< Isaya 47 >

1 In Nyar Babulon Mangili bed piny e buru; bed piny e lowo kionge loch in nyar jo-Babulon. Ok nochak oluongi ni nyako ma dende yom kendo ma jaber.
“Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you will no longer be called tender and delicate.
2 Kawuru nyiponge mondo ureg-go mogo; goluru leso ma uumogo wengeu. Ngʼwanuru lepu mondo ungʼadgo aore.
Take the millstones and grind flour. Remove your veil, lift up your skirt, uncover your legs, and wade through the rivers.
3 Dugu biro neno kendo wichkuot maru nonenre e lela. Abiro chulo kuor; kendo onge ngʼama notony.
Your nakedness will be uncovered. Yes, your shame will be seen. I will take vengeance, and will spare no one.”
4 Jareswa, Jehova Nyasaye Maratego e nyinge, en e Jal Maler mar Israel.
Our Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies is his name, is the Holy One of Israel.
5 Bed mokuyo kendo ilingʼ thi, in nyar Babulon; nimar ok nochak oluong ni ruoth madhako mar pinje.
“Sit in silence, and go into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you shall no longer be called the mistress of kingdoms.
6 Kane iya owangʼ gi joga to ne ajwangʼogi mi aweyogi ka gima ok gin ogandana awuon; ne achiwogi e lweti, kendo ne ok ikechogi. To bende ne iketo tingʼ mapek nyaka ne joma oti.
I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.
7 Ne iwacho niya, Abiro dhi nyime kaka ruoth madhako nyaka chiengʼ! To ne ok iparo gigi maber bende ne ok igo machiemo kuom gik manyalo timore.
You said, ‘I will be a princess forever,’ so that you didn’t lay these things to your heart, nor did you remember the results.
8 “Koro lingʼ thi, in ngʼat moowre marach makawore ni nigi ngima mamalo, kendo iwacho e chunyi iwuon ni, ‘An ema antie kendo onge moro ma dirom koda, ok nachal gi dhako ma chwore otho kata nyithinda ok notho.’
“Now therefore hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me. I won’t sit as a widow, neither will I know the loss of children.’
9 Gik moko ariyogi nochopni, e sa machwok kende e odiechiengʼ achiel: nyithindi notho kendo inibed dhako ma chwore otho. Masichegi duto nochopni, kendo timbe ajuoke gi ris miritorigo ok nokonyi.
But these two things will come to you in a moment in one day: the loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in their full measure, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.
10 Isegeno kuom timbeni mamono kendo isewacho e chunyi ni, ‘Onge ngʼama nena.’ Ngʼeyoni gi riekoni osewuondi kiwacho e chunyi ni, ‘An kenda ema antie, onge machielo.’
For you have trusted in your wickedness. You have said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and your knowledge has perverted you. You have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me.’
11 Masira biro maki, mi ok ningʼe kaka digole kuomi. Adier kwongʼ nogore kuomi ma ok initieki gi misango, ee chandruok maduongʼ ma ok inyal neno sani biro choponi.
Therefore disaster will come on you. You won’t know when it dawns. Mischief will fall on you. You won’t be able to put it away. Desolation will come on you suddenly, which you don’t understand.
12 “Med dhiyo nyime gi timbegi mag jwok kod timbegi mangʼeny mag ajuoke, misebedo kitimo nyaka ia e nyathi; mondo waneane ka digikonyi kata dibwog ji.
“Stand now with your enchantments and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth, as if you might profit, as if you might prevail.
13 Rieko duto mosengʼadni osemana tieki! Koro we jokorgigo obi, jogo makoro wach dwe ka dwe karango sulwe, weyane giresi e gik mabiro timoreni.
You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Now let the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from the things that will happen to you.
14 Adiera gichalo mana tiangʼ, mach biro wangʼogi duto. Ok ginyal resore kata gin giwegi e teko mar mach. Kaonge makaa kata mach minyalo hoyo.
Behold, they are like stubble. The fire will burn them. They won’t deliver themselves from the power of the flame. It won’t be a coal to warm at or a fire to sit by.
15 Mago duto e gik magi nyalo timoni kuom gik ma isechandorine ka itiyo matek nyaka aa tin-ni. Moro ka moro nokwangʼ, kochiko yore owuon kendo onge ngʼama noresi.”
The things that you labored in will be like this: those who have trafficked with you from your youth will each wander in his own way. There will be no one to save you.
