< Ayub 23 >
And Job answereth and saith: —
2 “Kata kawuono pod aywagora ka an gi chuny malit; nikech kum mapek ma Nyasaye oketo kuoma miya achur ka an gi rem malich.
Also — to-day [is] my complaint bitter, My hand hath been heavy because of my sighing.
3 Ka dine bed ni angʼeyo kuma dayudie Nyasaye; kendo kata dabed ni anyalo dhi nyaka kuma odakie;
O that I had known — and I find Him, I come in unto His seat,
4 to dine aterone ywakna, kendo anyise gik mopongʼo chunya,
I arrange before Him the cause, And my mouth fill [with] arguments.
5 mondo afweny gima doduoka kendo angʼe gima onyalo wacho.
I know the words He doth answer me, And understand what He saith to me.
6 Bende doti gi tekone maduongʼ mondo okweda? Ooyo, ok dochun weche kuoma ni an jaketho.
In the abundance of power doth He strive with me? No! surely He putteth [it] in me.
7 Kuno ema ngʼama ja-adiera teroe ywakne, kendo kuno ema jal mangʼadona bura diweyae thuolo.
There the upright doth reason with Him, And I escape for ever from my judge.
8 “To kata ka adhi yo wuok chiengʼ to oonge kuno; ka adhi yo podho chiengʼ bende ok ayude.
Lo, forward I go — and He is not, And backward — and I perceive him not.
9 Ka odich otiyo yo nyandwat, to ok anene; to ka olokore ochomo yo milambo to kuno bende ok anyal nene.
[To] the left in His working — and I see not, He is covered [on] the right, and I behold not.
10 To ongʼeyo yora maluwo; bangʼ tema to abiro wuok aa e tem ka achalo dhahabu.
For He hath known the way with me, He hath tried me — as gold I go forth.
11 Tiendena osebedo kaluwo okangene adimba; asebedo ka aluwo yorene ma ok abar.
On His step hath my foot laid hold, His way I have kept, and turn not aside,
12 Pok aweyo mak aluwo chike mowuok e dhoge; to asekawo weche mowuok e dhoge kaka mwandu maduongʼ moloyo chiemba mapile.
The command of His lips, and I depart not. Above my allotted portion I have laid up The sayings of His mouth.
13 “En to ochungʼ kar kende, koso en ngʼa madipiem kode? Otimo gima en owuon ema ohero.
And He [is] in one [mind], And who doth turn Him back? And His soul hath desired — and He doth [it].
14 Obiro chopo gima nosechano chon, kendo pod en gi chenro machal kamago mokanona mathoth.
For He doth complete my portion, And many such things [are] with Him.
15 Mano emomiyo kibaji maduongʼ omaka e nyime, kendo kaparo gigi duto to amiye luor.
Therefore, from His presence I am troubled, I consider, and am afraid of Him.
16 Nyasaye osemiyo chunya ool; Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osemiyo kibaji omaka.
And God hath made my heart soft, And the Mighty hath troubled me.
17 Kata bed ni mudho odino wangʼa kamano, to mudhono ok nyal miya luoro.
For I have not been cut off before darkness, And before me He covered thick darkness.
