< Daniel 9 >
1 E higa mokwongo mar Darius wuod Ahasuerus (ma ja-Media), mane en ruodh Babulon duto,
In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
2 an Daniel nafwenyo tiend Ndiko, kaluwore gi wach Jehova Nyasaye mane oyudo osemiyo Janabi Jeremia, ni kethruok mar Jerusalem biro tieko higni piero abiriyo.
in the first year of his reign I Daniel meditated in the books, over the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish for the desolations of Jerusalem seventy years.
3 Omiyo ne adhi ir Ruoth Nyasaye ka alamo, ka aywakne kendo ka ariyo kech, kendo ne arwako law kuyo ka abukora gi buru.
And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
4 Ne alamo Jehova Nyasaye Nyasacha kendo ne ahulo richona kama: “Yaye Ruoth Nyasaye maduongʼ kendo malich, Nyasaye marito singruokne mar hera gi ji duto mohere kendo morito chikene,
And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made confession, and said: 'O Lord, the great and awful God, who keepest covenant and mercy with them that love Thee and keep Thy commandments,
5 wasetimo richo kendo wasetimo marach. Wasetimo timbe maricho kendo wasengʼanyo; waselokore waweyo yoreni gi chikeni.
we have sinned, and have dealt iniquitously, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, and have turned aside from Thy commandments and from Thine ordinances;
6 Ok wasechiko itwa ne jotichni ma jonabi mane owuoyo gi ruodhi mawa gi yawuot ruodhi kod wuonewa, gi jopinywa duto, e nyingi.
neither have we hearkened unto Thy servants the prophets, that spoke in Thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
7 “Ruoth Nyasaye, to wan jo-Juda, joma odak Jerusalem kod jo-Israel, modak machiegni kod modak maboyo, e pinje duto misekeyowae wichkuot osemakowa kawuononi, nikech wasebedoni joma ok jo-ratiro.
Unto Thee, O Lord, belongeth righteousness, but unto us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither Thou hast driven them, because they dealt treacherously with Thee.
8 Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, wan kaachiel gi ruodhi mawa, gi yawuot ruodhi, kod wuonewa, wichkuot omakowa nikech waseketho e nyimi.
O LORD, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against Thee.
9 Ruoth Nyasachwa kecho ji kendo oweyo ne ji richogi, kata obedo ni wasengʼanyone kamano;
To the Lord our God belong compassions and forgivenesses; for we have rebelled against Him;
10 ok waseluoro Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachwa, kata rito chike mane omiyowa kokalo kuom jotichne ma jonabi.
neither have we hearkened to the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.
11 Jo-Israel duto oseweyo luwo chikeni, kendo giseluwo yoregi giwegi, mi gidagi luori. “Kuom mano kwongʼ kod ngʼado bura mane osingi mondiki e kitap Chik Musa, ma jatich Nyasaye, oseol kuomwa, nikech wasetimo richo e nyimi.
Yea, all Israel have transgressed Thy law, and have turned aside, so as not to hearken to Thy voice; and so there hath been poured out upon us the curse and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God; for we have sinned against Him.
12 Masira maduongʼ mane iwacho ni inikel kuomwa kaachiel gi jatendwa isetimo. E bwo polo onge gima osetim machalo gi gima osetimore ne Jerusalem, e piny duto.
And He hath confirmed His word, which He spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil; so that under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13 Masichegi duto osebiro kuomwa, mana kaka ondiki e Chik Musa, to kata kamano pok wakwayo Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachwa ngʼwono, ka walokore waweyo richowa kendo waketo chunywa mar luwo adiera mare.
As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us; yet have we not entreated the favour of the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in Thy truth.
14 Jehova Nyasaye ok osedeko mar kelo masira kuomwa, nikech Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachwa nikare e gik moko duto motimo; kata obedo ni wasedagi winje kamano.
And so the LORD hath watched over the evil, and brought it upon us; for the LORD our God is righteous in all His works which He hath done, and we have not hearkened to His voice.
15 “Yaye Ruoth Nyasachwa, in mane igolo jogi e piny Misri gi teko mari, kendo imiyo nyingi obedo gi duongʼ mosiko nyaka kawuono, wasetimo richo e nyimi kendo wasetimo marach.
And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought Thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten Thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
16 Yaye Ruoth Nyasaye, kaluwore gi gik moko duto makare mitimo, yie iwe bedo gi mirima kod gero gi Jerusalem dalani maduongʼ kendo godi maler. Richowa gi timbe mamono mag kwerewa osemiyo Jerusalem kod jogi obedo joma ijaro gi jogo modak mokiewo kodwa.
O Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, let Thine anger and Thy fury, I pray Thee, be turned away from Thy city Jerusalem, Thy holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
17 “Koro Nyasachwa, winj lamo gi kwayo mar jatichni. Nikech nyingi, yaye Ruoth Nyasaye, yie itim ngʼwono mondo kari maler mar lemo ochak oger.
Now therefore, O our God, hearken unto the prayer of Thy servant, and to his supplications, and cause Thy face to shine upon Thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.
18 Chik iti, yaye Nyasaye, mondo iwinj kwayowa, kendo ineye kaka dala maduongʼ mochungʼ kar nyingi okethore. Ok waketni kwayogi nikech wan joma kare, to watimo kamano nikech kechni maduongʼ.
O my God, incline Thine ear, and hear; open Thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city upon which Thy name is called; for we do not present our supplications before Thee because of our righteousness, but because of Thy great compassions.
19 Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, yie iwinjwa! Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, yie iwenwa! Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, winjwa kendo ikonywa ma ok ideko, nikech dalani maduongʼ kod jogi miluongo gi nyingi.”
O Lord, hear, O Lord, forgive, O Lord, attend and do, defer not; for Thine own sake, O my God, because Thy name is called upon Thy city and Thy people.'
20 Kane pod awuoyo kendo alamo, ka ahulo richona kaachiel gi richo mag joga ma jo-Israel, kendo kane pod aketo kwayona ne Jehova Nyasaye Nyasacha kuom gode maler, kendo
And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
21 kane pod anie lamo, Gabriel, ngʼat mane oyudo aseneno e fweny motelo, nobiro ira ka huyo matek kar seche mitime misengni mag odhiambo.
yea, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, approached close to me about the time of the evening offering.
22 Ne owuoyo koda kowachona niya, “Daniel, koro asebiro mondo amiyi ngʼeyo tiend fweny.
And he made me to understand, and talked with me, and said: 'O Daniel, I am now come forth to make thee skilful of understanding.
23 E sa ma ne ichakoe lemo, ema nodwoki, omiyo asebiro mondo anyisigo, nikech in ngʼat moher ahinya. Kuom mano, koro chik iti mondo iwinj tiend fwenyno:
At the beginning of thy supplications a word went forth, and I am come to declare it; for thou art greatly beloved; therefore look into the word, and understand the vision.
24 “Higni mia angʼwen gi piero ochiko en kar romb kinde moseketi ne jou kendo ne dalau maler mondo otiek ketho mondo one ni richo orumo mondo opwodh ji kuom richo. Osechiw thuolono mondo tim makare mochwere obi, mondo oum fweny kod koro, kendo mondo owir Kama Ler Moloyo.
Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sin, and to forgive iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal vision and prophet, and to anoint the most holy place.
25 “Kuom mano bed kingʼeyo kendo kiwinjo tiend wachni kama: Chakre chiengʼ mane ogolie chik mondo ochak oger Jerusalem, nyaka chop biro mar Jal Mowir, ma Ruoth, biro bedo kinde maromo higni mia angʼwen gi piero ochiko kod higni mia angʼwen gi piero adek gangʼwen. Ibiro gere kendo, ka en gi yorene mag dala kod buche matut molwore, to nogere e kinde mag chandruok.
Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem unto one anointed, a prince, shall be seven weeks; and for threescore and two weeks, it shall be built again, with broad place and moat, but in troublous times.
26 Bangʼ higni mia angʼwen gi piero adek gangʼwen Jal Mowir noneg kayiem nono. Jatelo moro nobi manoketh dala maduongʼ gi kama ler mar lemo. Giko nobi mamuomore ka ohula maduongʼ kendo lweny kod masiche madongo dongo nobedie mana kaka Nyasaye nosechano.
And after the threescore and two weeks shall an anointed one be cut off, and be no more; and the people of a prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; but his end shall be with a flood; and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Obiro timo winjruok gi ji mangʼeny kuom kinde maromo higni abiriyo. To e nus mar higni abiriyogo, enomi ji we timo misengini kod kelo chiwo. Gima kwero makelo kethruok nochungʼ e osuch hekalu, nyaka ngʼat mane okete kanyo chop e giko mane Nyasaye oketone.”
And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and upon the wing of detestable things shall be that which causeth appalment; and that until the extermination wholly determined be poured out upon that which causeth appalment.'
