< 2 Samuel 8 >
1 Bangʼ kinde moko Daudi noloyo jo-Filistia ma gibedo e bwo lochne, kendo nokawo Metheg Ama mogolo e loch jo-Filistia.
And it came to pass, after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, —and David took the bridle of the metropolis, out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Daudi noloyo jo-Moab bende. Noketogi ma ginindo piny eka nopimogi gi tol. Kano pimogi diriyo to mago ninego to mane opim mar adek ne iweyo kangima. Omiyo jo-Moab nobedo e bwo loch Daudi kendo negigolone osuru.
And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line casting, them down to the ground, and be measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive, —so the Moabites became David’s, as servants, bringing gifts.
3 Bende Daudi nokedo gi Hadadezer wuod Rehob, ma ruodh Zoba, eka nodhi mondo ogur lochne e dho Aora Yufrate.
And David smote Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, —when he went to lay his hand on the River Euphrates.
4 Daudi nomako geche lweny alufu achiel gi joidh farese alufu abiriyo, gi jolweny mawuotho gi tiendgi alufu piero ariyo. Nongʼado odond farese duto.
And David captured from him, a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, —and David destroyed all the chariots, but reserved of them, a hundred chariots.
5 Kane jo-Aram moa Damaski obiro konyo Hadadezer ruodh Zoba, Daudi nonego ji alufu piero ariyo gariyo kuomgi.
And, when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians, twenty-two thousand men.
6 Noketo kambi mag jolwenje e dala maduongʼ mar Damaski e piny jo-Aram kendo jo-Aram nobedo e bwo lochne kendo negikelone osuru. Jehova Nyasaye nomiyo Daudi olocho kamoro amora mane odhiye.
Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became David’s, as servants bringing gifts, —and so Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
7 Daudi nokawo kuodi molos gi dhahabu mane mag jotend lweny mar Hadadezer, mi okelogi Jerusalem.
And David took the shields of gold which had come to the servants of Hadadezer, —and brought them to Jerusalem;
8 Ruoth Daudi nokawo mula mogundho chakre Teba nyaka Berothai mane gin miech Hadadezer.
also, from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, did King David take bronze, exceeding much.
9 Kane Tou ruodh Hamath owinjo ni Daudi noloyo jolweny duto mag Hadadezer,
And, when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the forces of Hadadezer,
10 nooro wuode miluongo ni Joram ir Ruoth Daudi mondo omose kendo opake kuom loch moloyogo Hadadezer, manosebedo kakedo gi Tou. Joram nokelo gik molos gi fedha, dhahabu to gi mula.
then Tou sent Hadoram his son unto King David, to ask after his welfare, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had smitten him, for Hadadezer had had wars with Tou, —and, in his hand, were vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
11 Ruoth Daudi nowalo gigi duto momiyo Jehova Nyasaye, mana kaka nosetimo gi fedha gi dhahabu mane oa kuom ogendini mane oloyo kaka:
Them also, did King David hallow unto Yahweh, —with the silver and the gold which he had hallowed from all the nations which he had subdued:
12 Edom gi Moab gi jo-Amon gi jo-Filistia, gi Amalek. E kaka nowalo bende gik mane oyaki mag Hadadezer wuod Rehob, ma ruodh Zoba.
from Syria, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek, —and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 Kendo Daudi humbe nolandore koa nego jo-Edom alufu apar gaboro e Holo mar Chumbi.
And David made a name, when he returned from his smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, —eighteen thousand.
14 Bangʼe noketo kambi askeche e piny Edom duto, mi jo-Edom nobedo e bwo loch Daudi. Kamoro amora ma Daudi nodhiye Jehova Nyasaye nomiye loch.
And he put, in Edom, garrisons, throughout all Edom, put be garrisons, and so it was that all Edom became servants unto David, —and Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
15 Daudi nobedo ruodh jo-Israel duto, kotimo maber kendo makare ni joge duto.
And David reigned over all Israel, —and so it was that David used to execute justice and righteousness for all his people;
16 Joab wuod Zeruya ne jatend jolweny; Jehoshafat wuod Ahilud ne jachan weche;
and, Joab, son of Zeruiah, was over the army, —and, Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, was remembrancer.
17 Zadok wuod Ahitub gi Ahimelek wuod Abiathar ne jodolo; Seraya ne jagoro;
And, Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Abimelech, son of Abiathar, were priests, —and, Seraiah, was scribe;
18 Benaya wuod Jehoyada ne jatend jo-Kereth gi jo-Peleth; to yawuot Daudi to ne jangʼad rieko mar joka ruoth.
and, Benaiah, son of Jehoiadah, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, —and, the sons of David, became, chief rulers.
