< Ayub 20 >

1 Eka Zofar ja-Namath nodwoko niya,
And Zophar the Naamathite answereth and saith: —
2 “Pacha chuna ni nyaka adwoki nikech gima iwacho chando chunya.
Therefore my thoughts cause me to answer, And because of my sensations in me.
3 Asewinjo kwer mikwerago, manyisa ni ichaya, omiyo kaluwore gi ngʼeyo ma an-go, to chuna ni nyaka adwoki.
The chastisement of my shame I hear, And the spirit of mine understanding Doth cause me to answer:
4 “Ingʼeyo maber chal gik moko nyaka aa chon, chakre kinde mane oket dhano e piny,
This hast thou known from antiquity? Since the placing of man on earth?
5 ni tingʼruok ma joma timbegi richo tingʼorego rumo piyo, kendo mor mar joma okia Nyasaye ok bed amingʼa.
That the singing of the wicked [is] short, And the joy of the profane for a moment,
6 Kata bed ni sungane chopo nyaka e polo kendo wiye mulo boche polo,
Though his excellency go up to the heavens, And his head against a cloud he strike —
7 to ibiro yweye molal nono mana ka buru; joma yande ongʼeye nopenj ni, ‘Kare tinde erego?’
As his own dung for ever he doth perish, His beholders say: 'Where [is] he?'
8 Olal nono mana ka lek, kendo ok chak yud ndache iriembe modhi mabor, mana ka lek mar otieno.
As a dream he fleeth, and they find him not, And he is driven away as a vision of the night,
9 Wenge ma yande nene ok nochak onene; kendo kama nodakie ok nochak onene.
The eye hath not seen him, and addeth not. And not again doth his place behold him.
10 Nyithinde nyaka dwok gik mane okwalo kuom jodhier, adier nyithinde nyaka dwok mwandu mane omayo ji.
His sons do the poor oppress, And his hands give back his wealth.
11 Tekone duto kaka ngʼama pod tin biro dhi kode e bur.
His bones have been full of his youth, And with him on the dust it lieth down.
12 “Kata obedo ni richo mitne e dhoge mopando moko e lembe,
Though he doth sweeten evil in his mouth, Doth hide it under his tongue,
13 kata obedo ni ok onyal pogore kode kendo okane ei dande iye,
Hath pity on it, and doth not forsake it, And keep it back in the midst of his palate,
14 to chiembe biro lokore makech gie iye; obiro lokore kwiri marach mag thuonde madongo manie iye.
His food in his bowels is turned, The bitterness of asps [is] in his heart.
15 Nyasaye biro ngʼulo mwandu mane omwonyo oko; obiro miyo ongʼogogi oko ka chiemo mocham.
Wealth he hath swallowed, and doth vomit it. From his belly God driveth it out.
16 Obiro nyodho kwiri mag thuonde madongo; kendo leke thuond fu man-gi kwiri maricho biro nege.
Gall of asps he sucketh, Slay him doth the tongue of a viper.
17 Ok enobed mangima ma one mo mar kich gi chak mamol ka aore.
He looketh not on rivulets, Flowing of brooks of honey and butter.
18 Gik mane oyudo kuom tichne matek obiro weyo kendo ok obi yudo thuolo mar bedo mamor kuom ohala mosechoko.
He is giving back [what] he laboured for, And doth not consume [it]; As a bulwark [is] his exchange, and he exults not.
19 Nikech ne othiro joma odhier, kendo nomayogi gigegi mi gidongʼ nono osemayo ji udi ma en ne ok ogero.
For he oppressed — he forsook the poor, A house he hath taken violently away, And he doth not build it.
20 “Adier, ok obi yudo yweyo kuom gombone malach; nikech ok onyal warore owuon gi mwandu mangʼeny mokano.
For he hath not known ease in his belly. With his desirable thing he delivereth not himself.
21 Onge gima odongʼne makoro onyalo yako; mwandune ok bi siko.
There is not a remnant to his food, Therefore his good doth not stay.
22 Kata bed ni oseyako mwandu mangʼeny kamano; to mwandugo ema biro kelone masira; kendo midhiero maduongʼ biro biro kuome mi hewe.
In the fulness of his sufficiency he is straitened. Every perverse hand doth meet him.
23 Kosechiemo moyiengʼ, to Nyasaye biro olo kuome mirimbe maliel ka mach, kendo biro kelo kuome kum malich.
It cometh to pass, at the filling of his belly, He sendeth forth against him The fierceness of His anger, Yea, He raineth on him in his eating.
24 Kata otem ringo mondo otony ne gir lweny molos gi chuma, to asere ma dhoge olos gi mula biro chwowe.
He fleeth from an iron weapon, Pass through him doth a bow of brass.
25 Opudho asereno mondo owuog oko gi yo ka die ngʼeye, ka lew asere mabithno to osechwoyo adundone. Kihondko biro biro kuome,
One hath drawn, And it cometh out from the body, And a glittering weapon from his gall proceedeth. On him [are] terrors.
26 nikech mwandune duto oserumo. Mach ma lwet dhano ok omoko biro wangʼe molokre buru kendo biro tieko gimoro amora modongʼ e hembe.
All darkness is hid for his treasures, Consume him doth a fire not blown, Broken is the remnant in his tent.
27 Polo biro bedo janeno kuom timbene mamono duto; to piny nongʼadne bura.
Reveal do the heavens his iniquity, And earth is raising itself against him.
28 Ohula maduongʼ biro yweyo ode mi dhigo, adier, pi maringo matek biro tere chiengʼ ma Nyasaye noolie mirimbe mager.
Remove doth the increase of his house, Poured forth in a day of His anger.
29 Mano e gima Nyasaye ochano ne joma timbegi richo, mano e girkeni ma Nyasaye oikonegi.”
This [is] the portion of a wicked man from God. And an inheritance appointed him by God.
