< Ayub 34 >

1 Eka Elihu nowacho kama:
After proclaiming these things, Eliu now had this to say:
2 “Winjuru wechena, un joma riek; chiknauru itu, un joma osomo.
May the wise hear my words, and may the educated listen to me.
3 Nikech it temo weche mana kaka lep bilo chiemo.
For the ear examines words, and the mouth discerns foods by the taste.
4 Wayieruru kendwa gima nikare; wapuonjreuru kaachiel kuom gima ber.
Let us choose judgment for ourselves, and let us consider among ourselves what is best.
5 “Ayub wacho ni, ‘Aonge ketho, to Nyasaye otamore timona maber.
For Job has said: “I am just, yet God has subverted my judgment.
6 Kata obedo ni an kare, to pod ikwana mana ni an ja-miriambo; kata obedo ni aonge ketho, to asere mare osechwoya, moweya gi adhola ma ok thiedhre!’
For, within my judgment, there is a lie: my vehement barbs are without any sin.”
7 To en ngʼa machalo gi Ayub; mamodho ajara kaka pi?
What man is there that is like Job, who drinks up derision as if it were water,
8 En e achiel gi joma timbegi richo; kendo oriwore gi joricho.
who accompanies those who work iniquity, and who walks with impious men?
9 Nikech osebedo kowacho ni, ‘Onge ohala ma dhano yudo, ka otemo matek mondo otim gima ber ne Nyasaye!’
For he has said, “Man will not please God, even if he should travel with him.”
10 “Omiyo lingʼuru uwinja, un joma nigi winjo. Nyasaye ok nyal timo gima rach kata dichiel, Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ok tim gima ok owinjore.
Therefore, prudent men, hear me: impiety is far from God, and iniquity is far from the Almighty.
11 Ochulo dhano kaluwore gi timbene okelone mana gima owinjore gi timbene.
For he will restore to man his works, and according to the ways of each, he will repay them.
12 En gima kwero mondo Nyasaye otim gima ok owinjore; kendo mondo Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ongʼad bura ma ok nikare.
For truly, God will not condemn in vain, nor will the Almighty repudiate judgment.
13 En ngʼa mane okete jarit piny? En ngʼa mane oketo piny duto e bwo tekone?
What other is established over the earth? Or whom has he placed over the world, which he made?
14 Ka dabed ni Nyasaye ogolo muche makelo ngima kuom dhano,
But, if he directs his heart towards him, he will draw his spirit and breath to himself.
15 to ji duto ditho dichiel kendo dhano didogi e lowo.
All flesh will fail together, and man will return to ashes.
16 “Ka un gi winjo adier to winjuru wachni; kendo chikuru itu ne gima awacho.
Therefore, if you have understanding, hear what is said, and heed the sound of my eloquence.
17 Ngʼama ochayo adiera bende nyalo rito loch adier? Ere gimomiyo iketo bura kuom ngʼama ja-ratiro kendo Jal Maratego?
Is he that does not love judgment able to be corrected? And how can you so greatly condemn him who is just?
18 Donge Nyasaye ema wacho ne ruodhi ni, ‘Un joma nono,’ kendo owacho ne jo-mwandu ni, ‘Timbeu richo,’
He says to the king, “You are an apostate.” He calls commanders impious.
19 Nyasaye ok odewo kata mana wangʼ ruodhi kendo ok otim maber ne jo-mwandu to jochan to oweyo, nikech gin duto gin chwech lwete?
He does not accept the reputation of leaders; nor does he recognize the tyrant as he contends against the poor. For all are the work of his hands.
20 Joma roteke tho apoya e dier otieno; inegogi mi gilal nono, kendo igologi e dier ji, to ok gi lwet dhano.
They will die suddenly, and the people will be troubled in the middle of the night, but they will pass through it, and the violent will be taken away without a hand.
21 “Wangʼe osiko karango timbe ji; oneno okangʼ kokangʼ ma gigoyo.
For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he examines all of their steps.
22 Onge kama otimo mudho kata kama olil gi tipo ma joricho nyalo pondoe.
There is no darkness and no shadow of death, where those who work iniquity may be hidden.
23 Onge gima ochuno ni Nyasaye nyaka non dhano amingʼa eka okelgi e nyime mondo oyalgi.
For it is no longer within the power of man to enter into judgment with God.
24 Oketho telo mar joma roteke ma ok oyalogi kendo oketo joma moko e telo kargi.
He will break into many innumerable pieces, and he will cause others to stand up in their place.
25 Nikech ongʼeyo timbegi oloko loch mag-gi gotieno mi otiekgi chuth.
For he knows their works, and, as a result, he will bring the night, and they will be crushed.
26 Okumo joricho e lela nikech timbegi maricho kama ji duto nyalo nenogie,
Just as the impious do, he has struck them in a place where they can be seen.
27 nikech negilokore giweyo luwe kendo ne ok gidewo yorene kata achiel.
They, as if with great diligence, have withdrawn from him, and they refused to understand all his ways,
28 Negimiyo ywak joma odhier ochopo malo e nyime, mine owinjo ywak jochan.
so that they caused the outcry of the needy to reach him, and he heard the voice of the poor.
29 Kata ka nenore ni olingʼ, to en ngʼa ma dingʼadne bura? Koso kopando wangʼe, to en ngʼa ma dinene? To kata kamano en ema orito ogendini
For, when he grants peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hides his face, who is there that can contemplate him, either among the nations, or among all men?
30 mondo kik gibed e bwo loch ngʼat mokia Nyasaye, kendo machiko ni ji obadho.
He causes a hypocritical man to reign because of the sins of the people.
31 “Ka dipo ngʼato nyalo wachone Nyasaye ni, ‘Aseketho to ok anachak atimne ngʼato marach.
Therefore, since I have been speaking about God, I will not prevent you from doing the same.
32 Puonja mondo ane gik mopondona; kapo asetimo gimoro marach, to ok abi achak atim kamano kendo!’
If I have erred, you may teach me; if I have spoken unfairly, I will add no more.
33 Ere kaka idwaro ni Nyasaye otimni maber, to in to idagi lokori? In ema nyaka ingʼad e pachi iwuon, ok an, omiyo koro nyisane gima ingʼeyo.
Does God require this of you because it is displeasing to you? For you were the first to speak, and not I. But if you know something better, speak.
34 “Joma nigi winjo nyiso pachgi joma riek mawinja wachona ni,
Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man listen to me.
35 ‘Ayub osewuoyo maonge rieko; osewacho weche ma ok oparo maber.’
But Job has been speaking foolishly, and his words contain unsound teaching.
36 Yaye, mad med ameda temo Ayub nyaka giko nikech aduokane chalo aduoka ngʼama timbene richo.
My father, let Job be tested even to the end; may you not retreat from a man of iniquity.
37 Omedo dhi nyime gi timo richo koyanyo Nyasaye e nyim ogandane, kendo omedo wuoyo marach kuom Nyasaye.”
For he adds blasphemy on top of his sins; nevertheless, let him be constrained to be among us, and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.
