< Isaya 14 >
1 Jehova Nyasaye biro kecho Jakobo mi enochak oyier Israel, kendo enomi gidag e pinygi giwegi. Jopinje mamoko nobi irgi mi riwre gi od Jakobo.
For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again He will choose Israel and settle them in their own land. The foreigner will join them and unite with the house of Jacob.
2 Ogendini nochokgi mi duog-gi e gwengegi giwegi. Kendo od Israel nolok ogendini jotichgi, machwo kod mamon e piny Jehova Nyasaye. Ginilok joma noketogi wasumbini, obed wasumbinigi mi giti joma ne thirogi.
The nations will escort Israel and bring it to its homeland. Then the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the LORD’s land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
3 E odiechiengʼ ma Jehova Nyasaye nomiu yweyo kuom chandruok gi masira kod twech malit,
On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced,
4 unugo agoro ni ruodh Babulon ka uwacho niya: Neyeuru kaka giko mar jatend ji chalo, kendo kaka gerone orumo!
you will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has ceased, and how his fury has ended!
5 Jehova Nyasaye oseturo ludh joma timbegi mono, ludh loch mar jotelo,
The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers.
6 mane gisandogo ogendini pile gi gero ka gigoyogi maonge yweyo, kendo ka gitiyogi gi gero malich maonge giko.
It struck the peoples in anger with unceasing blows; it subdued the nations in rage with relentless persecution.
7 Pinje duto oyudo yweyo kod kwe omiyo ji kok gi mor.
All the earth is at peace and at rest; they break out in song.
8 Yiend saipras kod sida mag Lebanon bende mor kodu kawacho ni: “Koro onge ngʼama nochak otongʼwa nikech osetieku.”
Even the cypresses and cedars of Lebanon exult over you: “Since you have been laid low, no woodcutter comes against us.”
9 Piny joma otho otuk duto ka romoni kidonjo kuno, kendo ochiewo chunje joma ne osetho mondo omosi, ma gin jogo duto mane jotelo e piny; omiyo jogo duto mane ruodhi mag ogendini aa malo e kombegi mag loch. (Sheol )
Sheol beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival. It stirs the spirits of the dead to greet you— all the rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones. (Sheol )
10 Giniwuo gi dwol achiel kagiwacho niya, “Kara in bende koro isebedo manyap, mana ka wan; isebedo machal kodwa.”
They will all respond to you, saying, “You too have become weak, as we are; you have become like us!”
11 Tekoni duto osedok piny nyaka ei liel, kaachiel gi thumbe ma yande iwinjo; kudni e pieni minindoe kendo e ongedi ma iumorigo. (Sheol )
Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol, along with the music of your harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your blanket. (Sheol )
12 Mano kaka isepodho kia e polo, yaye ratego, sulwe mar okinyi! Oseboli e piny in ma yande itieko ogendini.
How you have fallen from heaven, O day star, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.
13 Ne iwacho e chunyi niya, “Abiro idho e polo; abiro guro lochna malo moyombo sulwe mag Nyasaye; kendo anabed e kom duongʼ, ewi got mar chokruok, mantiere malo mogik mar got maler.
You said in your heart: “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north.
14 Anaidh malo moyombo boche polo; kendo anachal gi Nyasaye Man Malo Moloyo.”
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 To koro osedwoki piny e bur matut nyaka e piny joma otho. (Sheol )
But you will be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. (Sheol )
16 Ji duto maneni biro ngʼiyi ka giwuoro, kendo penjo ka gihum kuom gima osetimore niya, “Bende ma e ngʼat mane yiengo piny kendo miyo pinjeruodhi tetni,
Those who see you will stare; they will ponder your fate: “Is this the man who shook the earth and made the kingdoms tremble,
17 ngʼat mane omiyo piny duto odongʼ gunda, mane otieko miechgi madongo, kendo mane ok nyal gonyo joma osetweyo odog thuchegi?”
who turned the world into a desert and destroyed its cities, who refused to let the captives return to their homes?”
18 Ruodhi duto mag ogendini onindo komi luor, ka moro ka moro ni e liende owuon.
All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb.
19 In to osejwangʼi oko mar buri mana ka bad yath mojwangʼ; kendo ringri oum gi jogo mosenegi gi ligangla, jogo mowiti e bur motimo kite. Mana ka ringre joma otho minyono gi tielo,
But you are cast out of your grave like a rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and dumped into a rocky pit like a carcass trampled underfoot.
20 ringreni ok noiki kaka noik ruodhi mamoko nimar iseketho piny kendo isenego jogi. Nyithi joma timbegi mono ok nochak oluong nyingegi kendo.
You will not join them in burial, since you have destroyed your land and slaughtered your own people. The offspring of the wicked will never again be mentioned.
21 Yieruru kamoro ma udhi negoe yawuote nikech richo mag kweregi; ok onego giyud thuolo mar bedo gi loch e piny kendo gipongʼe gi miechgi madongo.
Prepare a place to slaughter his sons for the iniquities of their forefathers. They will never rise up to possess a land or cover the earth with their cities.
22 Jehova Nyasaye Maratego wacho niya, “Abiro kedo kodgi. Anagol nyinge oko gi joge motony gi nyithinde kod nyikwaye kuom jo-Babulon.”
“I will rise up against them,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will cut off from Babylon her name and her remnant, her offspring and her posterity,”
23 “Abiro loko kar dakne ochal gi kar dak tula, kendo kar siany; mi anayweye oko kendo tieke chuth.”
“I will make her a place for owls and for swamplands; I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
24 Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osingore niya, “Adier, notimre mana kaka asechano kendo nobedi mana kaka aseparo.
The LORD of Hosts has sworn: “Surely, as I have planned, so will it be; as I have purposed, so will it stand.
25 Abiro tieko jo-Asuria manie pinya, kendo ananyone piny ewi godena. Jok mage nogol kuom joga kendo tingʼne mapek nogol e gok-gi.”
I will break Assyria in My land; I will trample him on My mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”
26 Ma e chenro mabiro timore ne piny ngima; ma e bat moserie kuom ogendini duto.
This is the plan devised for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
27 Nimar Jehova Nyasaye Maratego osechano mar timo ma, en ngʼa manyalo gengʼe? Oserieyo bade, to en ngʼa manyalo tame?
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can thwart Him? His hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
28 Wachni nofwenyore e higa mane ruoth Ahaz othoe.
In the year that King Ahaz died, this burden was received:
29 Kik ubed gi mor un jo-Filistia duto ni luth mane ogougo osetur, nimar koa kuom thuondno nonywol thuond rachier ma kothe nobed gi kwiri marach.
Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For a viper will spring from the root of the snake, and a flying serpent from its egg.
30 Joma odhier moloyo e kind jodhier noyud kuonde kwath kendo joma ochando noywe gi kwe. To kothi natiek gi kech, kendo kejno noneg joma nok modongʼ kuomi.
Then the firstborn of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your remnant will be slain.
31 Dengi, yaye in rangach! Go nduru, yaye in dala maduongʼ! Beduru gi bwok maduongʼ, un jo-Filistia. Rumbi mar iro biro kowuok yo nyandwat kendo onge kata ngʼato achiel madigni kuomgi.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
32 Dwoko mane ma onego omi joote mag pinyno? “Jehova Nyasaye oseguro Sayun, kendo kuome ema joge man-gi lit noyudie resruok.”
What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, where His afflicted people will find refuge.”
