< Jo-Hibrania 4 >

1 Kuom mano, kaka singruok mar donjo kama entie mondo waywe pod nitie, wabeduru motangʼ mondo kik yud ngʼato kuomu ma nigi rem moro ma dimone donjo e yweyono.
Therefore let us be on our guard lest perhaps, while He still leaves us a promise of being admitted to His rest, some one of you should be found to have fallen short of it.
2 Nikech wan bende oseyalnwa Injili mana kaka gin bende noyalnegi, to kata kamano wach mane giwinjo ne ok okelonegi konyruok, nikech ne ok girwake kuom yie.
For Good News has been brought to us as truly as to them; but the message they heard failed to benefit them, because they were not one in faith with those who gave heed to it.
3 Koro wan maweseyie wadonjo e yweyono, mana kaka Nyasaye osewacho niya, “Omiyo mirima nomaka kodgi, mi nasingora ka akwongʼora ni, ‘Ok ginidonji e yweyona ngangʼ.’” Nyasaye nowuoyo kama kata obedo ni nosetieko tije chon chakre kinde manochweyo piny.
We who have believed are soon to be admitted to the true rest; as He has said, "As I swore in My anger, they shall not be admitted to My rest," although God's works had been going on ever since the creation of the world.
4 Nikech owuoyo kuom odiechiengʼ mar abiriyo kamachielo kowacho niya, “To e odiechiengʼ mar abiriyo Nyasaye noyweyo kuom tijene duto.”
For, as we know, when speaking of the seventh day He has used the words, "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works;"
5 To waseneno bende e Ndiko motelo ka Nyasaye wacho niya, “Ok ginidonji e yweyona ngangʼ.”
and He has also declared, "They shall not be admitted to My rest."
6 Kata obedo ni joma noyalnegi Injili mokwongo ne ok odonjo e yweyo mar Nyasaye nikech tok teko, thuolo pod nitie mondo jomoko odonji e yweyono.
Since, then, it is still true that some will be admitted to that rest, and that because of disobedience those who formerly had Good News proclaimed to them were not admitted,
7 Omiyo osechano thuolo machielo moluongo ni Kawuono, ma en e odiechiengno mane owuoyo kuome bangʼe achien gi dho Daudi, mana kaka waseneno motelo, niya, “Kawuono ka uwinjo dwonde to kik chunyu bed mapek.”
He again definitely mentions a certain day, "To-day," saying long afterwards, by David's lips, in the words already quoted, "To-day, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."
8 Nikech ka dine bed ni Joshua ne nyalo miyogi yweyo, to Nyasaye ok dine owuoyo bangʼe kuom odiechiengʼ machielo.
For if Joshua had given them the true rest, we should not afterwards hear God speaking of another still future day.
9 Kuom mano, odiechieng yweyo mar Sabato pod nitie ne jo-Nyasaye;
It follows that there still remains a sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 nikech ngʼato angʼata madonjo e yweyo mar Nyasaye nyaka ywe e tijene, mana kaka Nyasaye bende noyweyo e tijene.
For He who has been admitted to His rest, has rested from His works as God did from His.
11 Kuom mano, watemuru matek kaka wanyalo mondo wadonji e yweyono, mondo kik ngʼato podhi kuom luwo ranyisi marach mar wich teko.
Let it then be our earnest endeavour to be admitted to that rest, so that no one may perish through following the same example of unbelief.
12 Nimar wach Nyasaye ngima kendo tiyo. Obith moloyo ligangla ma dhoge ariyo, kendo opowo chuny dhano nyaka iye mogik, nyaka kuma pach dhano gi chunye jorome, kaachiel gi fuoni gi ondhudho. Kuno ema oketoe bura ne paro kod dwaro malingʼ-lingʼ manie chuny dhano.
For God's Message is full of life and power, and is keener than the sharpest two-edged sword. It pierces even to the severance of soul from spirit, and penetrates between the joints and the marrow, and it can discern the secret thoughts and purposes of the heart.
13 Onge gimoro kata achiel, kuom gik moko duto mane Nyasaye ochweyo, mopondone. Gik moko duto oyawore kendo oelore e nyim tong wangʼ Jal ma wan duto, ngʼato ka ngʼato, nyaka wabi wachungʼ e nyime kwahulo gik moko duto ma wasetimo.
And no created thing is able to escape its scrutiny; but everything lies bare and completely exposed before the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
14 Kuom mano kaka koro wan gi Jadolo Maduongʼ mosedhi nyaka e polo, ma en Yesu Wuod Nyasaye, wamakuru yie mwahulo matek.
Inasmuch, then, as we have in Jesus, the Son of God, a great High Priest who has passed into Heaven itself, let us hold firmly to our profession of faith.
15 Nikech ok wan gi jadolo maduongʼ ma ok nyal kechowa e nyawowa, to wan gi mano manyalo kechowa, to nikech en bende noteme gi kit tembe duto mwayudo, makmana ni en noonge gi richo.
For we have not a High Priest who is unable to feel for us in our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in every respect just as we are tempted, and yet did not sin.
16 Kuom mano, wasuduru but kom duongʼ mar ngʼwono ka wan gi chir, mondo wayud kech gi ngʼwono e sa mwadware kony.
Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need.
