< Ayub 15 >
1 Eka Elifaz ja-Teman nopenjo niya,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
2 “Bende ngʼama riek nyalo dwoko ji gi paro manono kata pongʼo it ji gi weche ma ok nikare?
“Should a wise man answer with vain knowledge, and fill himself with the east wind?
3 Bende onyalo mino wach gi weche maonge tiendgi, kata gi mbekni maonge gi konyruok?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk, or with speeches with which he can do no good?
4 In to inyoso chuny ji mondo kik giluor Nyasaye kendo imonogi lame.
Yes, you do away with fear, and hinder devotion before God.
5 Richo ma isetimo ema omiyo iwuoyo alanda kamano; kendo ilony e wacho miriambo.
For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.
6 Wecheni iwuon ema ngʼadoni bura, to ok an, kendo gik ma lewi wacho ema nyiso kiti marach.
Your own mouth condemns you, and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.
7 “Iparo ni in e ngʼat mane okuong nywol e piny? Koso ne intie kapok Nyasaye ochweyo gode?
“Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought out before the hills?
8 Bende ichiko iti ne rieko mar Nyasaye? Koso iloko rieko giri iwuon?
Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?
9 Angʼo mingʼeyo ma wan ok wangʼeyo? Paro matut mage ma in-go, ma wan waongego?
What do you know that we don’t know? What do you understand which is not in us?
10 Joma yie wigi otwi lwar kod joma hikgi ngʼeny moingo kata mana wuonu gin jokorwa.
With us are both the grey-headed and the very aged men, much older than your father.
11 Hoch ma Nyasaye hoyigo kod weche mosebedo kinyisi gi ngʼwono, donge oromi?
Are the consolations of God too small for you, even the word that is gentle towards you?
12 Angʼo momiyo iseweyo chunyi oteri mabor, mi ibedo gi wangʼ teko,
Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash,
13 momiyo koro iwuoyo gi Nyasaye ka in gi mirima kendo iwacho weche machalo kamano gi dhogi?
that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?
14 “Dhano to en angʼo madimi obed ngʼama ler, koso dhano ma dhako onywolo, to en angʼo madimi obed ngʼama kare?
What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
15 Ka Nyasaye ok ogeno kata malaika mage, kendo kata mana polo bende ok ler e nyime,
Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;
16 to koro ere kaka dodew dhano adhana ma timbene richo kendo okethore, mamodho richo ka pi!
how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!
17 “Chikuru itu uwinja mondo olernu tiend wach; we anyisu gik ma aseneno,
“I will show you, listen to me; that which I have seen I will declare
18 gik ma joma riek osehulo, ka ok gipando gimoro amora mane giyudo kuom kweregi,
(which wise men have told by their fathers, and have not hidden it;
19 ma gin jogo mane omi piny kendgi giwegi kinde mane onge jopinje mamoko mane kadho e diergi.
to whom alone the land was given, and no stranger passed amongst them):
20 Ngʼat ma timbene richo kendo mathiro ji neno chandruok e kinde duto mag ngimane.
the wicked man writhes in pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
21 Koko mag masiche opongʼo ite kendo jomecho biro monje e kinde moparo ni gik moko dhi maber.
A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.
22 Ok onyal tony mowuogi e mudho; nikech okane ne ligangla.
He doesn’t believe that he will return out of darkness. He is waited for by the sword.
23 Orundore koni gi koni nimar en chiemb achudhe adier; ongʼeyo ni odiechieng mudho ni machiegni.
He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
24 Masiche malich ogoye gi kihondko, gigi duto omake, mana ka ruoth moikore mar dhi e lweny,
Distress and anguish make him afraid. They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
25 mano ema notimre ne ngʼat ma kamano nikech othiano ni Nyasaye kendo opiem gi Jehova Nyasaye Maratego,
Because he has stretched out his hand against God, and behaves himself proudly against the Almighty,
26 koringo mondo odhi omonje kotingʼo kuot mapek kendo motegno.
he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,
27 “Kata obedo ni ngʼatni chwe kendo en jamoko,
because he has covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat on his thighs.
28 to obiro dak e mier mokethore, kendo e udi maonge joma odakie, ma gin udi mosemukore molokore gunda.
He has lived in desolate cities, in houses which no one inhabited, which were ready to become heaps.
29 Koro ok obi bedo gi mwandu, kendo gik ma en-go ok bi dongʼ ne nyikwaye.
He will not be rich, neither will his substance continue, neither will their possessions be extended on the earth.
30 Ok notony e masira, enochal gi yath ma mach owangʼo ite, kendo much Nyasaye biro keyo thiepene mi olal nono.
He will not depart out of darkness. The flame will dry up his branches. He will go away by the breath of God’s mouth.
31 Kik ogalre koketo genone kuom gima onge tich nikech onge ohala mobiro yudo kuom timo kamano.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his reward.
32 Obiro neno makne kapod ndalone oromo, kendo bedene ok bi siko ka ngʼich.
It will be accomplished before his time. His branch will not be green.
33 Obiro chalo gi yiend mzabibu motengʼ olembene mapok ochiek piny mana ka yiend zeituni ma maupege two kendo lwar piny.
He will shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and will cast off his flower as the olive tree.
34 Nikech riwruok mar joma ok lem ok nyal nyago gimoro kendo mach biro wangʼo hembe mag joma ohero asoya mitiek pep.
For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.
35 Gin joma kelo chandruok kendo timo timbe maricho; kendo chunygi opongʼ gi miriambo kinde duto.”
They conceive mischief and produce iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit.”
