< 2 Ruodhi 22 >

1 Josia ne ja-higni aboro kane obedo ruoth kendo norito pinyno kodak Jerusalem kuom higni piero adek gachiel. Min mare ne nyinge Jedida nyar Adaya, mane aa Bozkath.
Josias [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Jedia, daughter of Edeia of Basuroth.
2 Timbe Josia ne longʼo e wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye kendo nowuotho e yore duto mag Daudi kwar-gi, ma ok olokore kongʼiyo korachwich kata koracham.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the way of David his father; he turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
3 E higa mar apar gaboro mar lochne, ruoth Josia nooro jagoro ma en Shafan wuod Azalia, ma wuod Meshulam, e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye kowacho niya,
And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josias, in the eighth month, the king sent Sapphan the son of Ezelias the son of Mesollam, the scribe of the house of the Lord, saying,
4 “Dhiyo ir Hilkia jadolo maduongʼ kendo oik pesa mosekel e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye, mane jorit dhoot nosechoko kuom ji.
Go up to Chelcias the high priest, and take account of the money that is brought into the house of the Lord, which they that keep the door have collected of the people.
5 We mondo giketgi e lwet joma otelo ne gedo mar hekalu, kendo mondo jogi ochul joma loso kuonde momukore mar hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye.
And let them give it into the hand of the workmen that are appointed in the house of the Lord. And he gave it to the workmen in the house of the Lord, to repair the breaches of the house,
6 Joma onego chul gin jopa bepe, jogedo kod jopa kidi. Bende konegi gingʼiew bao kod kite mopa milosogo kuonde mokethore ei hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye.
[even] to the carpenters, and builders, and masons, [and] also to purchase timber and hewn stones, to repair the breaches of the house.
7 To kik penjgi kaka gitiyo gi pesa momigi nikech gin joma ogen.”
Only they did not call them to account for the money that was given to them, because they dealt faithfully.
8 Hilkia jadolo maduongʼ nowachone Shafan ma jagoro niya, “Aseyudo kitap chike e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye.” Nomiye mosome.
And Chelcias the high priest said to Saphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Chelcias gave the book to Sapphan, and he read it.
9 Eka Shafan ma jagoro nodhi ir ruoth mowachone niya, “Jodongi osechulo pesa mane nitiere e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye kendo gisechiwogi e lwet jotich kod jotend hekalu.”
And he went into the house of the Lord to the king, and reported the matter to the king, and said, Thy servants have collected the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and have given it into the hand of the workmen that are appointed in the house of the Lord.
10 Eka Shafan jagoro nonyiso ruoth niya, “Hilkia janabi osemiya kitabu.” Kendo Shafan nosomo kitabuno e nyim ruoth.
And Sapphan the scribe spoke to the king, saying, Chelcias the priest has given me a book. And Sapphan read it before the king.
11 Kane ruoth owinjo weche manie Kitap Chik, noyiecho lepe.
And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his garments.
12 Nochiwo chikegi ne Hilkia jadolo, Ahikam wuod Shafan, Akbor wuod Mikaya, Shafan jagoro kod Asaya jarit mar ruoth kowachonegi niya,
And the king commanded Chelcias the priest, and Achikam the son of Sapphan, and Achobor the son of Michaias, and Sapphan the scribe, and Asaias the king's servant, saying,
13 “Dhiuru upenj Jehova Nyasaye gima biro timorena, kendo ni oganda kod jo-Juda duto kaluwore gi gik mondiki e kitabu mwaseyudoni. Mirimb Jehova Nyasaye maliel ka mach osechomowa nikech kwerewa ok oseluoro weche mawuok e kitabuni; kendo ok gisetimo timbe moluwore gi gik moko duto mondiki kuomwa.”
Go, enquire of the Lord for me, and for all the people, and for all Juda, and concerning the words of this book that has been found: for the wrath of the Lord that has been kindled against us [is] great, because our fathers hearkened not to the words of this book, to do according to all the things written concerning us.
14 Hilkia jadolo, Ahikam, Akbor, Shafan kod Asaya nodhi wuoyo gi Hulda janabi madhako, mane chi Shalum wuod Tikva, ma wuod Harhas, jarit kar keno mar lep lemo. Nodak Jerusalem, e gwengʼ mar ariyo.
So Chelcias the priest went, and Achicam, and Achobor, and Sapphan, and Asaias, to Olda the prophetess, the mother of Sellem the son of Thecuan son of Aras, keeper of the robes; and she dwelt in Jerusalem in Masena; and they spoke to her.
15 Hulda jadolo madhako nowachonegi niya, “Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasach jo-Israel wacho: Nyisuru ngʼatno mane oorou ira niya,
And she said to them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Say to the man that sent you to me,
16 ‘Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye wacho: Abiro kelo masira e pinyni kendo kuom joma odakie, kaluwore gi gik moko duto ma ruodh Juda osesomo mondiki e kitabuni.
Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I bring evil upon this place, and upon them that dwell in it, [even] all the words of the book which the king of Juda has read:
17 Mirimba nosik kuom pinyni kendo ok norum nikech gisejwangʼa ka giwangʼo ubani ne nyiseche manono kendo ka gimiya mirima kuom lamo nyiseche mopa gi lwedo.’
because they have forsaken me, and burnt incense to other gods, that they might provoke me with the works of their hands: therefore my wrath shall burn forth against this place, and shall not be quenched.
18 Wachneuru ruodh Juda, mane oorou mondo upenja gima Jehova Nyasaye wacho ni, ‘Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasach jo-Israel wacho kaluwore gi weche musewinjo.
And to the king of Juda that sent you to enquire of the Lord, —thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, [As for] the words which thou hast heard;
19 Nikech ne uwinjo wach kendo uboloru e nyim Jehova Nyasaye kane uwinjo weche mane owacho kuom Jerusalem kod joma odakie ni gibiro yudo kwongʼ mi gidongʼ kama ojwangʼ, kendo nikech ne uyiecho lepu kuywak e nyima, omiyo asewinjo ywaku, Jehova Nyasaye owacho.
because thy heart was softened, and thou was humbled before [me], when thou heardest all that I spoke against this place, and against the inhabitants of it, that it should be utterly destroyed and accursed, and thou didst rend thy garments, and weep before me; I also have heard, saith the Lord.
20 Kuom mano, anami iywe gi kwereni kendo noiki gi kwe. Ok inine masiche mabiro kelone pinyni.’” Omiyo negidwoko wach ne ruoth.
It shall not be so [therefore]: behold, I [will] add thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy tomb in peace, and thine eyes shall not see [any] among all the evils which I bring upon this place.
