< Isaya 5 >
1 Abiro wero wend ngʼat ma ahero, wer mar puothe mar mzabibu niya: Jal ma ahero ne nigi puoth mzabibu e bath got kama omewo.
Let me sing for my well beloved, a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My well beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill.
2 Ne opure maber mogolo kite duto manie iye kendo opidhoe olembe mabeyo ahinya moyier. Ne ogero kama otingʼore gi malo mar ngʼicho e chuny puodhono bende noloso kama ibiyoe mzabibu. Eka nomanyo olembe mabeyo to kata kamano neginyago mana olembe maricho.
He spaded it, removed the stones, and planted it with an excellent kind of vine. He built a tower in the middle of it, and also built a winepress. He waited for it to produce grapes, but it only produced wild grapes.
3 “Koro un joma odak Jerusalem to gi jogo modak Juda; ngʼadieuru bura e kinda kod puotha mar mzabibu.
So now, inhabitant of Jerusalem and man of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.
4 Angʼo machielo mane onego otim e puotha mar mzabibu maloyo mano mane atimone? Kane adwaro olembe mabeyo to angʼo mane omiyo onyago mana mago maricho?
What more could have been done for my vineyard, that I have not done for it? When I looked for it to produce grapes, why did it produce wild grapes?
5 Koro abiro nyisou gima abiro timo ne puotha mar mzabibu: Abiro golo chiende oko, kendo ibiro kethe, abiro muko ohingane kendo nonyone piny.
Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will remove the hedge, I will turn it into a pasture, I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.
6 Bende anaweye kojwangʼore ma ok olose kata doye kendo ongʼono, kod kuthe ema nodongie. Abiro chiko boche polo mondo kik koth ochwene.”
I will lay it waste, and it will not be pruned nor hoed. Instead, briers and thorns will spring up. I will also command the clouds not to rain on it.
7 Puoth mzabibu mar Jehova Nyasaye Maratego en od jo-Israel, kod jo-Juda e puodho mamiye mor. Osedwaro mondo ngʼado bura makare obedie, to oneno mana nek kendo osedwaro mondo one tim makare, to owinjo mana ywak mar lit.
For the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel, and the man of Judah his pleasant planting; he waited for justice, but instead, there was killing; for righteousness, but, instead, a shout for help.
8 Unune malit, un joma mayo ji utegi ma gisegero kendo umayo ji puothegi, maonge kama odongʼ ma udongʼ ka udak kendu e pinyno.
Woe to those who join house to house, who join field to field, until no room remains, and you alone remain in the land!
9 Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osewacho ayanga ka awinjo ni: “Kata kamano ute madongo biro dongʼ gunda, kendo ute madongo moger mabeyo biro dongʼ maonge joma odakie.
Yahweh of hosts told me, many houses will be empty, even great and impressive ones, without any inhabitant.
10 Heka apar mar mzabibu nogol mana olemo karaya achiel kende, kendo kodhi moromo gorogoro nonyag cham maromo debe kende.”
For a ten-yoke vineyard will yield only one bath, and one homer of seed will yield only an ephah.
11 Unune malit un joma chiewo gokinyi kulawo kuonde kongʼo, un ma ubudho kuneno nyaka chuny otieno ka umer maonge rieko.
Woe to those who rise up early in the morning to obtain strong drink, those who linger late into the night until wine inflames them.
12 Gitimo nyasigi gi kongʼo, gi nyatiti, gi orutu, gi oyieke kod asili, to ok gidewo gik ma Jehova Nyasaye osetimo bende ok giluoro tij lwete.
They banquet with harp, lute, tambourine, flute, and wine, but they do not recognize the work of Yahweh, nor have they considered the doings of his hands.
13 Omiyo koro joga biro dhi e twech nikech bedo maonge winjo; jotendgi kech biro nego, Kendo oganda modongʼ to riyo ema biro nego.
Therefore my people have gone into captivity for lack of understanding; their honored leaders go hungry, and their common people have nothing to drink.
14 Kuom mano piny joma otho ongʼamo dhoge malach ka dande oyawore malich; kendo enomuony jotelo kod oganda mamoko e kinde ma gikokee gi mor. (Sheol )
Therefore Sheol has made its appetite greater and has opened its mouth very wide; their elite, the people, their leaders, and the revelers and those who are happy among them, descend into Sheol. (Sheol )
15 Omiyo dhano nodwok piny kendo ogendini duto nogol tekogi, kendo timbe jonjore notieki.
Man will be forced to bend down, and mankind will be humbled; the eyes of the lofty will be cast down.
16 To Jehova Nyasaye Maratego notingʼ malo gi timne makare, kendo Nyasaye maler nonyis lerne gi timne makare.
Yahweh of hosts will be exalted in his justice, and God the Holy One will show himself holy by his righteousness.
17 Eka rombe nokwa e legegi giwegi; to nyirombe nokwa e gundni mane mag jomoko.
Then the sheep will feed as in their own pasture, and in the ruins, lambs will graze as foreigners.
18 Unune malit un joma osiko katimo richo ka umede gi miriambo, kod timbe anjawo,
Woe to those who pull along iniquity with useless cords and who pull along sin as if it were with a cart rope.
19 kod joma wacho ni joga niya, “Nyasaye mondo oreti, kendo otim gima odwaro timo, mondo wanene. We gima Jal Maler mar Israel dwaro timo otimre mondo wangʼeye.”
Woe to those who say, “Let God hurry, let him act quickly, so we can see it happen; and let the plans of the Holy One of Israel come, so that we may know them.”
20 Mano kaka nobed malit ne joma luongo tim mamono ni ber to tim maber ni rach; jogo maketo mudho kar ler to kar ler gikete mudho, joma keto gik makech kar mamit to mamit giketo kar makech.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who represent darkness as light, and light as darkness; who represent bitter as sweet, and sweet as bitter!
21 Mano kaka nobed malit ne jogo mariek e wengegi giwegi kendo kwano ni ongʼeyo gik moko duto.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own understanding!
22 Mano kaka nobed malit ne thuondi mag madho kongʼo kendo molony e ruwo kongʼo makech.
Woe to those who are champions at drinking wine, and masters at mixing strong drinks;
23 Un ma uweyo joketho nikech asoya, to joma onge ketho ema utamo e adiera margi.
who acquit the wicked for payment, and deprive the innocent of his rights!
24 Kuom mano kaka lew mach wangʼo yugi kendo kaka lum motwo lal nono e mach, e kaka tiendgi notow bende maua mawuok e itgi nolwar mana ka buru, nikech gisedagi chik mar Jehova Nyasaye Maratego kendo chayo wach Jal Maler mar Israel.
Therefore as the tongue of fire devours stubble, and as the dry grass goes down in flame, so their root will rot, and their blossom will blow away like dust. This will happen because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of hosts, and because they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Kuom mano Jehova Nyasaye osekecho gi joge; kendo oserieyo bade kuomgi monegogi. Gode yiengni kendo ringre joma otho odhurore e wangʼ yore ka yugi. To kata bed ni magi duto osetimore, to mirimbe pod ok okwe, nimar pod okecho kodgi.
Therefore the anger of Yahweh is kindled against his people. He has reached out with his hand against them and has punished them. The mountains tremble, and their corpses are like garbage in the streets. In all these things, his anger does not subside; instead, his hand is still stretched out.
26 Otingʼo bandera malo ne ogendini moa mabor, kendo ogoyo tungʼ koluongo jogo moa e tunge piny. Gibiro mapiyo piyo ka giringo matek.
He will lift up a signal flag for far away nations and will whistle for those at the end of the earth. Look, they will come speedily and promptly.
27 Onge kata mana ngʼato achiel kuomgi ma ol kata machwanyore, bende onge kata ngʼato achiel kuomgi ma nindo tero, bende onge moro ma okanda ombekni e nungone kata ma tond wuochene ochot.
None tire or stumble among them; none slumbers or sleeps. Nor are their belts loose, or the thongs of their sandals broken.
28 Asernigi bith bende atungegi duto oywa motegno, kendo faresegi ombongʼ tiendgi ojingʼ, tiend gechegi winyore ka kalausi.
Their arrows are sharp and all their bows are bent; their horses' hooves are like flint, and their chariot wheels like storms.
29 Giruto ka sibuor kendo gingʼur ka sibuoche matindo, bende gimor ka gidwaro mako le, mi gitingʼ-gi e dhogi maonge ngʼama nyalo resogi.
Their roaring will be like a lion; they will roar like young lions. They will growl and seize the prey and drag it away, with none to rescue.
30 Odiechiengno ginirut kuome mana ka mor mar ataro. Kendo ka ngʼato ongʼiyo pinyno to none mudho gi kuyo; kata mana ler mar chiengʼ boche polo noum.
On that day they will roar against the prey as the sea roars. If anyone looks over the land, he will see darkness and suffering; even the light will be made dark by the clouds.
