< 2 Ruodhi 13 >
1 E higa mar piero ariyo gadek mar loch Joash wuod Ahazia ruodh Juda, Jehoahaz wuod Jehu nobedo ruodh Israel ka en Samaria kendo nobedo e ruoth kuom higni apar gabiriyo.
In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned seventeen years.
2 Notimo gik mamono e nyim wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye, kane oluwo timbe maricho mag Jeroboam wuod Nebat, mane omiyo jo-Israel odonje kendo ne ok olokore weyo gigo.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh and followed the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin; and Jehoahaz did not turn away from them.
3 Kuom mano Jehova Nyasaye nokecho gi jo-Israel kendo kuom ndalo mangʼeny noweyogi e bwo loch Hazael ruodh Aram kod Ben-Hadad wuode.
The anger of Yahweh burned against Israel, and he gave them continually into the hand of Hazael king of Aram and into the hand of Ben Hadad son of Hazael.
4 Eka Jehoahaz nokwayo Jehova Nyasaye kendo Jehova Nyasaye nowinje, nimar noneno kaka ruodh Aram ne sando jo-Israel malit.
So Jehoahaz implored Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him because he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Aram was oppressing them.
5 Jehova Nyasaye nochiwo ne jo-Israel jares, mi gitony gia e loch jo-Aram. Eka jo-Israel nochako odok modak e miechgi mana kaka ne gisebetie mokwongo.
So Yahweh gave Israel a rescuer, and they escaped from the hand of the Arameans, and the people of Israel began to live in their homes as they had before.
6 To kata kamano ne ok gilokore giweyo richo mane ni e od Jeroboam, mane omiyo jo-Israel otimo, to negidhi nyime mana gi timbegi. Kendo siro mar nyasaye madhako miluongo ni Ashera nosiko kochungʼ Samaria.
Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who caused Israel to sin, and they continued in them; and the Asherah pole remained in Samaria.
7 Jolweny mag Jehoahaz notieki makmana joidh farese piero abich, geche mag lweny apar kod jolweny mawuotho gi tiendgi alufu apar ema ne odongʼ, nikech ruodh Aram nosetieko mamoko duto kendo nomiyo gichalo mihudhwe.
The Arameans left Jehoahaz with only fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram had destroyed them and made them like the chaff at threshing time.
8 To kuom gik mamoko duto mane ondiki e ndalo loch Jehoahaz gi gik moko duto mane otimo, donge ondikgi e kitepe mag weche ruodhi mag Israel?
As for the other matters concerning Jehoahaz, and all that he did and his power, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
9 Jehoahaz nonindo moyweyo gi kwerene mi noyike Samaria kendo wuode ma Jehoash nobedo ruoth kare.
So Jehoahaz slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in Samaria. Johoash his son became king in his place.
10 E higa mar piero adek gabiriyo mar loch Joash ruodh Juda, Jehoash wuod Jehoahaz nobedo ruodh Israel ka en piny Samaria kendo nobedo ruoth kuom higni apar gauchiel.
In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, the reign of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz began over Israel in Samaria; he reigned sixteen years.
11 Notimo timbe mamono e wangʼ Jehova Nyasaye kendo ne ok oweyo timbe mag richo mar Jeroboam wuod Nebat, mane omiyo jo-Israel otimo; nodhi nyime kotimogi.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.
12 To kuom weche duto mane ondiki e ndalo loch Jehoash; gi gik moko duto mane otimo, kod teko mane okedogo gi Amazia ruodh Juda, donge ondikgi e kitepe mag weche ruodhi mag Israel?
As for the other matters concerning Jehoash, and all that he did, and his might by which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel?
13 Jehoash nonindo moyweyo gi kwerene kendo Jeroboam nobedo ruoth kare. Jehoash noiki e piny Samaria gi ruodhi mag Israel.
Jehoash slept with his ancestors, and Jeroboam sat on his throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14 Kane Elisha tuo gi tuo mane biro nege, Jehoash ruodh Israel nodhi nene moywage niya, “Wuora! Wuora isebedonwa kaka geche lweny kod joidh farese mag Israel!”
Now Elisha became sick with an illness by which he later died, so Jehoash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over him. He said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen are taking you away!”
15 Eka Elisha nowachone niya, “Kaw atungʼ kod aserni moko,” kendo notimo kamano.
Elisha said to him, “Pick up a bow and some arrows,” so Joash picked up a bow and some arrows.
16 Eka nowachone ruodh Israel niya, “Kaw atungʼ e lweti.” Kane osekawo atungʼno, Elisha noketo lwetene kuom lwete ruoth.
Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow,” so he put his hand on it. Then Elisha laid his hands on the king's hands.
17 Elisha nokone niya, “Yaw dirisa mochomo yo wuok chiengʼ,” minoyawe. Bangʼ mano nokone niya, “Dir asere.” Kane osediro asere, Elisha nokone niya, “Mano asech loch Jehova Nyasaye kendo onyiso adier ni ibiro loyo jo-Aram modak Afek.”
Elisha said, “Open the window eastward,” so he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!”, and he shot. Elisha said, “This is Yahweh's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram, for you will attack the Arameans in Aphek until you have consumed them.”
18 Eka nowachone niya, “Kaw aserni kendo ruoth nokawo asernigo.” Elisha nokone niya, “Chwo asernigo piny, mine otimo kamano nyadidek bangʼe oweyo.”
Then Elisha said, “Take the arrows,” so Joash took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground with them,” and he struck the ground three times, then stopped.
19 Elisha ngʼat Nyasaye nokecho kode mowacho niya, “Nonego ichwogi piny nyadibich kata nyadiuchiel; eka dine iloyo jo-Aram mitiekogi chuth, to sani to ibiro loyogi mana nyadidek kende.”
But the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have hit the ground five or six times. Then you would have attacked Aram until you annihilated it, but now you will attack Aram only three times.”
20 Elisha notho moike. E ndalogo jolwenj Moab nohero monjo pinyno e ndalo mag chwiri.
Then Elisha died, and they buried him. Now groups of Moabites invaded the land at the beginning of the year.
21 Chiengʼ moro kane jo-Israel yiko ngʼato, negipo ka gineno wasigu kabiro, mi negibolo ringre ngʼatno e bur mane oike Elisha. Kane ringre ngʼatno olwar e choke Elisha, nopo ka chunye odwogo mochungʼ gi tiendene.
As they were burying a certain man, they saw a group of Moabites, so they threw the body into Elisha's grave. As soon as the man touched Elisha's bones, he revived and stood up on his feet.
22 Hazael ruodh Aram ne osando jo-Israel ndalo duto mag loch Jehoahaz.
Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
23 To Jehova Nyasaye notimonegi ngʼwono, kech kod miwafu koparo singruok mane otimo gi Ibrahim, Isaka kod Jakobo. To nyaka chil kawuono Jehova Nyasaye pok obedo gi paro mar tiekogi kata riembogi e wangʼe.
But Yahweh was gracious to Israel, and had compassion on them and concern for them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So Yahweh did not destroy them, and he still has not driven them away from his presence.
24 Hazael ruodh Aram notho kendo Ben-Hadad wuode nobedo ruoth kare.
Hazael king of Aram died, and Ben Hadad his son became king in his place.
25 Eka Jehoash wuod Jehoahaz noduogo mier mane oyudo Ben-Hadad wuod Hazael nosemayo Jehoahaz wuon mare e lweny. Jehoash noloyo Ben-Hadad nyadidek e lweny mine odwoko miergo duto e lwet jo-Israel.
Jehoash son of Jehoahaz took back from Ben Hadad son of Hazael the cities that had been taken from Jehoahaz his father by war. Jehoash attacked him three times, and he recovered those cities of Israel.
