< Isaya 41 >

1 “Lingʼuru e nyima, un pinje mag chula e dier nam! Weuru ogendini obed motegno! Wegiuru gisud machiegni mondo giwuo; kendo warom kaachiel kama ingʼadoe bura.
Listen to me in silence, you people who live in lands beyond the sea. Let the nations regain their strength. Then let them come and speak, and let us join together for judgment.
2 “En ngʼa mosejiwo ngʼat maa yo wuok chiengʼ, kaluonge kuom tim makare mondo otim tichne? Ochiwo ogendini e lwete kendo oloyo Ruodhi e nyime. Otiekogi gi liganglane ma gichal gi buru kendo okeyogi gi asere mana ka mihudhwe ma yamo tero.
Who has encouraged this one from the east who is called into God's service to do what is right? He gives him nations, and helps him trample kings underfoot. He makes them like dust with his sword, and turns them into chaff with his bow, blown before him on the wind.
3 Olawogi matek nyaka e yore mane pok owuothoe kendo okadho yorego maber mak ohinyre.
He chases them down, and goes on unharmed, not following the usual routes.
4 En ngʼa mosetimo kamano mochopo dwarone, koluongo tiengʼ ka tiengʼ nyaka chakre chon? En mana an Jehova Nyasaye, an ema akwongo kendo An ema agik.”
Who has achieved and done this, calling into existence each generation from the beginning of time? I, the Lord, the first and the last, I am the one.
5 Pinje manie chula oseneno wachno mi luoro omakogi; kendo tungʼ piny nyaka tungʼ piny kirni. Gibiro ka gisudo machiegni.
The islands watch in fear, the distant lands tremble. They get together and consult.
6 Kamoro konyo nyawadgi, kendo jiwo wadgi kowachone niya, “Bed gichir!”
They all help each other, encouraging one another to “Be strong!”
7 Kamano japecho jiwo jatheth, kendo ngʼat matiyo gi nyundo, jiwo ngʼatno magoyo musmal, konyiso jawengʼo gi mach niya, “Iriwo nyinyono maber.” Ngʼat machielo to guro nyasacheno motegno mondo kik lwar piny.
The craftsman encourages the goldsmith; the one who beats out the metal with a hammer encourages the one hitting the anvil, saying the soldering is good. They nail the idol down so it won't fall over.
8 “To in, yaye Israel jatichna, un joka Jakobo ma aseyiero, un nyikwa Ibrahim osiepna,
But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, the ones I have chosen, descendants of my friend Abraham,
9 ne agolou e tungʼ piny gi tungʼ piny, kendo ne aluongou kagolou mabor. Ne awacho ni, ‘In jatichna’; aseyieri bende pok akwedi.
I brought you back from distant lands, I called you back from faraway places, telling you, “You are my servants.” I have chosen you, and I have not abandoned you.
10 Omiyo kik ibed maluor, nimar an kodi; bende kik kibaji goyi, nimar an Nyasachi. Abiro miyi teko kendo abiro konyi; bende abiro siri gi bada ma korachwich mar loch.”
Don't be afraid, for I am with you! Don't be frightened for I, your God, will make you strong, and I will certainly help you. I will support you with my strong hand, acting for what is right.
11 “Jogo duto mamon kodi wigi biro kuot ma dhier nono, adier jogo duto makwedi biro lal nono.
See—everyone who is angry with you will be ashamed and disgraced. Those who fight against you will end up as nothing and die.
12 Ibiro manyo wasikigo to ok iniyudgi. Chutho jogo makedo kodi ok nobed gimoro kata matin.”
Even though you look for your enemies, you won't find them. Those who attack you will become absolutely nothing.
13 Nimar an Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachi mamako badi ma korachwich, omiyo awachoni niya, “Kik ibed maluor; abiro konyi.
For I the Lord will grab you by the hand and tell you, “Don't be afraid! I myself will help you.
14 Kik ibed maluor, yaye Jakobo, kata obedo ni inenori ni iyomyom ka kudni kamano, yaye in Israel matin maonge ndhathe kik ibed maluor, nimar an awuon abiro konyi,” Jehova Nyasaye Maler mar Israel, ma Jawarni ema asewacho kamano.
Don't be frightened, Jacob, you little worm, you people of Israel, for I will help you,” declared the Lord your Savior, the Holy One of Israel.
15 “Ne, abiro miyo ichal gi gir dino ngano manyien kendo ma pod lekene bith. Ibiro muko gode madongo kitoyogi matindo tindo kendo inimi gode matindo lokre buru.
Look! I will make you into a new and sharp threshing device, with many pointed teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush the hills, turning them into chaff.
16 Inipiedhgi to yamo nokegi kendo kalausi notergi mabor. To inibed mamor nikech Jehova Nyasaye, kendo inibed gi ilo nikech Nyasaye Maler mar Israel.
You will throw them into the air, the wind will carry them away, and a storm will scatter them. Then you will be happy in the Lord, and boast about the Holy One of Israel.
17 “Joma chandore kendo joma odhier manyo pi, to ok gininwangʼ, omiyo dwondgi otwo nikech riyo ohingogi. To an Jehova Nyasaye abiro resogi; An, ma an Nyasach Israel ok anajwangʼ-gi.
The poor and needy search for water, but don't find any—their tongues are dry with thirst. I, the Lord, will respond to them; I, the God of Israel, won't abandon them.
18 Abiro miyo aore mol kawuok kuonde motwo, kendo sokni biro tuch e holni. Abiro miyo piny motimo ongoro bed gi pi thidhna, kendo kuonde motimo okak sokni nowuogie.
I will open up rivers in the desolate highlands and springs in the valleys. I will make pools in the wilderness and springs in the desert.
19 Abiro miyo yiend sida gi siala, gi ochwoga kod zeituni twi e piny motimo ongoro. Abiro pidho yiende kuonde ma yande ojwangʼ, bap ndege gi obudo nodongʼ kaachiel,
I will plant cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees in the desert. I will place evergreens in the desert, firs and box trees together.
20 mondo ji one kendo ongʼe, mondo gipar kendo gibed giwinjo, ni lwet Jehova Nyasaye ema osetimo kamano, kendo ni Nyasaye Maler mar Israel ema osemiyo magi otimore.”
In this way everyone can see and know, they can think about it and draw the conclusion that the it is the Lord who has done this, that the Holy One of Israel made it happen.
21 Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Kel ane ywakni.” Ruodh Jakobo wacho niya, “Wuouru ane kuom wachni.
“Now you submit your case,” says the Lord. “Present your evidence,” says the King of Jacob.
22 Un nyisecheu manono, nyiswa anena gima biro timore. Nyiswa anena tiend gik mane osetimore, mondo omi wangʼe ni gichalo nade, kendo nyiswa anena kaka gikogi nobedi. Kata nyiswa anena gik mabiro timore,
“Let them come and tell us what's about to happen. Let them explain the things of the past, so that we can think about them and discover the final outcome. Or they can tell us about the future.
23 kendo nyiswa anena ni angʼo mabiro timore, mondo wangʼe ni un nyiseche. Timuru ane gimoro, bed ni ber kata rach, manyalo bwogowa kendo kelo luoro kuomwa.
Predict what's coming so we can know for sure that you are gods. At least do something, good or bad, to impress us when we see it.
24 To kata kamano ok unyal gimoro kendo gik mutimo onge tich; bende ngʼat makwanou ka nyisechene en raura ka un.
But look at you! You're nothing, and you can't do anything! Anyone who chooses you is disgusting!
25 “Asejiwo ngʼato mawuok nyandwat kendo obiro, en ngʼat maa yo wuok chiengʼ maluongo nyinga. Onyono Ruodhi mag piny mana ka lop muono, mi onywasgi mana kaka jachwech nywaso lop chweyo agulu.
I have encouraged the one who comes from the north. He is from the east, and will respect me. He will tread on rulers as if they were mortar, like a potter treading on clay.
26 En ngʼa mane ofwenyo wachni nyaka aa chakruok, mondo wangʼe wachni kata en ngʼa mane fwenye kapok otimore mondo ne wawachi ni, ‘Ne owacho adier’? Onge ngʼato mane owacho ma kata mane owuoyo kuome chon, bende onge ngʼato mane owinjo wach moro amora koa kuomi.
Who announced this beforehand so that we could know about it? Who let us know in the past, so that now we could say: ‘He was right’? None of you announced it, none of you predicted it, and nobody heard you say a word!
27 An ema ne akwongo nyiso Sayun kawachone ni, ‘Ne, eri gin ka!’ Ne aoro jaote mondo oter wach maber Jerusalem.
I was the first to announce to Zion: ‘Look, here they are!’ I was the one who brought to Jerusalem the good news.
28 Ne amanyo to ok aneno ngʼato, onge ngʼato kuomgi manyalo puonjo, bende onge ngʼato e diergi manyalo dwoko penjona.
I look at these idols, and find there is no one who can say anything. None of them can give advice; when I ask them something, they can't even answer.
29 Neuru, nyisechegi duto gin gik manono! Timbegi duto onge tich, kendo kido ma gilamo chalo mana gi yamo kendo gin gik manono.”
Look at them! They're all evil, deceptive things. They can't do anything! They're just idols full of hot air!”
