< Jakobo 1 >

1 An Jakobo, ma jatich Nyasaye kendo jatich Ruoth Yesu Kristo, Andikonu, un dhoudi apar gariyo mokere e pinje duto: Amosou.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes who are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 Jowetena ka uyudo tembe mayoreyore to kwanreuru ka johawi kendo beduru gi mor mar adier
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into various temptations;
3 nikech ungʼeyo ni tem mitemogo yieu miyo ubedo jokinda.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 To kinda nyaka chop kare chuth eka unyalo doko motegno ma ok uremo gimoro.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5 Ka ngʼato kuomu ochando rieko to okwa Nyasaye, ma jachiwo maber ne ji duto kendo nomiye maonge kiawa.
If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.
6 To ka ukwayo to nyaka ubed gi yie ma ok uriwo gi kiawa, nikech ngʼat mariwo gi kiawa chalo gi apaka mar nam ma yamo riembo kendo tago.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 Ngʼat ma kamano kik par ni onyalo kwayo Ruoth gimoro mi oyudi,
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 nikech en ngʼat ma pache nyadiriyo kendo ma timbene duto yomyom.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 To owadwa modhier onego obed mamor ka Nyasaye otingʼe malo.
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 To ngʼat man-gi mwandu bende onego bed mamor ka Nyasaye odwoke piny, nikech ja-mwandu biro lal nono mana ka maua moti e thim.
But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 Nikech ka chiengʼ rieny maliet to owangʼo maua kod thiepene kendo gilwar piny kendo berne rumo. Kamano bende e kaka ja-mwandu biro lal nono, kata mana kotiyo tijene.
For the sun hath no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and its flower falleth, and the grace of its fashion perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Ngʼat matimo kinda kiteme en ngʼat mogwedhi, nikech kochungʼ motegno mi oloyo temno, to obiro yudo osimbo mar ngima, ma Nyasaye osesingore ni nomi joma ohere.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 To ka itemo ngʼato to kik owach niya, “Nyasaye tema.” Nikech Nyasaye ok nyal tem gi gik maricho, to en owuon bende ok otem ji
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 makmana ngʼato ka ngʼato itemo mana ka gombone owuon maricho oywaye kendo tere e richo.
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
15 Bangʼe ka gombo maricho osemako ich to onywolo richo; to richo kosedoko motegno to onywolo tho.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Jowetena mageno, kik ngʼato wuondu.
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Mich moro amora maber kendo malongʼo aa malo e polo, koa kuom Wuoro manochweyo ler marieny e polo, kendo ma ok lokre ka tipo ma osiko kalokore.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 En ema noyiero owuon mondo onywolwa kokonyore gi wach mar adiera, mondo wabed kaka olemo mokwongo chiek e kind chwechne duto.
Of his own will he hath begotten us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Jowetena mageno, winjuru wachni malongʼo ni: Ji duto onego bed mapiyo e winjo wach, kik urikni e wuoyo kendo kik ubed joma igi wangʼ piyo,
Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 nikech mirima ok mi wabed joma kare kaka Nyasaye dwaro ni wabedi.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Kuom mano, lonyuru oko kit kethruok gi richo duto, ma kindegi opongʼo piny kendo bolreuru kurwako wach mopidhi e chunyu, manyalo konyou.
Therefore put away all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 To kik uchik mana itu ni winjo wach kende, nono to uwuondoru kendu uwegi to timuru mana gima Muma puonjo.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 Ngʼato angʼata mawinjo awinja wach to ok tim gima wach owacho, chalo gi ngʼama ngʼiyo lela wangʼe e rangʼi,
For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
24 to bangʼ kosengʼiyore maber to owuok odhi adhiya mi wiye wil gi kite gisano.
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 To ngʼat manono adimba Chik malongʼo mar Nyasaye mamiyo dhano bedo thuolo, komedo timo kamano kinde ka kinde, ma ok wiye owil gi gima osewinjo, to osiko otimo gima Chik owacho, ibiro gwedhe e gimoro amora motimo.
But he who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 Ka ngʼato angʼata okawore ni en jalemo, to ok orito lewe motegno to owuondore kende, kendo lemone onge tiende.
If any man among you seemeth to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Kit lemo ma Nyasaye Wuonwa oyiego ni ler kendo onge ketho en mondo wakony nyithi kiye gi mon ma chwogi otho e chandruokgi, kendo mondo ngʼato ka ngʼato oritre kik timbe maricho mag piny ywaye.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
