And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As YHWH, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except by my word."

So he got up and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, look, a widow was there gathering wood. And he called to her, and said, "Please bring me a little water in a pitcher, that I may drink."
11 Kane odhi kelo pi, Elija noluonge mowachone niya, “Kendo kiyie, to kelna kuon matin.”

He cried to YHWH, and said, "YHWH my God, have you also brought disaster on the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?"
21 Eka noriere kuom wuowino nyadidek moywak ni Jehova Nyasaye niya, “Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasacha yie ngima wuowini oduogne!”

22 Jehova Nyasaye nowinjo ywak Elija mi ngima wuowino noduogone mi nobedo mangima.

And the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of YHWH in your mouth is the truth."
