2 Ruodhi 23
1 Eka ruoth noluongo jodongo duto mag Juda kod Jerusalem.
The king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
2 Nodhi nyaka e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye ka en gi jo-Juda, jo-Jerusalem, jodolo, jonabi kaachiel gi ji duto momewo kod ma jochan. Nosomonegi weche duto mane ondiki e Kitabu mar Singruok, mane osenwangʼ e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye ka giwinjo.
The king went up to the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the scroll of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

The king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this scroll; and all the people stood to the covenant.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the LORD's temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of heaven, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

He put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places around Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

He brought out the Asherah from the house of the LORD, outside of Jerusalem, to the Kidron Valley, and burned it in the Kidron Valley, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.

He broke down the living quarters of the temple prostitutes, that were in the house of the LORD, where the women wove coverings for the Asherah.
8 Josia nokelo jodolo duto moa e miech Juda kendo noketho kuonde motingʼore gi malo mane jodologo wangʼoe ubani chakre Geba nyaka Bersheba. Ne omuko gik mochwe mag lemo e dhorangeye kaachiel gi mago mane ni e dhoranga Joshua, jatend dala maduongʼ, mane nitie e bat koracham kidonjo e dala.
He brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.
9 Kata obedo ni jodolo mag kuonde lemo motingʼore gi malo ne ok ti e kendo mar misango mar Jehova Nyasaye man Jerusalem, to ne oyienegi mana chamo makati ma ok oketie thowi gi jodolo wetegi mamoko.
Nevertheless the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.
10 Ne oketho Tofeth mane ni e holo man Ben Hinom, mondo omi kik ngʼato ne ti kode kuom timo misango mar wuode kata nyare e mach ne Molek.
He defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

He took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the LORD, by the room of Nathan Melech the officer, who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.
12 Nomuko kende mag misango mane ruodhi mag Juda ogero ewi tat od Ahaz, bende nomuko kende mag misango mane Manase ogero e laru ariyo mar hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye. Nogologi kanyo, motoyogi matindo tindo kendo opuko ngʼinjogo e holo mar Kidron.
The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the Kidron Valley.
13 Ruoth nomuko kuonde motingʼore gi malo mane ni yo wuok chiengʼ mar Jerusalem koma ochomo yo milambo mar Got Kethruok, mane Solomon ruodh Israel ogero ne Ashtoreth, nyasach makwero mar jo-Sidon, gi Kemosh nyasach jo-Moab kod Molek nyasaye manono mar jo-Amon.
The king defiled the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mountain of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the people of Ammon.
14 Josia notoyo kite milamo kendo ongʼado siro mar Ashera mi oumo kuondego gi choke ji.
He broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and filled their places with the bones of men.
15 Kata mana kendo mar misango man Bethel, ma en kar lemo motingʼore gi malo mane olosgi Jeroboam wuod Nebat, mane omiyo Israel otimo richo bende nomuko. Ne owangʼo kama otingʼore gi malono mi olokore buru bende nowangʼo siro mar Ashera.
Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.
16 Bangʼ mano Josia nongʼiyo koni gi koni kendo kane oneno liete mane ni e kor godno, nogolo chik mondo ogol choke e lietego kendo owangʼ-gi e kendo mar misango kikethego kaluwore gi wach Jehova Nyasaye mane ngʼat Nyasaye okoro chon.
And as Josiah turned himself, he saw the tombs that were there in the mountain. And he sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, when Jeroboam stood by the altar at the feast. And he turned and raised his eyes to the tomb of the man of God who proclaimed these things.
17 Ruoth nopenjo niya, “En kidi mane manie dho liel maneno cha?” Jo-dala maduongʼno nodwoke niya, “Onyiso kar liend ngʼat Nyasaye mane oa Juda mane okoro gik mane itimo e kendo mar misango man Bethel.”
Then he said, "What monument is that which I see?" The men of the city told him, "It is the tomb of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel."
18 Ne owacho niya, “Weyeuru, kendo kik ngʼato mul chokene.” Eka ne giweyo chokene to gi mag janabi mane oa Samaria.
He said, "Let him be. Let no man move his bones." So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.
19 Josia nomuko kendo oketho kuonde duto motingʼore gi malo mitimoe misengini mane ruodhi mag Israel ogero e miech Samaria mane omiyo Jehova Nyasaye mirima mana kaka notimo Bethel.
All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.
20 Josia nonego jodolo duto mag nyiseche milamo kuonde motingʼore gi malo mowangʼogi e kende mag misengini. Bangʼ mano nodok Jerusalem.
He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men's bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.
21 Ruoth nogolo chik ni ji duto kama: “Losuru chokruok mar Pasaka ne Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachu, mana kaka ondiki e Kitap Singruokni.”
The king commanded all the people, saying, "Keep the Passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in this scroll of the covenant."
22 Koa e ndalo mag jongʼad bura mane otelo ne Israel, kata e ndalo duto mag ruodhi mag Israel gi Juda, pok ne otim chokruok mar Pasaka ma kama.
Surely there was not kept such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;
23 To e higa mar apar gaboro mar ruoth Josia, Pasaka machalo kama notimne Jehova Nyasaye e Jerusalem.
but in the eighteenth year of king Josiah was this Passover kept to the LORD in Jerusalem.

Moreover Josiah removed the mediums, and spiritists, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
25 Onge ruoth moro kata achiel mane odwogo ir Jehova Nyasaye kaluwore gi chike duto mag Musa gi chunye duto gi ngimane duto kod tekone duto machalo gi Josia.
Like him was there no king before him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
26 Kata Kamano, Jehova Nyasaye ne ok oweyo mirimbe mager, mane liel kochomo Juda nikech mago duto mane Manase otimo komiyo mirimbe jimbore.
Notwithstanding, the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocation with which Manasseh had provoked him.
27 Eka Jehova Nyasaye nowacho niya, “Abiro riembo jo-Juda e nyima mana kaka ne ariembo jo-Israel kendo abiro kwedo Jerusalem dala maduongʼ mane ayiero kaachiel gi hekaluni, mane awuoyoe ni, ‘Kanyo ema Nyinga nobedie.’”
The LORD said, "I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, 'My name shall be there.'"
28 To kuom gik mamoko duto mag loch Josia kod mago duto mane otimo, donge ondikgi e kitabu mag weche mag ruodhi Juda?
Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
29 E ndalo loch Josia, Farao Neko ruodh Misri nodhi nyaka Aora Yufrate mondo okony ruodh Asuria kedo. Ruoth Josia nowuok mondo oked kode e paw lweny, to ruoth Neko norado kode monege e paw Megido.
In his days Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Perath: and king Josiah went against him; and Pharaoh Necoh killed him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.
30 Jotije Josia nokelo ringre gi geche lweny koa Megido nyaka Jerusalem mine giike e liende owuon kendo jopinyno nokawo Jehoahaz wuod Josia mi giwire kendo mokete obedo ruoth kar wuon mare.
His servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father's place.
31 Jehoahaz ne ja-higni piero ariyo gadek kane odoko ruoth kendo nobedo e loch kuom dweche adek kodak Jerusalem. Min mare nyinge ne Hamutal nyar Jeremia; mane aa Libna.
Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
32 Ne otimo richo e wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye mana kaka kwerene notimo.
He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.
33 Farao Neko noterogi e twech Ribla e piny Hamath mondo kik obed ruoth kodak Jerusalem kendo nochuno jo-Juda mondo ochiw osuru mar fedha ma pekne romo kilo alufu adek gi mia angʼwen kod dhahabu ma pekne romo kilo piero adek gangʼwen.
Pharaoh Necoh put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of one hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
34 Farao Neko noketo Eliakim wuod Josia ruoth kar wuon mare Josia kendo noloko nying Eliakim ni Jehoyakim. To nokawo Jehoahaz mi otero e twech Misri kuma nothoe.
Pharaoh Necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim: but he took Jehoahaz away; and he came to Egypt, and died there.
35 Jehoyakim nochulo Farao Neko fedha kod dhahabu mane odwaro. Notimo kamano kogolo osuru kuom jopinyno kuom fedha gi dhahabu kaluwore gi yuto mar ngʼato ka ngʼato.
Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of everyone according to his taxation, to give it to Pharaoh Necoh.

Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
37 Kendo notimo gik maricho e nyim wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye, mana kaka kwerene notimo.
He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.
