< Daniel 6 >

1 Darius noneno ni en gima ber mondo oyier jotelo mia achiel gi piero ariyo mondo okonye rito pinyruodhe duto.
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
2 Eka noyiero Daniel gi ji ariyo mamoko mondo obed jotend jotelogo. Jorit pinjegi nomi chik ni nyaka gidwok wach ni jotelo adekgi, mondo kik gimoro dhi marach ne ruoth.
And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel [was] first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
3 To Daniel noloyo jotend jorit pinje mamoko duto, nikech lony mamalo mane en-go, mi ruoth koro ne chano mondo omiye teko mar rito piny duto.
Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
4 Mano nomiyo jotend jorit pinje gi jodongo notemo mondo ondhog Daniel e tije mar rito piny, to ne otamogi yudo. Ne ok ginyal yudo ketho moro amora kuome, nikech ne en ja-adiera e yore duto, kendo ne oonge gi tim mar kawo malangʼ, kata mar jwangʼo tich.
Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he [was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
5 Bangʼ temo yore duto, jogi nowacho niya, “Ok wabi yudo wach moro amora ma wanyalo ketogo ketho kuom Daniel, makmana ka en gima omulo chik Nyasache.”
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find [it] against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Kuom mano, jotend jorit pinje, kaachiel gi jodongo, nodhi ir ruoth ma giwachone niya, “Yaye ruoth Darius, mad idag amingʼa!
Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
7 Jotend jotich duto mag ruoth, kaachiel gi jochik jotich, gi jorit pinje, gi jongʼad rieko kod jotend jorit pinje osewinjore ni ruoth onego ogol chik, kendo one ni chikno otiyo, mondo ngʼato angʼata molamo nyasaye moro amora kata dhano moro amora kuom ndalo piero adek mabiro, ma ok in, yaye ruoth, to mondo obol e bur sibuoche.
All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 Koro, yaye ruoth, gol chikno, kendo ndike piny, ma ok nyal loke mana kaka chik jo-Medes gi jo-Pasia ma ok nyal loki.”
Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Omiyo ruoth Darius nondiko chikno mogoyoe sei mar ruoth.
Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
10 Kane Daniel owinjo ni oseket sei e chikno nodhi e ode kama ne nitie ot moro man-gi dirise mochomo yo Jerusalem. Odiechiengʼ kodiechiengʼ Daniel ne goyo chonge piny kodwoko erokamano ni Nyasache nyadidek mana kaka nosebedo kotimo pile.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Eka chiengʼ moro jogi nodhi ire ka gin kanyakla mine giyudo Daniel ka lemo kendo kwayo Nyasache mondo okonye.
Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 Omiyo negidhi ir ruoth kendo ne giwuoyo kode kuom chik mane osegolo: Donge nyocha iketo chik mindiko piny ni kuom ndalo piero adek mabiro ngʼato angʼata molamo nyasaye kata dhano moro amora ma ok in, yaye ruoth, to ibiro bol e bur sibuoche? Ruoth nodwoko niya, “Chikno osiko mana kaka chike jo-Medes gi jo-Pasia, ma ok nyal loki.”
Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing [is] true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Eka negiwachone ruoth niya, “Daniel ma en achiel kuom jo-Juda mane oter e twech, ok osedewi, yaye ruoth, bende ok osedewo chik mane iketo e ndiko. Pod olamo kido nyadidek e odiechiengʼ achiel.”
Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which [is] of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 Kane ruoth owinjo wachno, chunye nochandore; moramo ni nyaka ores Daniel, kendo notimo duto mane onyalo odiechiengno duto chakre okinyi nyaka odhiambo mondo okonye.
Then the king, when he heard [these] words, was sore displeased with himself, and set [his] heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
15 Eka jogo duto nodhi ir ruoth mi giwacho niya, “Yaye ruoth, ngʼe ni kaluwore gi chik jo-Medes gi jo-Pasia, to onge chik ma ruoth osegolo manyalo lokore.”
Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians [is], That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
16 Omiyo ruoth nogolo chik, kendo negikelo Daniel mi gibole e bur sibuoche, kendo ruoth nowachone Daniel niya, “Mad Nyasachi, mitiyone ndalo duto, konyi!”
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast [him] into the den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
17 Bangʼ mano nokel kidi modin-go dho bur, kendo ruoth noketo sei gi lwete owuon gi mar jodonge, mondo kik ngʼato angʼata ores Daniel.
And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
18 Eka ruoth nodok e ode kendo otienono duto ne ok ochiemo bende ne ok oyie mondo joma mielne obi e nyime bende nindo notamore tere.
Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
19 Okinyi mangʼich ka ugwe chako wuok, ruoth noa malo moreto nyaka e bur sibuoche.
Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
20 Kane ochopo machiegni gi bur sibuoche, noluongo Daniel gi dwol maduongʼ ka chunye parore niya, “Daniel, jatij Nyasaye Mangima, bende Nyasachi mitiyone ndalo duto oseresi e dho sibuochego?”
And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: [and] the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Daniel nodwoko niya, “Yaye ruoth, mad idag amingʼa!”
Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 Nyasacha nooro malaikane, momako dho sibuoche. Ok gisehinya, nikech noyud ka aonge ketho e nyime, to kata in, yaye ruoth, pok atimo gimoro amora marach e nyimi.
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
23 Ruoth ne mor ahinya mi nogolo chik mondo ogol Daniel ei bur sibuoche. Kane ogol Daniel oko e bur sibuoche, to ne ok noyudi kama lit moro amora e dende, nikech nogeno kuom Nyasache kinde duto.
Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
24 Ruoth nogolo chik, mi joma nohango ne Daniel wach nokel nobol e bur sibuoche, kaachiel gi mondgi gi nyithindgi. To sibuoche nongamogi gi ewi yamo kapok gichopo piny, kendo noturo chokegi duto matindo tindo.
And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast [them] into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
25 Eka ruoth Darius nondiko ne ogendini duto, gi pinje duto kod ji duto mawacho dhok mopogore opogore e piny duto kama: “Mad Nyasaye med gwedhou ahinya!”
Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
26 Asegolo chik ne pinje duto manie bwo lochna ni mondo ji duto oluor Nyasach Daniel kendo omiye duongʼ.
I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he [is] the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion [shall be even] unto the end.
27 En ema oreso kendo okonyo ji;
He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 Kuom mano Daniel nomedo dhi maber e ndalo loch mar Darius kendo e ndalo loch mar Sairas ja-Pasia.
So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
