomo ndikono, nimar kama nogure Yesu ne ni machiegni gi dala maduongʼ, kendo milomeno nondiki e dho jo-Hibrania, gi Latin kod dho jo-Yunani.
Many of the Jews then read this title: for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
21 To jodolo madongo mag jo-Yahudi nokwedo gima ne Pilato ondikono kagiwacho niya, “We ndiko ni ‘Ruodh jo-Yahudi,’ ndik ni, ngʼatni noketore ni en ruodh jo-Yahudi.”
Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilato nowacho niya, “Gima asendiko, asendiko.”
Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 Kane jolweny oseguro Yesu, negikawo lepe mi gipogogi nyadingʼwen, bangʼe gipogore moro ka moro, kargi ji angʼwen. Lawe mar kandho kende ema ne giweyo. En ne oonge gi wangʼ usi, to notwangʼe machalre, chakre malo nyaka piny.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Negiwacho e kindgi giwegi niya, “En kik wayieche. Wagouru ombulu e dierwa mondo wangʼe ngʼama kawe.” Mano notimore mondo Ndiko ochop kare manowacho niya, “Ne gipogore lepa e kindgi giwegi kendo gigoyo ombulu ne nangana.” Mano e kaka ne jolwenygo notimo.
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Min Yesu gi nyamin min-gi, gi Maria ma chi Kiliopa kod Maria ma aa Magdala nochungʼ but msalaba.
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 Kane Yesu oneno min-gi gi japuonjre ma nohero kochungʼ machiegni kanyo, nowachone min-gi niya, “Mama, neye wuodi!”
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Nowacho bende ni japuonjreno niya, “Neye mamau!” Chakre chiengʼno japuonjreno nokawe odhi kode dalane owuon.
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
28 Bangʼ, kane koro osengʼeyo ni gik moko duto osetimore kaka dwarore, mondo Ndiko ochop kare, Yesu nowacho niya, “Riyo oloya.”
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 Kane Yesu osebilo kongʼono nowacho niya, “Duto koro orumo.” Eka nokulo wiye piny, kendo chunye nochot.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 Ne en odiechiengʼ motelo ne odiechieng Pasaka. Nikech jo-Yahudi ne ok dwar mondo owe ringre Yesu koliero e msalaba chiengʼ Sabato, ne gikwayo Pilato mondo one ni otur tiende joma nogur, kendo olor ringregi.
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath, ( for that sabbath was a great day, ) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Omiyo jolweny nobiro moturo tiend ngʼat mokwongo ma nogur gi Yesu, kod tiende ngʼat machielo bende.
Then came the soldiers, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they broke not his legs:
34 Kar timo kamano, to achiel kuom askechego nochwowo ngʼet Yesu gi tongʼ, mi remo gi pi nochwer.
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately came out blood and water.
And he that saw it bore witness, and his witness is true: and he knoweth that he speaketh truth, that ye may believe.
36 Gigi notimore mondo Ndiko ochop kare kaka nondiki niya, “Onge kata choke achiel ma notur.”
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 Ndiko machielo bende wacho niya, “Giniket geno margi kuom Jal mane gichwowo gi tongʼ.”
And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 Bangʼe Josef ja-Arimathaya nokwayo Pilato mondo omiye ringre Yesu. Josef ne en japuonjre Yesu to nobedo kamano lingʼ-lingʼ nikech noluoro jo-Yahudi. Kane Pilato osemiye thuolo, nobiro mokawo ringre Yesu.
And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
39 Nikodemo mane oseyudo odhi ir Yesu gotieno chiengʼ moro nodhi gi Josef. Nikodemo nokelo yien moko mangʼwe ngʼar moru kaachiel mane-mane madirom kilo piero adek gangʼwen.
And there came also Nicodemus, who at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
40 Negikawo ringre Yesu mi giwiro gi modhigo bangʼe giboye gi lewni marep-rep molir olir, kaka chik jo-Yahudi mar yiko ngʼato dwaro.
Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which was never man yet laid.
There they laid Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was near at hand.
