< Chakruok 21 >
1 Koro Jehova Nyasaye notimo ngʼwono ne Sara kaka nosewacho kendo Jehova Nyasaye nochopo kare singruok mane osenyiso Sara.
Now, Yahweh, visited Sarah, as he had said, —And Yahweh did for Sarah as he had spoken.
2 Sara nomako ich kendo nonywolone Ibrahim wuowi ka Ibrahim hike oniangʼ, mana e kinde mane Nyasaye osingore.
So, Sarah, conceived and bare, to Abraham, a son, for his old age, at the set time, of which God had spoken with him.
3 Ibrahim nochako wuowi mane Sara onywolone ni Isaka.
And Abraham called the name of his son that was born to him, whom, Sarah, bare to him, Isaac.
4 Kane wuode Isaka nigi ndalo aboro, Ibrahim notere nyangu kaka Nyasaye nochike.
And Abraham circumcised Isaac his son, when eight days old, —as God commanded him.
5 Ibrahim ne ja-higni mia achiel kane onywol Isaka wuode.
Now Abraham was a hundred years old, —when Isaac his son was born to him.
6 Sara nowacho niya, “Nyasaye osekelona mor kendo ji duto mowinjo ma biro bedo mamor koda.”
And Sarah said, A laughing, hath God made for me, —Everyone that heareth will laugh with me.
7 Kendo nomedo wacho niya, “Ngʼama dine nyis Ibrahim ni Sara didhodh nyathi? To koro asenywolone wuowi ka en ngʼama oti.”
And she said—Who would have announced to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled children? yet have I borne a son, for his old age!
8 Nyathino nodongo kendo nowe dhoth, kendo chiengʼ mane Isaka oweyoe dhoth Ibrahim notimo nyasi maduongʼ.
And the child grew, and was weaned, —and Abraham made a great banquet, on the day of the weaning of Isaac.
9 Chiengʼ moro Sara noneno ka Ishmael mane Hagar nyar Misri onywolo ne Ibrahim ka jotugo gi Isaka kendo jare.
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian woman whom she had borne to Abraham laughing!
10 Omiyo Sara nowacho ne Ibrahim niya, “Riemb dhako ma misumbani kod wuode, nimar wuod dhako ma misumbani ok nobed jacham girkeni kaachiel gi wuoda Isaka.”
So she said to Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son, —for the son of this bondwoman must not inherit with my son with Isaac.
11 Gino nochwanyo Ibrahim ahinya nikech wachno neni kuom wuode.
And the word was very grievous in the eyes of Abraham, —on account of his son.
12 To Nyasaye nowacho ne Ibrahim niya, “Kik chunyi bed gi chwanyruok nikech wuodi Ishmael kod jatichni madhako, Hagar. Winj gimoro amora ma Sara jaodi wachoni; nikech kuom wuodi Isaka ema kothi duto nowuogie.
And God said unto Abraham Let it not be grievous in thine eyes concerning the boy and concerning thy bondwoman, In all that Sarah may say unto thee, hearken to her voice, —For in Isaac, shall there be called to thee—a seed.
13 Abiro miyo wuod jatichni madhako bed oganda maduongʼ nikech en bende en rembi.”
Yet even the son of the bondwoman, will I appoint to become, a nation, because thy seed, he is.
14 Kinyne gokinyi mangʼich Ibrahim nokawo chiemo kod puga mar pi kendo nomiyo Hagar. Noketonegi e goke kendo ogole odhi gi wuode. Hagar nowuok modhi kendo nobayo abaya e thim mar Bersheba.
So Abraham rose up early in the morning—and took bread and a skin of water and gave unto hagar, —putting them on her shoulder and the child, and sent her forth, —so she went her way and wandered, in the desert of Beer-sheba.
15 Ka pi mane ni e puga norumo, noketo nyathi e tiend bungu.
And the water out of the skin was spent, —so she cast the child under one of the shrubs;
16 Eka nowuotho odhi nyime kama dirom fut adek kendo nobedo piny kanyo, mi nowacho e chunye niya, “Ok anyal rango nyathi katho.” Kendo kane obet machiegni kanyo, nyathi nochako ywak.
and went and sat her down over against him at a distance like as of such as draw the bow, for she said Let me not look upon the death of the child, —So she sat down over against him, and the boy lifted up his voice, and wept
17 Nyasaye nowinjo nyathi kaywak kendo malaika mar Nyasaye noluongo Hagar gie polo kendo owachone niya, “Angʼo marach, Hagar? Kik iluor; Nyasaye osewinjo nyathi kaywak kama onindeno.
And God heard the voice of the boy, and a messenger of God called unto Hagar out of the heavens; and said to her, What aileth thee, Hagar? Do not fear, for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the boy where he is.
18 Kaw nyathi kendo itingʼe, nikech anami nyikwaye obed oganda maduongʼ.”
Arise lift up the boy, and hold him up with thy hand, —for, a great nation, will I make him.
19 Eka Nyasaye noyawo wengene kendo oneno soko mar pi. Kuom mano nodhi mopongʼo puga gi pi kendo nomiyo nyathi omodho.
And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, —and went and filled the skin with water, and gave drink unto the boy
20 Nyasaye ne ni kod wuowino kane odongo kendo nodak e thim mobedo jadwar molony.
And it came to pass that God was with the boy, and he grew, —and dwelt in the desert, and he became as he grew up, an archer,
21 Kane odak e thim mar Paran, min mare noyudone nyako mokendo koa e piny Misri.
And he dwelt in the desert of Paran, —and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22 E kindeno Abimelek kod Fikol jatend jolweny mar Abimelek nowacho ne Ibrahim niya, “Nyasaye ni kodi e gimoro amora mitimo.
And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech, with Phicol chieftain of his host, spake unto Abraham, saying, —God, is with thee in all that, thou art doing.
23 Koro kwongʼrina e nyim Nyasaye kawuono ni ok nitimna gimoro marach kata ne nyithinda kata ne nyikwaya. Emomiyo koro timna ngʼwono kaachiel gi pinyni ma intie kaka jadak mana kaka an bende ne atimoni maber.”
Now, therefore, swear to me by God, here, that thou wilt not deal falsely by me, nor by mine offspring, nor by my descendants, —according to the lovingkindness wherewith I have dealt with thee, shalt thou deal with me, and with the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24 Ibrahim nodwoke niya, “Asingora ni anatim kamano.”
And Abraham said, I, will swear.
25 Ibrahim nonyiso Abimelek chandruok mar soko mar pi ma jotich Abimelek nomaye githuon.
But Abraham reproved Abimelech, —on account of the well of water, which the servants of Abimelech had seized.
26 To Abimelek nowacho niya, “Ok angʼeyo ngʼama osetimo mae. Ne ok inyisa, ma kawuono ema akwongo winje.”
And Abimelech said, I know not, who hath done this thing, —nor hast even thou, ever told me, nor have even I, ever heard, save to-day.
27 Kuom mano Ibrahim nokelo rombe kod dhok mi omiyogi Abimelek, kendo ji ariyogi notimo singruok.
And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave to Abimelech, —and they two solemnised a covenant
28 Ibrahim nowalo rombe ma sibini abiriyo mag kwethge,
So then Abraham set seven young sheep of the flock by them-selves,
29 kendo Abimelek nopenjo Ibrahim niya, “Ere tiend rombe ma sibini abiriyo ma isewalogi?”
And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What, then mean these seven young sheep here, which thou hast set by themselves?
30 Ibrahim nodwoke niya, “Kaw nyirombe abiriyogi kaka ranyisi ni nakunyo sokoni.”
And he said, The seven young sheep, shalt thou take at my hand, —that they may serve as my witness, that I digged this well.
31 Mano emomiyo kanyo iluongo ni Bersheba nikech ji ariyogo notimo singruok kanyo.
On this account, was the name of that place called Beer-sheba ["oath well"], —because there, had they two sworn.
32 Bangʼ ka winjruok nosetim Bersheba, Abimelek kod Fikol ma jatend jolwenje nodok e piny jo-Filistia.
And when they had solemnised a covenant in Beer-sheba, —then arose Abimelech, with Phicol chief of his host, and returned unto the land of the Philistines.
33 Ibrahim nopidho yien moro Bersheba, kendo kanyo noluongo nying Jehova Nyasaye, Nyasaye manyaka chiengʼ.
Then planted he a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, —and called there on the name of Yahweh the age-abiding GOD.
34 Kendo Ibrahim nodak e piny jo-Filistia kuom kinde mangʼeny.
So Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
