1 Ibrahim nokendo dhako machielo mane nyinge Ketura.
And Abraham adds and takes a wife, and her name [is] Keturah;
2 Ketura nonywolone Ibrahim, Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak kod Shua.
and she bears to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 Jokshan nonywolo Sheba kod Dedan; nyikwa Dedan ne gin jo-Ashur, jo-Letush kod jo-Leum.
And Jokshan has begotten Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim;
4 Midian nonywolo Efa, Efer, Hanok, Abida kod Elda. Magi duto ne gin nyikwa Ketura.
and the sons of Midian [are] Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these [are] sons of Keturah.
5 Ibrahim nomiyo Isaka mwandune duto mane en-go.
And Abraham gives all that he has to Isaac;
6 To kane pod ongima, nochiwo mich ne yawuot monde ma jotichge kendo nodarogi mondo gia kuom Isaka koterogi e piny man yo wuok chiengʼ.
and to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham has, Abraham has given gifts, and sends them away from his son Isaac (in his being yet alive) eastward, to the east country.
7 Ibrahim nodak kuom higni mia achiel gi piero abiriyo gabich
And these [are] the days of the years of the life of Abraham, which he lived, one hundred and seventy-five years;
8 Eka Ibrahim notho koluwo kwerene ka en gi higni mathoth ka en ngʼama oti kendo hike ngʼeny.
and Abraham expires, and dies in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered to his people.
9 Yawuot, Isaka kod Ishmael noyike e rogo man Makpela machiegni gi Mamre e puoth Efron ma wuod Zohar ja-Hiti,
And his sons Isaac and Ishmael bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre—
10 ma en puodho ma Ibrahim nongʼiewo kuom jo-Hiti. Kanyo ema Ibrahim gi Sara chiege noyikie.
the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth—there Abraham has been buried, and his wife Sarah.
11 Bangʼ tho Ibrahim, Nyasaye nogwedho wuode Isaka, mane kindeno odak Beer-Lahai-Roi.
And it comes to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesses his son Isaac; and Isaac dwells by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder.
12 Ma e nonro mar Ishmael wuod Ibrahim mane Hagar jatich Sara ma nyar Misri onywolone.
And these [are] the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, has borne to Abraham;
13 Magi e nying yawuot Ishmael kaluwore gi nywolgi: Nebayoth, wuod Ishmael makayo, Kedar, Adbel, Mibsam,
and these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 Mishma, Duma, Masa,
and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Nafish kod Kedema.
Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 Magi e nying yawuot Ishmael ma nying-gi nochak miechgi kod kuonde mane gibworoe, ne gin ruodhi apar gariyo ngʼato ka ngʼato gi ogandane.
these are sons of Ishmael, and these [are] their names, by their villages, and by their towers; twelve princes according to their peoples.
17 Ishmael nodak kuom higni mia achiel kod piero adek gabiriyo. Eka notho kendo oluwo kwerene.
And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expires, and dies, and is gathered to his people;
18 Nyikwaye nodak e gwengʼ manie kind Havila nyaka Shur, machiegni gi tongʼ Misri kochomo yo Ashur kendo negidak kagimonre gowetene.
and they dwell from Havilah to Shur, which [is] before Egypt, in [your] going toward Asshur; in the presence of all his brothers has he fallen.
19 Mae nonro Isaka wuod Ibrahim. Ibrahim nonywolo Isaka,
And these [are] the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham has begotten Isaac;
20 kendo Isaka ne ja-higni piero angʼwen kane okendo Rebeka nyar Bethuel ja-Aram mane odak e piny Padan Aram, kendo ma nyamin Laban.
and Isaac is a son of forty years in his taking Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramean, from Padan-Aram, sister of Laban the Aramean, to him for a wife.
21 Isaka nolamo Jehova Nyasaye ne chiege, nikech en migumba. Jehova Nyasaye nodwoko lamone, kendo chiege Rebeka nomako ich.
And Isaac makes plea to YHWH before his wife, for she [is] barren: and YHWH accepts his plea, and his wife Rebekah conceives,
22 Nyithindo ne olarore e iye mi nowacho niya, “Angʼo momiyo ma timorena?” Omiyo nodhi mondo openj Jehova Nyasaye wachni.
and the children struggle together within her, and she says, “If [it is] right—why [am] I thus?” And she goes to seek YHWH.
23 Jehova Nyasaye nowacho niya, “Ogendini ariyo ni e iyi, kendo ogendini ariyogo biro pogore; oganda moro biro bedo motegno moloyo machielo kendo wuowi maduongʼ noti ne wuowi matin.”
And YHWH says to her, “Two nations [are] in your womb, and two peoples from your bowels are parted; and the [one] people is stronger than the [other] people; and the older serves the younger.”
24 Kane kinde mar nywol ochopo, to ne nitie rude ma yawuowi e iye.
And her days to bear are fulfilled, and behold, twins [are] in her womb;
25 Mano mane okwongo wuok ne kwar, kendo dende duto ne chalo motimo yier; kuom mano negichake ni Esau.
and the first comes out all red as a hairy robe, and they call his name Esau;
26 Bangʼ ma owadgi nowuok kod lwete komako ofunj tiend Esau; kuom mano negichako Jakobo. Isaka ne ja-higni piero auchiel kane Rebeka onywolo yawuowigo.
and afterward his brother has come out, and his hand is taking hold on Esau’s heel, and one calls his name Jacob; and Isaac [is] a son of sixty years in her bearing them.
27 Yawuowigo nodongo, kendo Esau nobedo jadwar molony, ngʼat ma jathim, to Jakobo to ne ngʼama muol madak ei hema.
And the youths grew, and Esau is a man acquainted [with] hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob [is] a plain man, inhabiting tents;
28 Isaka ma nohero ring le nohero Esau to Rebeka nohero Jakobo.
and Isaac loves Esau, for [his] game [is] in his mouth; and Rebekah is loving Jacob.
29 Chiengʼ moro kane Jakobo tedo ogira, Esau nodonjo koa e dwar kodenyo.
And Jacob boils stew, and Esau comes in from the field, and he [is] weary;
30 Esau nowacho ne Jakobo niya, “Asayi miya ogira makwarno adenyo!” (Mano emomiyo bende iluonge ni Edom.)
and Esau says to Jacob, “Please let me eat some of this red-red thing, for I [am] weary”; therefore [one] has called his name Edom;
31 Jakobo nodwoke niya, “Kuong iusna duongʼni mar nywol.”
and Jacob says, “Sell your birthright to me today.”
32 Esau nowachone niya, “Ne achiegni tho. Ere ohala ma ayudo kuom duongʼ mar nywolna?”
And Esau says, “Behold, I am going to die, and what is this to me—a birthright?”
33 To Jakobo nowachone niya, “Kwongʼrina mokwongo.” Kuom mano Esau nokwongʼore ne Jakobo, ma ousone duongʼne mar nywol.
And Jacob says, “Swear to me today”: and he swears to him, and sells his birthright to Jacob;
34 Eka Jakobo nomiyo Esau kuon gi ogich ngʼor. Nochiemo kendo ometho, eka ne ochungʼ mi odhi. Kuom mano Esau, nojwangʼo duongʼne mar nywol.
and Jacob has given bread and stew of lentils to Esau, and he eats, and drinks, and rises, and goes; and Esau despises the birthright.
