< Isaya 23 >

1 Ma e wach mokor kuom Turo: Ywaguru, yaye yiedhi mag Tarshish! Nimar Turo osekethi, kendo oweye maonge ot kata dho wath! Wach osechoponegi koa e piny Saipras.
The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. From the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.
2 Lingʼuru thi un joma odak e chula, kendo un jo-ohala madongo man Sidon, un ma jokwangʼ ji osemiyo umewo.
Be still, you inhabitants of the coast, you whom the merchants of Sidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
3 Nam maduongʼ ema cham mag Shihor ngʼado, mwandu mokaa kowuok Nael ema osebedo girkeni mar Turo, kendo osebedo kar ohala mar ogendini.
On great waters, the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue. She was the market of nations.
4 Ininwangʼ wichkuot, yaye Sidon, yaye in, ma in ohinga mar nam, nimar nam osewuoyo niya, “Ok asewinjo rem mar muoch bende pok anywol, ok asepidho yawuowi kata nyiri pok abedogo.”
Be ashamed, Sidon; for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, “I have not travailed, nor given birth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.”
5 Jo-Misri nobed gi kuyo ka wach nochopnegi koa Turo.
When the report comes to Egypt [Abode of slavery], they will be in anguish at the report of Tyre.
6 Ngʼaduru udhi Tarshish denguru, un joma odak e chula.
Pass over to Tarshish! Wail, you inhabitants of the coast!
7 Bende ma e dalau maduongʼ machon mane opongʼ gi mor kod ilo masani koro oke e pinje man kuonde maboyo.
Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her far away to travel?
8 En ngʼa mosechano kelo masirani kuom Turo, wuon loch, ma jo-ohala mage ogen, ma bende jongʼiewo mage ongʼere e piny duto?
Who has planned this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honorable of the earth?
9 Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osechano tieko sunga duto mar joma nigi duongʼ kendo obiro kuodo wi ji duto moluor ahinya e piny.
Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.
10 Pururu lowo manie bath aora Nael, yaye Nyar Tarshish, nikech koro uonge gi dho wath.
Pass through your land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish. There is no restraint any more.
11 Jehova Nyasaye oserieyo bade e nam kendo osemiyo pinyruodhi tetni, bende osegolo chik ne Foenikia mondo otiek gik ma gineno kuomgi.
He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Adonai has enjoined the destruction of Canaan [Humbled]’s strongholds.
12 Nowacho niya, “Ok unuchak ubed gi mor kod ilo, yaye Nyar Sidon Mangili ma osekethi! “Kata bed mana ni ungʼado nam ma udhi Saipras to kuno bende ok unuyudie yweyo.”
He said, “You shall rejoice no more, you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim. Even there you will have no rest.”
13 Neuru piny jo-Babulon, jogi makoro ikwano ka nono! Jo-Asuria osemiyo odongʼ kar le mag thim; kendo negigero kargi mar ngʼicho motingʼore gi malo, ka gilworo dala bende negimuko ohingane duto mi giweye gunda.
Behold, the land of the Chaldeans [Descendants of Loving-kindness]. This people was not. The Assyrians founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their towers. They overthrew its palaces. They made it a ruin.
14 Denguru un yiedhi moa Tarshish, nikech karu mochiel motegno osemuki!
Howl, you ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste!
15 E kindeno wich nowil gi Turo kuom higni piero abiriyo, marom kod ngima mar ruoth achiel, to giko mar higni piero abiriyogi, nobed ne Turo mana kaka wend nyako mochot mawero niya:
It will come to pass in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. After the end of seventy years it will be to Tyre like in the song of the prostitute.
16 “Kaw thumi ilworgo dala maduongʼ, yaye nyako ma jachode makoro wich osewilgo, go thumino mamit, wer wende mangʼeny mondo kanyalore to opari.”
Take a harp; go about the city, you prostitute that has been forgotten. Make sweet melody. Sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
17 To bangʼ higni piero abiriyo Jehova Nyasaye biro kecho Turo mirese. To bangʼe nodogi e tije machon mar chode kendo notim timbene machon mag chode gi pinjeruodhi duto mag piny ngima.
It will happen after the end of seventy years that Adonai will visit Tyre, and she shall make teshuvah ·complete return· to her wages, and will play the prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world on the surface of the earth.
18 To koro ohala moyudo kod chudo kuom tije noket tenge ne Jehova Nyasaye; ok nokan-gi kata kungogi ne en owuon. Ohala moyudo biro dhiyone jogo matiyone Jehova Nyasaye mondo ongʼiewgo chiemo mangʼeny kod lewni mabeyo.
Her merchandise and her wages will be holiness to Adonai. It will not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before Adonai, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
