< 1 Jo-Thesalonika 2 >

1 Un uwegi ungʼeyo, owetewa, ni limbe mane walimougo ne ok obedo kayiem nono.
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance to you, that it was not in vain:
2 Mana kaka ungʼeyo, noyudo osesandwa kendo oyanywa e dala mar Filipi to kata kamano Nyasaye nomiyowa chir mar yalonu Injili mare e dier lweny gi akweda mager.
But even after we had suffered before, and were shamefully treated, as ye know, at Phillippi, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God with much contention.
3 Chutho, ok wahomb ji gi weche mag miriambo kata gi weche mowuok e paro mochido. Bende ok wan gi paro malingʼ-lingʼ mar wito ji.
For our exhortation [was] not from deceit, nor from impurity, nor in guile;
4 To wawuoyo kaka joma Nyasaye owuon ema opwodho kendo oyiego kaka jorit Injili. Ok watem mondo wabed malongʼo ne dhano, to wadwaro ni wabed malongʼo mana ne Nyasaye ma nono chunjewa.
But as we were allowed by God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who trieth our hearts.
5 Ungʼeyo maber ni kane wayalonu to ne ok wakonyore gi weche malombou mondo wawuondgo wangʼu, kendo Nyasaye en janeno marwa ni ne ok wapando gombo malingʼ-lingʼ e chunywa mondo wamau gigeu!
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God [is] witness:
6 Ne ok wadwar pak moa kuom dhano, bed ni gin un kata ji mamoko. Kaka joote mag Kristo, ne wanyalo miyou tingʼ mapek,
Nor from men sought we glory, neither from you, nor [yet] from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
7 to kar timo mano to ne wadoko mamuol e dieru mana kaka min nyithindo rito nyithinde ma pod tindo.
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
8 Ne waherou gihera matut momiyo ne wamor, ok mana mar pogo kodu Injili mar Nyasaye kende, to koda ka ngimawa bende, nikech ne wagenou gi genruok maduongʼ.
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear to us.
9 Adier unyalo paro, jowetewa, kaka ne wanyagore kendo watiyo matek, ne watiyo odiechiengʼ gotieno mondo kik wami ngʼato angʼata tingʼ mapek e kinde mane wadak kodu ka wayalonu Injili mar Nyasaye.
For ye remember, brethren, our labor and toil: for laboring night and day, because we would not be chargeable to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
10 Un uwegi un joneno, kaachiel gi Nyasaye bende, kaka ne wadak e dieru ka ngimawa ler kendo nikare, kendo ka waonge ketho e kindu un joma oyie.
Ye [are] witnesses, and God [also], how holily, and justly, and unblamably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
11 Ungʼeyo kaka ne wakonyo ngʼato ka ngʼato kuomu mana kaka wuoro konyo nyithinde owuon,
As ye know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children,
12 kwajiwou kendo wahoyou kendo wasiemou mondo kit ngimau mapile obed malongʼo ne Nyasaye moseluongou e pinyruodhe kod duongʼ mare.
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you into his kingdom and glory.
13 Bende wadwokone Nyasaye erokamano kinde duto nikech kane wakelonu Wach Nyasaye, to nuwinje murwake, ok ka wach dhano, to nurwake ka Wach Nyasaye adier mana kaka en. Wachno koro chopo dwaro Nyasaye e ngimau, un joma oyie.
For this cause also we thank God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard from us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but (as it is in truth) the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
14 Owetewa, gik mosetimorenu chal gi gik mane osetimore ni kanisa mar jo-Nyasaye man kuom Kristo Yesu e piny Judea, nimar ne usandoru e lwet ogandau mana kaka gin bende negisandore e lwet jo-Yahudi wetegi.
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things from your own countrymen, even as they [have] from the Jews:
15 Jo-Yahudigo ema nonego Ruoth Yesu kod jonabi mag-gi, kendo gin ema ne giriembowa oko. Ok gilongʼo ne Nyasaye kendo gimon gi ji duto,
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
16 ka gitemo gi tekregi duto mondo gitamwa yalo Injili ne joma ok jo-Yahudi mondo oyud warruok. Kuom tim ma gitimoni, gimiyo richogi medore ameda kendo mirimb Nyasaye koro osejukogi!
Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
17 Jowetewa, kane ochunowa ni nyaka wawere kodu kuom kinde machwok (ne wapogore mana e ringruok to ok kuom chuny), omiyo siso mane wan-go mar chako limou osemiyo watemo gi yore duto mondo waneu wangʼ gi wangʼ.
But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
18 Ne wasedwaro gamingʼa mondo wabi walimu, to moloyo an Paulo ne atemo matek to Satan ne omona.
Wherefore we would have come to you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
19 Koso uparo ni gin ngʼa gini mwakwano kaka genowa gi morwa, kata kaka osimbo marwa ma wanasungrego e nyim Ruoth Yesu Kristo koduogo? Donge en un?
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
20 Chutho, un e duongʼwa gi morwa!
For ye are our glory and joy.
