< Isaya 31 >

1 Mano kaka unune malit, jogo madhi dwaro kony Misri, moketo genogi kuom farese, kendo moketo genogi kuom geche mag lweny mangʼeny magiywayo, kendo kuom teko maduongʼ ma joidh faresegi nigo, to ok uketo genou kuom Jal Maler mar Israel, kata dwaro kony kuom Jehova Nyasaye.
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
2 Kata kamano en bende en gi rieko kendo onyalo kelo chandruok; bende ok olok pache e gima osewacho. Obiro kumo joma timbegi mono, kaachiel gi joricho makonyogi.
Yet he also [is] wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evil-doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
3 To jo-Misri gin mana dhano ma ok Nyasaye; bende faresegi gin mana ringʼo ma ok roho. Ka Jehova Nyasaye norie bade mar kum, jogo machiwo kony nochwanyre, kendo jogo mikonyo nopodh piny; giduto ginilal nono.
Now the Egyptians [are] men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
4 Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye wachona: Mana kaka sibuor ngʼur konyono chiayo mosemako piny, kendo kata obedo ni jokwath duto oyworo ka goyo koko, to ok odew bende ok oluor, e kaka Jehova Nyasaye Maratego, biro biro mondo oked ewi got Sayun.
For thus hath the LORD spoken to me, As the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, [he] will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so will the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
5 Mana kaka winy mafuyo malo, e kaka Jehova Nyasaye Maratego nochiel Jerusalem; nogengʼe kendo norese, noume kendo nokonye.
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver [it]; [and] passing over he will preserve [it].
6 Dwoguru ire, yaye un jo-Israel mosengʼanyo mabor kode.
Turn ye to [him from] whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
7 Nimar e odiechiengno ngʼato ka ngʼato kuomu nowiti nyiseche mag fedha kod dhahabu, ma lwetu motimo richo oseloso.
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made to you [for] a sin.
8 Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Jo-Asuria ibiro tieki gi ligangla ma ok oa e lwet dhano; nimar ligangla ma ok oa e lwedo biro tiekogi. Giniring lweny nikech ligangla, mi yawuotgi ma jolweny nolokgi wasumbini maketgi e tij achuna.
Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
9 Kuondegi mochiel motegno nopodhi mi gidhier nono, kendo jotendgi mag lweny, kibaji nogo ma ok ginyal ringo,” Jehova Nyasaye wacho, en ma maye liel koa Sayun, kendo maye mangʼangʼni ni Jerusalem.
And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire [is] in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
