< Hosea 5 >
1 “Winjuru ma, un jodolo! Chikuru itu, un jo-Israel! Winjuru, yaye jood ruoth! Kumni obironu: Usebedo obadho e Mizpa, gogo mopedhi ewi Tabor.
Hear this, O ye priests, and hearken, O house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king, for to you pertains the judgment. For ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 Joma ongʼanyo ni e tho malich. Abiro kumogi giduto.
And the revolters have gone deep in making slaughter, but I am a rebuker of them all.
3 Angʼeyo gik moko duto kuom Efraim; onge gima opondona kuom jo-Israel. Efraim, un to usedoko kaka ochot; to jo-Israel timo timbe modwanyore.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me. For now, O Ephraim, thou have played the harlot; Israel is defiled.
4 “Timbegi omonogi duogo ir Nyasachgi. Tim marach mar chode ni e chunygi; ok giyie kuom Jehova Nyasaye.
Their doings will not allow them to turn to their God, for the spirit of whoredom is within them, and they do not know Jehovah.
5 Sungruok mar jo-Israel nyiso rachgi; jo-Israel kaachiel gi Efraim podho e richogi; kendo jo-Juda bende podho kodgi.
And the pride of Israel testifies to his face. Therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity. Judah also shall stumble with them.
6 Ka gidhi gi kweth dhogi kaachiel gi chiachgi mondo gitim misengni ni Jehova Nyasaye, to ok giniyude nikech osewuok moa kuomgi.
They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.
7 Gisebedo joma ok jo-adiera ni Jehova Nyasaye; ginywolo nyithindo ma kimirwa. Sewni ma gitimo ka dwe owuok biro tiekogi kaachiel gi puothegi.
They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah, for they have borne strange sons. Now the new moon shall devour them with their fields.
8 “Gouru turumbete e dala mar Gibea, gouru abu e dala mar Rama. Gouru nduru mar lweny e dala mar Beth Aven; yaye, jo-Benjamin teluru.
Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound an alarm at Beth-aven, behind thee, O Benjamin.
9 Efraim biro bet gunda ka chiengʼ makumogie ochopo. Alando gima nyaka timre e kind dhout Israel.
Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke. I have made known that which shall surely be among the tribes of Israel.
10 Jotend Juda chalo gi joma ochoro kite man e kiewo. Abiro olo mirimba kuomgi mana ka pi oula.
The rulers of Judah are like those who remove the landmark. I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Jo-Efraim ibiro toyo ka bura oloyogi, nikech giketo chunygi mar luwo nyiseche manono.
Ephraim is oppressed. He is crushed in judgment, because he was content to walk after man's command.
12 Achalo gi oguyo ne jo-Efraim, achalo gima otop ne jo-Juda.
Therefore I am to Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13 “Ka Efraim noneno tuone, kendo Juda oneno adhondene, eka Efraim nodwaro kony kuom Asuria, kendo gikwayo kony ir ruoth maduongʼ. To ok onyal thiedhou, ok onyal thiedho adhondeu.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb. But he is not able to heal you, nor will he cure you of your wound.
14 Abiro bedo ka sibuor ni Efraim, kaka sibuor malich ni Juda. Abiro kidhogi matindo tindo bangʼe to abiro weyogi. Anatingʼ-gi matergi mabor, maonge ngʼama nyalo resogi.
For I will be to Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away, I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.
15 Bangʼe to anadog kar dakna, nyaka chop kinde maginiyie ni giseketho. Giniduog ira ka gidwara gi chunygi duto nikech thagruok malit magiseyudo.”
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.
