< Daniel 8 >

1 E higa mar adek mar loch mar ruoth Belshazar, an Daniel, naneno fweny, bangʼ fweny mane aseneno mokwongo.
In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision appeared unto me, [even] to me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
2 E fwenynano ne aneno ka an e ohinga mar rito dala mar Susa e gwengʼ mar Elam kendo ka an e bath aora mar Ulai.
And I saw in the vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was in the fortress of Shushan, which is in the province of Elam. And I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
3 Natingʼo wangʼa mi aneno im moro man-gi tunge ariyo, kuchungʼ e bath aora kendo tungene ne boyo. Achiel kuom tungenego ne bor moloyo mano mane otwi achien.
And I lifted up mine eyes and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns; and the two horns were high; and one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 Naketo wangʼa ka aneno kaka imno ringo kochomo yo podho chiengʼ, gi yo nyandwat kod yo milambo. Onge le moro amora mane nyalo sire, kata mane nyalo resore kuom tekone. Notimo kaka en ema ohero, kendo nodoko rahuma.
I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward, and no beast could stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great.
5 Kane oyudo pod aparo tiend wachni, to apoya nono nywok moro man-gi tunge mabitho motwi e kind wengene nobiro koa yo podho chiengʼ kowuotho e piny ngima ma tiendene ok nyon lowo.
And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west over the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
6 Nobiro kochomo im man-gi tunge ariyo mane aseneno kochungʼ e bath aora, kendo nochome gi ngʼwech tir ka en gi mirima mager.
And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran upon him in the fury of his power.
7 Nanene komonjo im gi tekre duto, kendo nochwoye momuko tungene duto ariyo. Im ne onge teko ma dimi ochungʼ e nyime kendo nywogno nogoye piny e lowo monyone piny, to onge ngʼama ne nyalo reso im mi gol e tekone.
And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was enraged with him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him; and he cast him down to the ground, and trampled upon him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Nywogno nomedo bedo gi teko, to kata obedo ni ne en ratego kamano, to tunge maduongʼno notur mi tunge angʼwen mamoko notwi kanyo kamoro ka moro siemo tunge angʼwen mag polo.
And the he-goat became exceeding great; but when he was become strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones toward the four winds of the heavens.
9 Bangʼe tungʼ moro nochako otwi koa kuom tunge angʼwen-go, nochako kotin to bangʼe achien nodongo ka en gi teko kochomo yo milambo gi yo wuok chiengʼ kod yo Piny Maber mar Israel.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beauty [of the earth].
10 Tekone nomedore mochopo nyaka e kor polo, kendo nowito sulwe moko e piny mi onyonogi.
And it became great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and trampled upon them.
11 Nopiem gi jatend ogendini mag polo, nomiyo misengini mane itimone jatelono orumo kendo kare maler mar lemo bende nokethi.
(And he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and from him the continual [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 Nikech ngʼanyone, oganda mar joler kod misengni mitimo pile ka pile noket e lwete. Gimoro amora mane otimo ne odhi maber, kendo adiera nojwangʼ.
And a time of trial was appointed unto the continual [sacrifice] by reason of transgression.) And it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised and prospered.
13 Eka nawinjo malaika moro kapenjo malaika wadgi niya, “Biro kawo kinde marom nadi mondo fwenyni ochop kare; ma en fweny man kuom misengini mitimo pile ka pile, gi ngʼanyo makelo kethruok, gi ketho kama ler mar lemo kod nyono oganda mar Jehova Nyasaye piny?”
And I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that one who spoke, How long shall be the vision of the continual [sacrifice] and of the transgression that maketh desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden down under foot?
14 Nowachona niya, “Fwenyno biro kawo ndalo alufu ariyo mia adek odiechiengʼ gotieno; eka kama ler mar lemo nopwodhi kendo.”
And he said unto me, Until two thousand and three hundred evenings [and] mornings: then shall the sanctuary be vindicated.
15 An, Daniel, kane oyudo pod aparo kuom wachni kendo angʼe tiende, napo kaneno gima chalo gi dhano kochungʼ e nyima.
And it came to pass, when I Daniel had seen the vision, I sought for the understanding of it, and behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 Eka nawinjo ngʼato kaluongo koa yo aora Ulai niya, “Gabriel, nyis ngʼatni tiend fweny mosenenono.”
And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] the Ulai; and he called and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision.
17 Kane osudo but kama ne achungʼe, luoro nomaka mine apodho piny auma. To nowachona niya, “Wuod dhano, bed gi ngʼeyo ni fweny misenenoni wuoyo kuom ndalo giko.”
And he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was afraid, and fell on my face; and he said unto me, Understand, son of man; for the vision is for the time of the end.
18 Kane pod owuoyo koda ka akulo wiya piny, nindo matut notera. Eka nomula mi ochunga malo.
Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep stupor, with my face toward the ground. And he touched me, and set me up where I had stood.
19 Nowacho ni: “Adwaro nyisi gigo mabiro timore e kinde mag masiche, nikech fweny mosenyisini nyiso gik mabiro timore e ndalo giko.
And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be at the end of the indignation: for at the set time the end shall be.
20 Im matunge ariyo mane inenono ochungʼ kar ruodhi mag Media gi Pasia.
The ram that thou sawest having the two horns: they are the kings of Media and Persia.
21 Nywok moyugnono en ruodh jo-Yunani, to tung marangʼongo manie pat wangʼe e ruoth mokwongo.
And the rough goat is the king of Greece; and the great horn that was between his eyes is the first king.
22 Tunge angʼwen mane okaw kar mano mane omuk oko ochungʼ kar pinjeruodhi angʼwen mabiro chakore e pinye to ok bi bedo gi teko marom gi mare.
Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its stead, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.
23 “E kinde ma lochgi chiegni rumo, jongʼanyo notim timbe maricho mogik, ruoth moro nobi ma wangʼe tek kendo matimo gik maricho.
And at the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors shall have come to the full, a king of bold countenance, and understanding riddles, shall stand up.
24 Nodok maratego ahinya, to ok gi tekre owuon. Enokel kethruok maduongʼ kendo enolochi e gimoro amora motimo. Enotiek joma roteke kod jomaler.
And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy marvellously, and shall prosper, and shall practise, and shall destroy the mighty ones, and the people of the saints.
25 Obiro miyo miriambo medore, kendo obiro kawore ni oyombo ji. E seche ma giparo ni gidhi maber, obiro nego ji mangʼeny kendo obiro chungʼ mondo oked gi Ruoth mar ruodhi. Kata kamano ibiro tieke, to ok gi teko mar dhano.
And through his cunning shall he cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he will magnify [himself] in his heart, and by prosperity will corrupt many; and he will stand up against the Prince of princes: but he shall be broken without hand.
26 “Fweny mag okinyi godhiambo mosenyisi gin adier, to kik ihulgi ni ngʼato nikech gin gik mabiro timore bangʼe e ndalo mabiro.”
And the vision of the evening and the morning which hath been told is true; but close thou up the vision, for it is for many days [to come].
27 An Daniel, tekra norumo, kendo nabedo matuo kuom ndalo mangʼeny. Eka ne achungo malo, kendo adhi nyime gi tije ruoth. Fweny mane aneno nomako dhoga; kendo ne ok anyal winjo tiende maber.
And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days: then I rose up, and did the king's business. And I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
