< Isaya 20 >

1 E higano mane Sargon ruodh Asuria nooro jatend lweny maduongʼ, nodhi Ashdod mi omonje kendo okawe,
In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sendeth him, and he fighteth against Ashdod, and captureth it,
2 kendo e ndalono ema ne Jehova Nyasaye owuoyo kokalo kuom Isaya wuod Amoz. Nowachone niya, “Gony pien gugru manie dendi kendo ilony wuocheni oko e tiendi.” Kendo notimo kamano kowuotho duk gi tiende nono.
at that time spake Jehovah by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, 'Go, and thou hast loosed the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy sandal thou dost draw from off thy foot,' and he doth so, going naked and barefoot.
3 Eka Jehova Nyasaye nowacho niya, “Mana kaka jatichna Isaya oselonyore duk mowuotho gi tiende nono kuom higni adek, kobedo ranyisi kuom gima timore ne Misri kod Kush,
And Jehovah saith, 'As My servant Isaiah hath gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush,
4 omiyo ruodh Asuria biro sembo jo-Misri kod jo-Kush ma osemako duto, jomatindo kod jomadongo. Giniwuoth duge gi tiendegi nono, ka siandagi neno, mi mano nobed wichkuot ni jo-Misri.
so doth the king of Asshur lead the captivity of Egypt, and the removal of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered — the nakedness of Egypt;
5 Ji mane oketo genoni kuom jo-Kush, kendo tingʼore malo nikech jo-Misri nobed gi luoro kod wichkuot.
and they have been affrighted and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,
6 E kindeno jogo modak e dho namni nowach ni, ‘Neuru gima osetimore ne joma waketo genowa kuomgi, joma ne waringo kuomgi mondo okonywa kendo oreswa e lwet ruodh Asuria! To koro, ere kaka wanatony?’”
and the inhabitant of this isle hath said in that day — Lo, thus [is] our trust, Whither we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape — we?'
