1 Jo-Korintho 1

1 An Paulo, moluongi mondo obed jaote mar Kristo Yesu kaluwore gi dwaro mar Nyasaye kaachiel kod owadwa Sostheno,

Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, to the church of God which is in Corinth,

2 Wandikonu un kanisa mar Nyasaye man Korintho, ma un joma osepwodhi ei Kristo Yesu, kendo moseluongi mondo obed jomaler kaachiel gi ji mamoko duto man kamoro amora maluongo nying Ruodhwa Yesu Kristo, ma en Ruodhgi kendo Ruodhwa:

even to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, and called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is both their Lord and ours;

3 Ngʼwono gi kwe moa kuom Nyasaye Wuonwa kod Ruoth Yesu Kristo obed kodu.

grace and peace be to you from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Adwokone Nyasacha erokamano kinde duto kuomu, nikech ngʼwonone mosemiyou kuom Kristo Yesu.

I always give thanks unto my God, on your account, for the grace of God bestowed on you in Christ Jesus; that ye are enriched by Him with every gift,

5 Nimar kuome usebedo momew e yore duto kuom weche ma uwacho kod ngʼeyo ma un-go,

in all utterance and knowledge;

6 nikech nendwa kuom Kristo nosir e dieru.

(even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed among you; )

7 Kuom mano, ok uremo mich moro amora mar Roho kuritogo odiechiengʼ ma Ruodhwa Yesu Kristo nofwenyree.

so that ye are deficient in no gift, expecting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 En bende obiro ritou mondo ubed motegno nyaka giko, mondo omi ubed maonge bura chiengʼ mar Ruodhwa Yesu Kristo.

who will also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;

9 Nyasaye moseluongou mondo ubedi e lalruok gi Wuode Yesu Kristo Ruodhwa en ja-adiera.

for God is faithful by whom ye were called into the communion of his son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 Jowetena, asayou e nying Ruodhwa Yesu Kristo, mondo un duto uwinjru ngʼato gi ngʼato. Kik pogruok moro amora bedi e kindu, to beduru kuriworu maonge pogruok, ka un gi dwaro achiel kod paro achiel.

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye would all say alike, and that there may be no schisms among you, but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same judgement.

11 Jowetena, jood Kloe moko osekelona wach ni nitie dhawo e dieru.

For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you.

12 Tiend gima awacho chal kama: Ngʼat moro kuomu wacho niya, “An ngʼat Paulo,” to ngʼat machielo to wacho niya, “An ngʼat Apolo,” machielo bende oramo niya, “An ngʼat Kefa,” to moro wacho niya, “An ngʼat Kristo.”

I mean, that each of you saith, as if of different parties, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

13 Kristo dipogre nyadi di? Paulo bende nogur e msalaba nikech un? Koso nuyudo batiso e nying Paulo?

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

14 Adwoko erokamano ne Nyasaye ni ne ok abatiso ngʼato kuomu kata achiel makmana Krispo gi Gayo,

I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius:

15 omiyo onge ngʼama nyalo wacho ni noyudo batiso e nyinga.

so that no one can say I baptized in my own name.

16 (Ee, jood Stefano bende ne abatiso, to ok apar ni ne abatiso ngʼat machielo mokalo mano.)

I also baptized indeed the family of Stephanas: but I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 Nikech Kristo ne ok oora mondo abatis ji, to noora mondo ayal Injili, ok gi weche mamit mag rieko dhano, nono to dipo ka msalap Kristo obedo tekone.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in fine speech, least the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

18 Wach msalaba en fuwo ni joma lal, to ni wan joma iwaro, en teko Nyasaye,

For the doctrine of the cross is to them, that perish, foolishness: but to us, who are saved, it is the power of God.

19 nikech ondiki niya, “Abiro ketho rieko joma riek; kendo ngʼeyo mar joma riek abiro keyo nono.”

For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

20 Ere ngʼama jarieko? Ere japuonj chik? Ere jatwak molony moloyo e pinyni? Donge Nyasaye osemiyo rieko mar pinyni odoko fuwo? (aiōn g165)

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputant of the age? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)

21 Nyasaye nochano gi riekone ni piny ok nyal ngʼeyo Kristo gi riekone owuon, to nochano mana ni kuom fuwo mar wach mwalandoni ema owarogo joma oyie.

For, since in the wisdom of God the world by it's wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by what they called the folly of preaching to save those that believe.

22 Jo-Yahudi dwaro ni nyaka timnegi honni, to jo-Yunani to manyo rieko,

And whereas the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks look for wisdom, we preach Christ crucified;

23 to wan wayalo Kristo mane ogur, ma en kidi machwanyo jo-Yahudi kendo en fuwo ni joma ok jo-Yahudi.

to the Jews indeed a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness; but to them that are called,

24 To kuom ji duto ma Nyasaye oseluongo, bed ni gin jo-Yahudi kata jo-Yunani, Kristo en teko Nyasaye kendo en rieko Nyasaye.

both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 Nikech fup Nyasaye riek moloyo rieko dhano, kendo nyawo mare otegno moloyo teko dhano.

Because the foolishness of God, as they call it, is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 Jowetena, parieuru kaka nuchal kane Nyasaye oluongou. Ji mathoth kuomu ne ok joma riek, kipimou gi rieko dhano, bende ji mathoth kuomu ne ok joma rahuma kata joma oa e koth ruodhi.

For ye see by your calling, brethren, that not many wise men according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called:

27 To Nyasaye noyiero gima ofuwo mag piny mondo okuodgo wi joma riek. Nyasaye noyiero bende gik manyap mag piny mondo okuodgo wi joma rateke.

but God hath chosen things that are foolish in the eye of the world to put it's wise men to confusion; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty;

28 Nyasaye noyiero gik ma piny ochayo kendo manono mondo otiekgo gik ma jopiny kwano ni lich.

and things in the opinion of the world ignoble, and despicable, and accounted as nothing, hath God chosen, to abolish things that are in esteem among men;

29 Notimo kamano mondo kik ngʼato osungre e nyime.

that no flesh may glory in his presence.

30 En e chakruok mar ngimau ei Kristo Yesu, mane obedonwa rieko moa kuom Nyasaye, tiende ni tim makare, pwodhruok, kod resruok.

But ye are of Him in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 Emomiyo, mana kaka ondiki niya, “Ngʼat ma sungore mondo osungre kuom Jehova Nyasaye.”

that, as it is written, He that glorieth may glory in the Lord.
