< Ayub 23 >

1 Eka Ayub nodwoko niya,
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Kata kawuono pod aywagora ka an gi chuny malit; nikech kum mapek ma Nyasaye oketo kuoma miya achur ka an gi rem malich.
Even to day [is] my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
3 Ka dine bed ni angʼeyo kuma dayudie Nyasaye; kendo kata dabed ni anyalo dhi nyaka kuma odakie;
Oh that I knew where I might find him! [that] I might come [even] to his seat!
4 to dine aterone ywakna, kendo anyise gik mopongʼo chunya,
I would order [my] cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
5 mondo afweny gima doduoka kendo angʼe gima onyalo wacho.
I would know the words [which] he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
6 Bende doti gi tekone maduongʼ mondo okweda? Ooyo, ok dochun weche kuoma ni an jaketho.
Will he plead against me with [his] great power? No; but he would put [strength] in me.
7 Kuno ema ngʼama ja-adiera teroe ywakne, kendo kuno ema jal mangʼadona bura diweyae thuolo.
There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
8 “To kata ka adhi yo wuok chiengʼ to oonge kuno; ka adhi yo podho chiengʼ bende ok ayude.
Behold, I go forward, but he [is] not [there; ] and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9 Ka odich otiyo yo nyandwat, to ok anene; to ka olokore ochomo yo milambo to kuno bende ok anyal nene.
On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold [him: ] he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see [him: ]
10 To ongʼeyo yora maluwo; bangʼ tema to abiro wuok aa e tem ka achalo dhahabu.
But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 Tiendena osebedo kaluwo okangene adimba; asebedo ka aluwo yorene ma ok abar.
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
12 Pok aweyo mak aluwo chike mowuok e dhoge; to asekawo weche mowuok e dhoge kaka mwandu maduongʼ moloyo chiemba mapile.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary [food].
13 “En to ochungʼ kar kende, koso en ngʼa madipiem kode? Otimo gima en owuon ema ohero.
But he [is] in one [mind], and who can turn him? and [what] his soul desireth, even [that] he doeth.
14 Obiro chopo gima nosechano chon, kendo pod en gi chenro machal kamago mokanona mathoth.
For he performeth [the thing that is] appointed for me: and many such [things are] with him.
15 Mano emomiyo kibaji maduongʼ omaka e nyime, kendo kaparo gigi duto to amiye luor.
Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
16 Nyasaye osemiyo chunya ool; Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osemiyo kibaji omaka.
For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
17 Kata bed ni mudho odino wangʼa kamano, to mudhono ok nyal miya luoro.
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, [neither] hath he covered the darkness from my face.
