< Jo-Hibrania 1 >
1 Kinde machon Nyasaye nowuoyo gi kwerewa e yore mangʼeny kendo mopogore opogore, kokalo kuom jonabi,
God, who, of old, at many times and in many ways, spoke to our ancestors, by the Prophets,
2 to e ndalo mogikgi osewuoyo kodwa kokalo kuom Wuode owuon. Wuodeno ema oseketo mwandune duto e lwete, kendo en ema nochweyo gik moko duto kuome. (aiōn )
has in these latter days spoken to us by the Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. (aiōn )
3 Wuowi ema rieny gi duongʼ maler mar Nyasaye, kendo en e kit Nyasaye hie momako gik moko duto gi wachne man-gi teko. Kane oseloso yor pwodhruok e richo to nobet piny e polo, e bat korachwich mar Nyasaye Man Malo Moloyo duto.
For he is the radiance of the Glory of God and the very expression of his Being, upholding all creation by the power of his word; and, when he had made an expiation for the sins of men, he ‘took his seat at the right hand’ of God’s Majesty on high,
4 Kuom mano, nobedo gi duongʼ moloyo malaike mana kaka nying mane omiye bende nigi duongʼ moloyo malaika.
having shown himself as much greater than the angels as the Name that he has inherited surpasses theirs.
5 Koso gin malaike mage mane Nyasaye onyiso niya, “In Wuoda; kawuono asedoko Wuonu”? Kata ni, “Anabed Wuon-gi to enobed Wuoda”?
For to which of the angels did God ever say — ‘Thou art my Son; this day I have become thy Father’? or again — ‘I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son’?
6 To bende, ka Nyasaye kelo Wuode makayo e piny to owacho niya, “Malaike duto mag Nyasaye mondo olame.”
And again, when God brought the First-born into the world, he said — ‘Let all the angels of God bow down before him.’
7 Kowuoyo kuom malaike to owacho niya, “Omiyo malaikane bedo yembe, kendo jotichne kaka ligek mach.”
Speaking of the angels, he said — ‘He makes the winds his angels And the fiery flames his servants’;
8 To kuom Wuowi to owuoye niya, “Lochni nosik nyaka chiengʼ, yaye Nyasaye, kendo tim makare ema nobed kaka ludh loch e pinyruodhi. (aiōn )
while of the Son he said — ‘God is thy throne for ever and ever; The sceptre of his Kingdom is the sceptre of Justice; (aiōn )
9 Isehero tim makare to imon gi timbe maricho; emomiyo Nyasaye ma Nyasachi osetingʼi malo moyombo jowadu, nikech osewiri gi mo mamiyi mor.”
Thou lovest righteousness and hatest iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the festal oil more abundantly than thy peers.’
10 Kamachielo bende owachoe niya, “Yaye Ruoth, kar chakruok ne iketo mise mag piny kendo polo bende gin tij lweti.
Again — ‘Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of thy hands.
11 Gin to ginilal nono, In to isiko manyaka chiengʼ, giduto giniti mana kaka law ti.
They shall perish, but thou remainest; As a garment they shall all grow old;
12 Iniban-gi giduto mana kaka ibano kandho, kendo inilokgi mana kaka iloko nanga. In to isiko ichalri mana kaka in, kendo hiki ok norum.”
As a mantle thou wilt fold them up, And as a garment they shall be changed, But thou art the same, and thy years shall know no end.’
13 Koso gin malaike mage ma Nyasaye nonyiso niya, “Bed e bada ma korachwich, nyaka chop aket wasiki, e bwo tiendi”?
To which of the angels has God ever said — ‘Sit thou at my right hand Until I put thy enemies as a stool for thy feet’?
14 Donge malaike duto gin roho ma Nyasaye oketo mondo oti ni joma Nyasaye biro reso?
Are not all the angels spirits in the service of God, sent out to minister for the sake of those who are destined to obtain Salvation?
