< 3 Johana 1 >
1 An Jaduongʼ, Andikoni in Gayo osiepna mahero gi chunya.
The elder to the well-beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.
2 Osiepna, alamo ni mondo ibed gi ngima maber, kendo ni mondo gik moko duto odhini maber, mana kaka chunyi dhi maber.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 Ne abedo mamor ahinya ka jowete moko nobiro kendo mowachona kaka isiko kiwuotho e adieranogo.
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 Onge gima mora moloyo winjo ni nyithinda wuotho e adiera.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
5 Osiepna in ja-adiera kuom gik mitimo ni jowete kata obedo ni gin joma welo kuomi.
Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
6 Gisenyiso kanisa hera ma in-go. Konygi e wuodhgi ka ikowogi e yo mowinjore ni Nyasaye.
Who have borne testimony of thy charity before the church: whom if thou shalt bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou wilt do well:
7 Nikech nying Kristo ema nomiyo giwuok gidhi adhiya, ka ok giyie kawo mich moro amora kuom jopiny.
Because for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
8 Omiyo nyaka wakony joma kamago, mondo wati kaachiel kodgi e tij adiera.
We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow-helpers to the truth.
9 Ne andiko ni kanisa, to Diotrefes, mohero ketore mondo obed jatelo, ne ok oyie kodwa.
I wrote to the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not.
10 Omiyo ka abiro to abiro nyiso ji e lela gik motimo; kaka ohangonwa weche maricho. To bende otamore rwako jowete mobiro, kendo otamo joma dwaro timo kamano, bende oriembo jogo mondo oa e kanisa.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content with that, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth [them] out of the church.
11 Osiepna, kik iluw timbe maricho, to luw tim maber. Ngʼat matimo gima ber en ngʼat Nyasaye, to ngʼat matimo gima rach pok oneno Nyasaye.
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
12 Ji duto wuoyo maber kuom Demetrio, nikech adiera ema wachore kuome. Wan bende wawuoyo kuome maber, kendo ungʼeyoni nendwa en adier.
Demetrius hath good report by all [men], and by the truth itself: and we [also] bear testimony; and ye know that our testimony is true.
13 An gi weche mangʼeny monego andikni, to ok adwar ndikonigi e baruwani.
I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write to thee:
14 Ageno nenoi mapiyo, eka wanawuo wangʼ gi wangʼ. Kwe mondo obed kodi. Osiepe man ka ooroni mos. Mosnwa osiepe man kuno gi nyingegi.
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace [be] to thee. [Our] friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
