1 Ruodhi 15

1 E higa mar apar gaboro mar loch Jeroboam wuod Nebat, Abija nobedo ruodh Juda,

And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;

2 kendo norito piny kuom higni adek kodak Jerusalem. Min mare ne nyinge Maaka nyar Abishalom.

he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

3 Notimo richo duto mane wuon otimo kendo chunye ne ok ochiwore chuth ni Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasache, kaka chuny Daudi kwargi ne en.

and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;

4 To kata kamano nikech Daudi, Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasache nomiye taya Jerusalem koyiero wuode mondo okaw lochne kendo oket Jerusalem obed motegno.

but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

5 Nikech Daudi notimo gima kare e nyim Jehova Nyasaye kendo ne ok oweyo ma ok omako chik Jehova Nyasaye moro amora e ndalo ngimane duto makmana e wach Uria ja-Hiti.

in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

6 Lweny ne nitie e kind Rehoboam gi Jeroboam e kinde duto mar ngima Abija.

and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 To timbe mamoko mag loch Abija kaachiel gi gik moko duto mane otimo, donge ondikgi e kitepe mag weche mag ndalo mar ruodhi mag Juda? Ne nitie lweny e kind Abija kod Jeroboam.

And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;

8 Kendo Abija notho kaka kwerene kendo noyike e Dala Maduongʼ mar Daudi. Asa wuode nobedo ruoth kare.

and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.

9 E higa mar piero ariyo mar loch Jeroboam ruodh Israel, Asa nobedo ruodh Juda,

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,

10 kendo nobedo ruoth Jerusalem kuom higni piero angʼwen gachiel. Dagi niluongo ni Maaka nyar Abishalom.

and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

11 Asa notimo gima kare e nyim Jehova Nyasaye mana kaka Daudi wuon mare notimo.

And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,

12 Noriembo chwo ma jochode mag kuonde lemo modarogi e pinye kendo noketho nyiseche manono mane kweregi oloso.

and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;

13 Bende nogolo dagi ma Maaka e kome mane entie kaka min ruoth nikech noloso sirni milamo mar Ashera. Asa nongʼado yien-no mowangʼe e holo mar Kidron.

and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;

14 Kata obedo ni Asa ne ok oketho kuonde motingʼore malo mag lemo, chunye nochiwore chutho ni Jehova Nyasaye ndalo duto mag ngimane.

but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,

15 Nokelo gige dhahabu gi fedha kod mula e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye ma en owuon gi wuon mare nosepwodho.

and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Ne nitie lweny e kind Asa kod Baasha ruodh Israel ndalo duto mag lochgi.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,

17 Baasha ruodh Israel nodhi kedo kod Juda kendo nochielo Rama motegno mondo ogengʼ ni ngʼato angʼata kik wuogi kata donji e piny Asa ruodh Juda.

and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

18 Eka Asa nokawo fedha gi dhahabu duto mane odongʼ e ute keno mag hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye gi mago mag ode. Nomiyogi jodonge mi oorogi ir Ben-Hadad wuod Tabrimon ma wuod Hezion ruodh Aram manodak Damaski.

And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

“A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”

20 Ben-Hadad noyie gi ruoth Asa kendo nooro jotende mag lweny mondo omonj mier matindo mag Israel. Noloyo Ijon gi Dan gi Abel Beth Maaka kod Kinereth duto kaachiel gi Naftali.

And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

21 Kane Baasha owinjo mano, nochungo gero Rama modok Tirza.

and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.

22 Eka ruoth Asa nochiwo chik ni Juda duto maonge ngʼato angʼata mane owe oko, negikawo kite duto kod yiende mane Baasha osebedo katiyogo Rama kendo notiyo kodgi kanyo. Asa notiyo kodgi kuom gero Geba e piny Benjamin kod Mizpa bende.

And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 Weche mamoko duto mag loch Asa, gi lochne, gi gigo duto mane otimo gi mier duto mane ogero donge ondikgi e kitepe mag ruodhi mag Juda? Kata kamano ka hike noseniangʼ tiende nobedo gituo.

And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

24 Eka Asa noyweyo gi kwerene kendo noyike kodgi e dala Daudi wuon mare. Kendo Jehoshafat wuode nobedo ruoth kare.

and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.

25 Nadab wuod Jeroboam nobedo ruoth mar Israel e higa mar ariyo mar loch Asa ruodh Juda, kendo nobedo ruodh Israel kuom higni ariyo.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,

26 Notimo richo e nyim Jehova Nyasaye, kowuotho e yor wuon mare kod richone mane omiyo Israel otimo.

and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

27 Baasha wuod Ahija ja-dhood Isakar nomonje mi nogoye monege e Gibethon e dala jo-Filistia ka Nadab kod jo-Israel duto ne dwaro monjo dalano.

And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—

28 Baasha nonego Nadab e higa mar adek mar loch Asa ruodh Juda, kendo nokaw lochne kaka ruoth.

indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.

29 Mapiyo piyo kochako locho, nonego jood Jeroboam duto. Ne ok oweyo ni Jeroboam kata ngʼato achiel mayweyo to notiekogi kaluwore gi wach Jehova Nyasaye mane omiyo jatichne Ahija ja-Shilo;

And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 nikech richo mane Jeroboam otimo kendo mane omiyo Israel otimo, kendo nikech nomiyo Jehova Nyasaye Nyasach Israel obedo gi mirima.

because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.

31 To kuom mamoko mag loch Nadab kaachiel gi timbene duto donge ondiki e kitepe mag ruodhi mag Israel?

And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

32 Ne nitie lweny e kind Asa kod Baasha ruodh Israel ndalo duto mag lochgi.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.

33 E higa mar adek mar loch Asa ruodh Juda, Baasha wuod Ahija nodoko ruoth kuom Israel duto e Tirza kendo nobedo ruoth kuom higni piero ariyo gangʼwen.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,

34 Notimo richo e nyim Jehova Nyasaye, kowuotho e yore mag Jeroboam kod richone mane omiyo Israel otimo.

and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
