< Isaya 1 >
1 Fweny ma wuoyo ewi Juda kod Jerusalem mane Isaya wuod Amoz oneno e ndalo loch Uzia gi Jotham gi Ahaz kod Hezekia mane gin ruodhi Juda.
The vision of Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah [Praised] and Jerusalem [City of peace], in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah [Praised].
2 Winji yaye polo! Chik iti, yaye piny! Nikech Jehova Nyasaye osewuoyo: asepidho nyithindo mobedo madongo, to gisepiem koda.
Sh'ma ·Hear obey·, heavens, and listen, earth; for Adonai has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 Rwath ongʼeyo wuon, kendo kanyna ongʼeyo kund wuon, to jo-Israel ok ongʼeya adier; joga awuon onge gi winjo.
The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel [God prevails] does not know, my people don’t consider.”
4 Yaye oganda ma joricho, koth ji mogangore gi timbe mamono, kanyakla mar joma timbegi richo, nyithindo mochiwore ne timbe acheje! Giseweyo Jehova Nyasaye; gisejaro Jal Maler mar Israel giselokone ngʼegi.
Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Adonai. They have despised the haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails]. They are estranged and backward.
5 Angʼo momiyo pod usiko kudwaro kum? Angʼo momiyo usiko kungʼanyo? Wiyeu opongʼ gi adhonde kendo chunyu opongʼ gi lit.
Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 Kochakore e tiendu nyaka ewiu onge kama ngima, kendo upongʼ gi adhonde, kuonde moriemo, kod kuonde moridhore mapok oketie yath, mapok otwe kata wiroe yath.
From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.
7 Pinyu odongʼ gunda, miechu madongo osewangʼ gi mach; puotheu jopinje mamoko osemau mana kuneno gi wangʼu, ma gidongʼ gundni mana ka joma wasigu oseriembo.
Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 Nyar Sayun odongʼ ka kiru manie e puoth mzabibu, kata ka abila e puoth budho kendo ka dala maduongʼ ma wasigu omonjo.
The daughter of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.
9 Ka dine Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ok oweyo jomoko kuomwa otony, to dine wachalo gi jo-Sodom, adier dikoro ne wachalo kaka jo-Gomora.
Unless Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom [Burning]; we would have been like Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants].
10 Winjuru wach Jehova Nyasaye un jotelo mag Sodom, chikuru itu ne chike mag Nyasachwa un oganda man Gomora!
Sh'ma ·Hear obey· Adonai’s word, you rulers of Sodom [Burning]! Listen to the Torah ·Teaching· of our God, you people of Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants]!
11 Jehova Nyasaye wacho kama: “Misengini mangʼeny mutimogi amon-go.” Aol gi misengini miwangʼo pep mag imbe kaachiel gi boche mag jamni machwe. Ok amor gi remb rwedhi gi mag imbe kod mag nywogi.
“What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,” says Adonai. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.
12 Ere ngʼama osekwayou gigo ka ubiro e nyima, donge mano en dwanyo hekalu mara maler.
When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?
13 Kik ukel misengini maonge tich e nyima! Tik ubanino dungʼna marach, kendo sewni mutimo ka dwe opor, gi mag Sabato kata e chokruoge duto ok amorgo.
Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t bear with evil assemblies.
14 Sewni mutimo ka dwe opor kod sewni moyier chido chunya, giselokore tingʼ mapek matura bende aol gi tingʼogi.
My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.
15 Ka utingʼo bedeu malo kulemo to anapandnu wangʼa, kendo kata ulem machal nade to ok anadwoku. Lweteu osechwero remo mangʼeny!
When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not sh'ma ·hear obey·. Your hands are full of blood.
16 Lwokreuru mondo ubed maler. Goluru timbeu mamono e wangʼa!
Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
17 Weuru timbeu maricho; to upuonjru timbe mabeyo! Dwaruru tim makare, kendo jiwuru joma ithiro. Bende nyaka une ni nyithind kiye kod mon ma chwogi otho oyal buchegi e yo makare kare.
Learn to do well. Seek mishpat ·justice·. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the orphan. Plead for the widow.”
18 Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Biuru machiegni mondo wapor wach, kata obedo ni richou kwar manade to ibiro luoki magibed matar ka pe, bende kata bed ni gikwar malich to nobed marachar ka pamba.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says Adonai: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 Ka uyie kuoma muboloru kendo umako chikena duto, to unucham gik mabeyo mag piny;
If you are willing and sh'ma ·hearing obedient·, you shall eat the good of the land;
20 to ka udagi kendo ungʼanyo to ligangla notieku.” Nimar an Jehova Nyasaye ema asewacho.
but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Adonai has spoken it.”
21 Neye kaka dala maduongʼ ma yande oluoro Nyasaye koro oselokore ochot! Kinde moko ne en kama adiera odakie, tim makare ne yudore, to tinde jonek ema opongʼe.
How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of mishpat ·justice·; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.
22 Fedha magu oselokore chuoth nyinyo bende divai magu mogen oseruw gi pi.
Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.
23 Jotendu ongʼanyo kendo gin e kanyakla mar jokwoge, giduto gihero asoya, kendo gihero gik makonyogi giwegi. Ok giyal buche nyithind kiye kare, bende weche mamon ma chwogi otho okelo e nyimgi ok gidew.
Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves. Everyone 'ahav ·affectionately loves· bribes, and follows after rewards. They don’t judge the orphan, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.
24 Kuom mano, Ruoth Nyasaye ma en Jehova Nyasaye Maratego, kendo Jehova Nyasaye mar kanyakla mar Israel wacho kama: “Anayud kwe kuom jok ma jara kendo nachul kuor ne wasika.
Therefore the Lord, Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], the Mighty One of Israel [God prevails], says: “Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself on my enemies;
25 Anachwadu gi masiche kendo anapwodhu maler, mi agol timbeu mamono duto.
and I will turn my hand on you, thoroughly purge away your dross, and will take away all your tin.
26 Bangʼe anaduognu jongʼad bura makare kaka ne timore e ndalo machon, kendo jongʼad rieko mane nitie aa chakruok. Eka noluongu ni Dala Maduongʼ mar Tim Makare, Dala Maduongʼ Madiera Nitie.”
I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called ‘The city of righteousness, a faithful town.’
27 Sayun nopwodh gi bura makare bende joma oyie modak e iye norit kod adiera.
Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] shall be redeemed with mishpat ·justice·, and her converts with righteousness.
28 To joma ongʼanyo kod joricho duto gi joma oweyo Jehova Nyasaye notiek chuth.
But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake Adonai shall be consumed.
29 Wiu nokuodi gi tiend yiende mag ober ma umorgo kutimoe misengini, kendo unubed gi kuyo kuom puothe museyiero mondo ulemie.
For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.
30 Ubiro chalo kaka yiend ober ma ite ner kendo kaka puodho ma ok yud pi.
For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.
31 Ngʼat maratego e dieru nodok manyap, kendo tekone nowuog mana ka pilni, kendo gigo duto nowangʼ pep maonge ngʼama nyalo nego majno.
The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them.”
