< 1 Samuel 7 >

1 Jo-Kiriath Jearim nobiro mokawo Sandug Muma mar Jehova Nyasaye. Ne gitere e od Abinadab mane ni e got, kendo negiwalo Eliazar ma wuode mondo orit Sandug Muma mar Jehova Nyasaye.
The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took the LORD’s ark, and brought it into Abinadab’s house on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the LORD’s ark.
2 Sandug Muma nobudho Kiriath Jearim kuom higni piero ariyo, jo-Israel duto nokuyo mi odok ir Jehova Nyasaye.
From the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, the time was long—for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
3 Kendo Samuel nowachone jo-Israel duto niya, “Ka udwogo ir Jehova Nyasaye gi chunyu duto, to goluru nyiseche mag jopinje mamoko ma un-go kod mag Ashtoreth, to chiwreuru ni Jehova Nyasaye kendo en kende ema utine, mi noresu kogolou e lwet jo-Filistia.”
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from amongst you, and direct your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”
4 Omiyo jo-Israel nogolo mowito nyisechegi mag Baal gi mag Ashtoreth; mine gitiyo ne Jehova Nyasaye kende.
Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 Eka Samuel nowacho niya, “Chokuru jo-Israel duto Mizpa, anto abiro lemo ka akwayonu Jehova Nyasaye.”
Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you.”
6 Kane gisechokore kanyakla Mizpa ne giumbo pi mi gipuko e nyim Jehova Nyasaye. Odiechiengno negitweyo chiemo ka gihulo richo kagiwacho niya, “Waseketho e nyim Jehova Nyasaye.” Kendo Samuel nobedo jatend Israel e piny Mizpa.
They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the LORD.” Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Kane jo-Filistia owinjo ni jo-Israel nosechokore Mizpa, ruodhi mag jo-Filistia nobiro mondo omonjgi. To kane jo-Israel owinjo wachno, luoro nomakogi.
When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 Negiwachone Samuel niya, “Kik iwe ma ok ikwayonwa Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachwa mondo omi oreswa e lwet jo-Filistia.”
The children of Israel said to Samuel, “Don’t stop crying to the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.”
9 Eka Samuel nokawo nyarombo ma pod dhoth mi ochiwo ka misango miwangʼo pep ni Jehova Nyasaye. Noywak ni Jehova Nyasaye e lo jo-Israel, mi Jehova Nyasaye ne odwoke.
Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him.
10 Kane Samuel pod chiwo misango miwangʼo pep, jo-Filistia noyworo machiegni mondo oked gi jo-Israel. To chiengʼno Jehova Nyasaye nomiyo polo omor matek kuom jo-Filistia manomiyogi luoro ma gikee ka gikia kuma gidhiye, kendo negiringo e nyim jo-Israel.
As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines came near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
11 Jo-Israel nowuok Mizpa molawo jo-Filistia ma ginegogi e yo nyaka Beth-Kar.
The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them until they came under Beth Kar.
12 Eka Samuel nokawo kidi mochungo e kind Mizpa gi Shen. Nochake ni Ebeneza kowacho niya, “Jehova Nyasaye osekonyowa nyaka ka.”
Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “The LORD helped us until now.”
13 Omiyo jo-Filistia nolo mine ok gichako gimonjo piny jo-Israel kendo. E kinde duto mane Samuel pod ngima, lwet Jehova Nyasaye nosando jo-Filistia.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped coming within the border of Israel. The LORD’s hand was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 Mier mane jo-Filistia omayo jo-Israel kochakore Ekron nyaka Gath nodwoknegi, Israel noreso gwenge mane okiewo kode koa e loch jo-Filistia. Kendo kwe nobedo e kind Israel gi jo-Amor.
The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its border out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel nobedo jangʼad bura e piny Israel e ndalo duto mag ngimane.
Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 Higa ka higa nolworore koa Bethel nyaka Gilgal gi Mizpa kongʼado bura ne jo-Israel kuonde duto.
He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
17 To kinde duto ne odokga Rama, kuma dalane ne nitie, kanyo bende ne ongʼadoe bura ne jo-Israel. Ne ogero kendo mar misango ne Jehova Nyasaye kanyo.
His return was to Ramah, for his house was there, and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to the LORD there.
