< Jo-Efeso 6 >
1 Nyithindo, winjuru jonywolu kuom Ruoth nikech timo kamano en gima kare.
Children, obey your parents, as children of the Lord; for that is but right.
2 Chik mokwongo man-gi singruok wacho niya, “Luor wuonu gi minu
‘Honour thy father and mother’ — this is the first Commandment with a promise —
3 mondo ngimani odhi maber, kendo udag amingʼa e piny.”
‘So that thou mayest prosper and have a long life on earth.’
4 Wuone kik umi nyithindu bedo gi mirima; to ritgiuru maber, kurieyogi kendo upuonjogi kuom Ruoth.
And fathers, do not irritate your children, but bring them up with Christian discipline and instruction.
5 Wasumbini, winjuru ruodhiu mondikou e piny-ka kumiyogi duongʼ gi luor, kendo kutiyo gi chuny ma thuolo, mana ka gima uwinjo Kristo.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters, with anxious care, giving them ungrudging service, as if obeying the Christ;
6 Kik uwinjgi mana mondo umor wangʼ-gi seche ma ginenou, to mana ka wasumb Kristo, timuru dwaro Nyasaye koa e chunyu.
not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had merely to please men, but as slaves of Christ, who are trying to carry out the will of God.
Give your service heartily and cheerfully, as working for the Master and not for men;
for you know that every one will be rewarded by the Master for any honest work that he has done, whether he is a slave or a freeman.
And masters, treat your slaves in the same spirit. Give up threatening them; for you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in Heaven, and that before him there is no distinction of rank.
10 Mogik, beduru motegno kuom Ruoth, kendo kuom tekone maduongʼ.
For the future, find strength in your union with the Lord, and in the power which comes from his might.
11 Manreuru gi gige lweny duto mag Nyasaye, mondo eka uchungʼ motegno kutangʼ ne wuond mar Jachien.
Put on the full armour of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground against the stratagems of the Devil.
12 Nikech wasigu mwakedogo ok gin dhano, to wakedo gi jotelo, kod ruodhi mag piny motimo mudhoni, kaachiel gi lang chuny maricho modak e kor polo. (aiōn )
For ours is no struggle against enemies of flesh and blood, but against all the various Powers of Evil that hold sway in the Darkness around us, against the Spirits of Wickedness on high. (aiōn )
13 Omiyo manreuru mogik gi gige lweny mag Nyasaye, mondo ka kinde mag richo ochopo to uyud teko mar chungʼ kar tiendu kendo kusetimo madwarore duto to mondo uchungʼ.
Therefore take up the full armour of God, that, when the evil day comes, you may be able to withstand the attack, and, having fought to the end, still to stand your ground.
14 Emomiyo nyonuru piny motegno, kutweyo nungou gi kamba mar adiera, kendo kurwako tim makare ka gige lweny mag akor,
Stand your ground, then, ‘with truth for your belt,’ and ‘with righteousness for your breast-plate,’
15 rwakreuru gi ikruok mar lando Injili makelo kwe kaka wuoche e tiendu.
And with the readiness to serve the Good News of Peace as shoes for your feet.
At every onslaught take up faith for your shield; for with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming darts of the Evil One.
17 Kawuru ogudu motegno mar warruok kod ligangla mar Roho ma en wach Nyasaye.
And receive ‘the helmet of Salvation,’ and ‘the sword of the Spirit’ — which is the Message of God — always with prayer and supplication.
18 To lamuru kuom Roho kinde duto gi kit lamo duto, kendo ka ukwayo.
Pray in spirit at all times. Be intent upon this, with unwearying perseverance and supplication for all Christ’s People —
19 An bende lamnauru mondo sa moro amora ma ayawo dhoga to omiya weche mondo ayal gichir wach mopondo mar Injili,
And on my behalf also, that, when I begin to speak, words may be given me, so that I may fearlessly make known the inmost truth of the Good News,
20 momiyo an jambetre motwe. Lamuru mondo awuo kuome gi chir kaka owinjore atim.
on behalf of which I am an Ambassador — in chains! Pray that, in telling it, I may speak fearlessly as I ought.
21 Tukiko, ma en owadwa ma wageno kendo matiyo ni Ruoth gi adiera duto biro nyisou weche duto, kaka achal to gi gima atimo.
To enable you, as well as others, to know all that concerns me and what I am doing, Tychicus, our dear Brother and faithful helper in the Master’s Cause, will tell you everything.
22 Aore iru mondo onyisu chalwa kendo mondo ojiw chunyu.
I am sending him to you on purpose that you may learn all about us, and that he may cheer your hearts.
23 Mad Nyasaye Wuoro kod Ruodhwa Yesu Kristo omi jowete duto man kuom Kristo kwe, gihera kod yie.
May God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ give our Brothers peace, and love linked with faith.
24 Ngʼwono obed kod jogo duto mohero Ruoth Yesu Kristo gihera ma ok rum.
May God’s blessing be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
