1 Kuom mano Israel nowuok kod gige duto, kendo kane ochopo Bersheba, notimo misango ne Nyasach Isaka wuon-gi.
So Israel brake up, with all that he had, and came in to Beer-sheba, —and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2 Kendo Nyasaye nowuoyogi Israel e fweny gotieno kendo owachone niya, “Jakobo! Jakobo!” Nodwoke niya, “Antie.”
And God said to Israel in the visions of the night, and he said—Jacob! Jacob! And he said—Behold me!
3 Nyasaye nowachone niya, “An Nyasaye ma Nyasach wuonu. Kik iluor dhi Misri, nikech anami ibedi oganda maduongʼ kuno.
And he said: I, am GOD himself, the God of thy father, —Be not afraid of going down to Egypt, seeing that for a great nation, will I plant thee there.
4 Abiro dhi kodi Misri kendo nachak aduogi ka adier kendo Josef ema noyuo wangʼi sa thoni.”
I will go down with thee to Egypt, and I will bring thee up, yea wholly up, —and, Joseph, shall lay his own hand upon thine eyes.

So Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba, —and the sons of Israel brought Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the waggons which Pharaoh had sent to bring him;

and they took their cattle and the gains which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, —Jacob and all his seed with him:

his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed, brought he with him into Egypt.
8 Magi e nying yawuot Israel (ma tiende ni Jakobo kod nyikwaye) mane odhi Misri. Reuben ema ne wuod Jakobo makayo.
Now, these, are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt—Jacob and his sons, —the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben:
9 Yawuot Reuben ne gin: Hanok, Palu, Hezron kod Karmi.
And, the sons of Reuben, —Hanoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi;
10 Yawuot Simeon ne gin: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar kod Shaul mane wuod nyar Kanaan.
And, the sons of Simeon, —Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, —and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess;
11 Yawuot Lawi ne gin: Gershon, Kohath kod Merari.
And the sons of Levi, —Gershon, Kohath and Merari;
12 Yawuot Juda ne gin: Er, Onan, Shela, Perez kod Zera (to Er kod Onan ne otho e piny Kanaan). Yawuot Perez ne gin: Hezron kod Hamul.
And the sons of Judah, —Er and Onan and Shelah, and Perez and Zerah, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul;
13 Yawuot Isakar ne gin: Tola, Pua, Jashub kod Shimron.
And, the sons of Issachar, —Tola and Puvah, and Iob and Shimron;
14 Yawuot Zebulun ne gin: Sered, Elon kod Jalel.
And the sons of Zebulon, —Sered and Elon, and Jahleel.
15 Magi e yawuowi mane Lea onywolo ne Jakobo e piny mar Padan Aram, ka ok okwan Dina nyare. Yawuote kod nyige duto ne piero adek gadek.
These, are the sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah also his daughter, —All the souls of his sons and of his daughters, were thirty-three.
16 Yawuot Gad ne gin: Zefon, Hagi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi kod Areli.
And, the sons of Gad, —Zaphon and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, —Eri and Arodi and Areli;
17 Yawuot Asher ne gin: Imna, Ishva, Ishvi kod Beria. Nyamin-gi ne en Sera. Yawuot Beria ne gin: Heber kod Malkiel.
And, the sons of Asher, —Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah, and Serah their sister, —and the sons of Beriah, Heber and Malchiel.
18 Magi e nyithindo mane Zilpa, jatich mane Laban omiyo nyare Lea onywolo ne Jakobo. Giduto ne gin nyithindo apar gauchiel.
These, are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —sixteen souls.
19 Yawuot Rael chi Jakobo ne gin: Josef kod Benjamin.
The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, —Joseph and Benjamin;
20 Asenath nyar Potifera, jadolo mar On nonywolone Josef Manase kod Efraim e piny Misri.
And there were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, bare to him: Manasseh and Ephraim;
21 Yawuot Benjamin ne gin: Bela, Beker, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Mupim, Hupim kod Ard.
And the sons of Benjamin—Bela and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, —Muppim and Huppim, and Ard.
22 Magi e yawuowi mane Rael onywolone Jakobo. Giduto ne gin ji apar gangʼwen.
These, are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob, —all the souls, were fourteen.
23 Wuod Dan ne en Hushim.
And, the sons of Dan, —Hushim;
24 Yawuot Naftali ne gin: Jaziel, Guni, Jezer kod Shilem.
And the sons of Naphtali, —Jahzeel and Guni, and Jezer and Shillem.
25 Magi e yawuowi mane Bilha, jatich mane Laban omiyo Rael nyare onywolone Jakobo. Giduto ne gin ji abiriyo.
These, are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —all the souls, were seven.
26 Ji duto mane odhi gi Jakobo Misri, tiende ni nyithinde hie ka ok okwan mond yawuote ji piero auchiel gi auchiel.
All the souls that came in with Jacob to Egypt that had come forth of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, —all the souls, were sixty-six;
27 Joka Jakobo duto mane odhi Misri ne gin ji piero abiriyo koriwore gi yawuowi ariyo mane Josef onywolo Misri.
and, the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: All the souls of the house of Jacob that came into Egypt, were seventy.
28 Omiyo Jakobo nooro Juda mondo odhi ir Josef mondo obi oromnegi ka gidhi Goshen. Kane gichopo e gwengʼ mar Goshen,
And he sent, Judah, before him unto Joseph, to direct his face to Goshen, —so they came in towards the land of Goshen.
29 Josef noiko gache kendo oikore mar dhi Goshen mondo odhi oromne wuon-gi Israel. Kane Josef ochopo ire, nokwako wuon-gi kendo oywak kuom kinde malach.
Then yoked Joseph his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father towards Goshen, —and he appeared unto him, and fell upon his neck, and wept upon his neck a good while.
30 Israel nowacho ne Josef niya, “Koro kata ka atho, to onge wach, nikech aseneno an awuon ni kara pod ingima.”
Then said Israel unto Joseph I am ready to die at last, —now that I have seen thy face, in that thou art, yet alive.
31 Eka Josef nowacho ne owetene kod jood wuon mare duto niya, “Abiro dhi mondo awuo gi Farao kendo abiro wachone ni, ‘Owetena kod jood wuora duto mane odak e piny Kanaan osebiro ira.
Then said Joseph unto his brethren and unto the house of his father, I must go up, and must tell Pharaoh—and must say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father, who were in the land of Canaan, have come in unto me.
32 Jogi gin jokwath; gikwayo jamni, kendo gisebiro kod kwethgi kod dhogi kod gigegi duto.’
Now, the men, are feeders of flocks, for men of cattle, they are, —and their flocks and their herds and all that they have, have they brought in.
33 Ka Farao oluongou kendo openjou ni, ‘Utiyo angʼo?’
So shall it come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call for you, —and shall say—What is your occupation?
34 to nyaka uwachne ni, ‘Jotichgi osebedo jokwath chakre tindowa, mana kaka kwerewa notimo.’ Eka ibiro yienu mondo udag e gwengʼ Goshen, nikech jo-Misri ok ohero jokwath.”
Then shall ye say—Men of cattle, have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, —To the end ye may dwell in the land of Goshen, for an abomination to Egyptians, is every feeder of a flock,
