Jo-Galatia 2
1 Bangʼ higni apar gangʼwen ne achako adok Jerusalem, ka wan gi Barnaba kendo Tito bende ne wadhigo.
Fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus also with me.
2 Ne adhi nikech fweny mane ayudo, ka aketonegi ler kuom Injili mane ayalo ni joma ok jo-Yahudi. To ne atimo mano lingʼ-lingʼ ni jogo mane chalo jotelo, nimar ne aluor ni dipo ka tija mar lando Injili obet kayiem nono.
But I went up according to a divine revelation, and laid before them the gospel which I preach among the gentiles: though privately to those of note, least I should run, or had run in vain.
3 To kata Tito, mane ni koda, ne ochun mondo oter nyangu, kata obedo ni ne en ja-Yunani.
But even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was not compelled to be circumcised;
4 Nobet kamano, nikech jomoko mawuondore ni jowete nobiro kanyo lingʼ-lingʼ mondo onon ane thuolo manade ma wan-go kuom bedo jo-Kristo Yesu, nikech jogi ne dwaro lokowa wasumbini.
and that because of the false brethren clandestinely introduced, who had crept in as spies upon our liberty, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
5 To ne ok waweyonegi thuolo kata matin, mondo eka adiera mar Injili kik lalnu.
to whom we yielded no submission, not even for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
6 Ne ok adewo wach jogo mane nenore ka jotelo, nimar ne ok gimiya wach moro manyien nikech Nyasaye ok odewo nenruok ma oko mar dhano.
And as to those who seemed to be men of note, whatever they were, it is all one to me, (God accepteth no man's person) for even these eminent persons added nothing more to me.
7 Kar timo kamano to negineno ni Nyasaye ne osemiya tich mar yalo Injili ne joma ok jo-Yahudi, mana kaka Petro bende nosemi tich mar yalo ni jo-Yahudi.
But on the contrary, seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of uncircumcision, as Peter was with that of the circumcision;
8 Nikech Nyasaye achiel mane tiyo gi Petro e yalone kaka jaote e kind jo-Yahudi ema bende ne tiyo koda kaka jaote ni joma ok jo-Yahudi.
(for He who wrought effectually in Peter as to the apostleship of the circumcision, wrought effectually also in me as to the gentiles: )
9 Jogo mane ji oyiego kaka sirni, ma gin; Jakobo, Petro kod Johana, noriwa lwedo kaachiel gi Barnaba kane gineno ngʼwono mane omiya. Ne giyie mondo wadhi wayal ni joma ok jo-Yahudi, ka gin to gidhi ir jo-Yahudi.
and knowing the grace which was given to me; James, and Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars of the church, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
10 Gimoro achiel mane gikwayowa mondo kik wiwa wilgo ne en ni mondo wadhi nyime gi konyo joma odhier, gima an awuon ne aikora timo.
Only desiring that we would remember the poor: which I also was forward to do.
11 Kane Petro obiro Antiokia, ne akwere e wangʼe nikech kethone ne nenore ratiro.
But when Peter came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was indeed to be blamed.
12 Ka jo-Israel moko ne pod ok obiro koa ir Jakobo, Petro ne thoro chiemo gi joma ok jo-Yahudi. To kane gichopo, Petro nongʼwony mi opogore gi joma ok jo-Yahudi nikech ne oluorogi.
For before certain men came from James, he did eat with the gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision.
13 Jo-Yahudi mamoko bende nodonjo kode e wuondruokneno, mi nyaka Barnaba bende noriwore kode e wuondruokno.
And the rest of the Jews dissembled also with him; so that Barnabas too was carried away with their dissimulation.
14 Kane aneno ni wuondruokgino opogore gi adiera mar Injili, ne awacho ne Petro ka giduto giwinjo niya, “Ka in iwuon in ja-Yahudi, to itimo timbe joma ok jo-Yahudi, koro marangʼo ichuno joma ok jo-Yahudi mondo oluw timbe jo-Yahudi?
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, ---If thou, who art a Jew, livest sometimes after the manner of the gentiles, and not like the Jews, why dost thou now in a manner compel the gentiles to judaize?
15 “Wan wawegi nonywolwa jo-Yahudi to ok joma ok jo-Yahudi ma joricho,
We, who are Jews by birth, and not sinners of the gentiles,
16 wangʼeyo ni dhano ok nyal ket kare kuom mako Chik, to mana kuom yie kuom Yesu Kristo. Omiyo kata mana wan bende waseketo yiewa kuom Kristo Yesu, mondo eka oketwa kare kuom yie kuom Kristo, to ok kuom mako chik, nikech onge ngʼama ibiro ket kare nikech mako chik.
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 “Kapo ni wan mwaseyie kuom Kristo mondo oketwa kare ema pod yudore ni wan joricho, to mano dinyis ni Kristo jiwo richo e ngimawa koso? Ok kamano ngangʼ!
But if while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin?
18 Ka achako agero gik mane amuko, to mano nyiso malongʼo ni an jaketh chik.
God forbid. And if I build again the same things which I demolished, I shew myself a transgressor: for I through the law am dead to the law,
19 “Nikech korka chik to ne asetho kuom chik mondo eka abed mangima ne Nyasaye.
that I might live unto God.
20 Osegura kaachiel gi Kristo, kendo an koro ok ema angima, to Kristo ema ngima kuoma. Ngima makoro angimago e ringra an-go mana kuom yie ma ayiego kuom Wuod Nyasaye, mane ohera kendo ochiwore owuon ni an.
I am crucified with Christ; yet I live, though no longer I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave up himself for me.
21 Ok anyal kawo ngʼwono Nyasaye ka gir tugo, nikech ka dipo ni ngima makare inyalo yudo kuom mako Chik, to kare Kristo notho kayiem nono!”
I do not frustate the grace of God: for if righteousness be by the law, then Christ died in vain.
