Now these, are they who came unto David, to Ziklag, he yet being shut up, because of Saul son of Kish, —and, they, were among the heroes, helpers in the war;

3 Jogi ne gin: Ahiezer ma jatendgi gi Joash owadgi ma yawuot Shema ja-Gibea, kod Jeziel gi Pelet yawuot Azmaveth; Beraka gi Jehu jo-Anathoth,
the chief, Ahiezer, and Joash, sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite, and Jeziel and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth, —and Beracah, and Jehu the Anathothite;
4 gi Ishmaya ja-Gibeon, ngʼat maratego kuom thuondi piero adek, ma bende ne en jatelo mar thuondi piero adek, kod Jeremia gi Jahaziel gi Johanan gi Jozabad ma ja-Gedera,
and Ishmaiah, the Gibeonite, a hero among the thirty, and over the thirty, —and Jeremiah and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Jozabad, the Gederathite;
5 gi Eluzai gi Jerimoth gi Bealia gi Shemaria gi Shefatia ja-Haruf;
Eluzai and Jerimoth and Bealiah and Shemariah, and Shephatiah, the Haruphite;
6 kod Elkana gi Ishia gi Azarel gi Joezer kod Jashobeam ja-Kora,
Elkanah and Isshiah, and Azarel, and Joezer and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
7 kod Joela gi Zebadia yawuot Jeroham ja-Gedor.
and Joelah and Zebadiah, sons of Jeroham, of Gedor.

And, of the Gadites, there separated themselves unto David, to the stronghold towards the desert, heroes of valour, men of war, for battle, men that could handle shield and spear, —and, faces of lions, were their faces, and, like gazelles upon the mountains, were they, for swiftness:

Ezer, the chief, Obadiah, the second, —Eliab, the third;

Mashmannah, the fourth, Jeremiah, the fifth;
11 Atai mar auchiel, Eliel mar abiriyo,
Attai, the sixth, Eliel the seventh;
12 Johanan mar aboro, Elzabad mar ochiko,
Johanan, the eighth, Elzabad, the ninth;
13 Jeremia mar apar, to Makbanai mar apar gachiel.
Jeremiah, the tenth, Machbannai, the eleventh.
14 Joka Gad-gi ne gin jotend jolweny, ma ngʼat matin kuomgi ne ipimo gi ji mia achiel, to maduongʼ kuomgi to ne ipimo gi ji alufu achiel.
These, were of the sons of Gad, chiefs of the host, —one to a hundred, the least, and, the greatest, to a thousand.
15 Gin ema negingʼado aora Jordan e dwe mokwongo kane aora opongʼ moo ma gimiyo jogo mane odak e holo oringo matek kadhi wuok chiengʼ to moko podho chiengʼ.
These, are they who passed over the Jordan, in the first month, when, it, was full, over all its banks, —and they put to flight all them of the vales, to the east and to the west.
16 To joka Benjamin mamoko gi jo-Juda mamoko bende nobiro ir Daudi e kare mar pondo.
And there came, of the sons of Benjamin, and Judah, as far as the stronghold, unto David.
17 Daudi nodhi moromo nigi kendo nowachonegi niya, “Ka ubiro ira gi kwe mondo ukonya, to aikora mondo ariwra kodu, to ka ubiro mondo undhoga ne wasika kata obedo ni lweta onge remo, to Nyasach kwerewa ema obed jangʼadnu bura.”
And David went forth to meet them, and responded, and said to them, If, peaceably, ye are come unto me, to help me, I shall have towards you, a heart for unity, —but, if to betray me to mine adversaries, there being no violence in my hands, may the God of our fathers see and rebuke!

Then, the spirit, clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, Thine, O David, Yea, with, thee, O son of Jesse! Prosperity, prosperity to thee, And prosperity to thy helpers, For thy God, hath helped thee: So David accepted them, and set them among the chiefs of the band.
19 Kane Daudi odhi Filistia mondo giked gi Saulo, jo-Manase moko noweyo Saulo moriwore gi Daudi. Daudi to gi joge ne ok okonyo jo-Filistia nimar ka jotendgi ne osewuoyo kendgi negiriembe kagiwacho niya, “Onyalo negowa ka dipo ni odok ir ruodhe Saulo.”
And, of Manasseh, there fell away unto David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they helped them not, —for the lords of the Philistines advisedly sent him away, saying, At the price of our heads, he might fall away to his master, Saul.
20 Joka Manase mane odok ir Daudi koa ir Saulo mane odhi Ziklag ne gin: Adna, Jozabad, Jediael, Mikael, Jozabad, Elihu kod Zilethai mane jotend jolweny alufu achiel kuom joka Manase moro ka moro.
When he went into Ziklag, there fell away unto him, of Manasseh, Adnah and Jozabad, and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad, and Elihu and Zillethai, —chiefs of the thousands that pertained to Manasseh;
21 Negikonyo Daudi kuom joma ne monje nikech giduto ne gin jolweny mathuondi, kendo ne gin jotelo mag lweny.
and, they, helped with David, against the [marauding] band, for, heroes of valour, were they all, —and they became captains in the host;
22 Odiechiengʼ kodiechiengʼ ji ne medo biro ir Daudi mondo okonye, nyaka nobedo gi jolweny mangʼeny machalo gi jolweny mag Nyasaye.
for, from day to day, there came unto David, to help him, —until it was a great camp, like a camp of God.
23 Magi e romb ji mane oikore ne kedo mane obiro ir Daudi Hebron mondo okaw pinyruodh Saulo mane omiye mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosewacho:
And, these, are the numbers of the chiefs armed for war, they came unto David, to Hebron, —to turn round the kingdom of Saul unto him, according to the bidding of Yahweh:
24 joka Juda, mane otingʼo kuodi gi tonge ne gin ji alufu auchiel gi mia aboro mane oikore ne lweny;
Sons of Judah, bearers of shield and spear, six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
25 joka Simeon ne gin ji alufu abiriyo gi mia achiel mano oikore ne lweny,
Of sons of Simeon, heroes of valour for the war, seven thousand, and one hundred.
26 joka Lawi ne gin ji alufu angʼwen gi mia auchiel,
Of the sons of Levi, four thousand, and six hundred.
27 Jehoyada mane en jatelo mar anywola mar joka Harun ne nigi ji alufu adek gi mia abiriyo,
And Jehoiada, was chief ruler for Aaron, —and, with him, three thousand and seven hundred;
28 Zadok, ma en wuowi mathuon ne nigi jotelo piero ariyo gariyo moa e anywolane;
and Zadok, a young man, a hero of valour, —and the house of his father, captains twenty and two.
29 joka Benjamin, ma gin jo-dhoodgi Saulo ne gin ji alufu adek ma thothgi nosebedo koyie gi od Saulo nyaka kindeno;
And, of the sons of Benjamin, brethren of Saul, three thousand, —and, hitherto, the greater part of them, had been keeping the charge of the house of Saul.
30 joka Efraim, ma gin jolweny mathuondi kendo mane rahuma e dhoodgi ne gin ji alufu piero ariyo gi mia aboro,
And, of the sons of Ephraim, twenty thousand, and eight hundred, —heroes of valour, men of renown, to their ancestral house.
31 nus mar joka Manase mane owal mondo obi kendo giket Daudi ruoth ne gin ji alufu apar gaboro;
And, of the half tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, who were distinguished by name, coming in to make David king.
32 joka Isakar mane obedo gi rieko kuom gima timore kendo nongʼeyo gima jo-Israel onego otim ne nigi jotelo mia ariyo koriw gi anywolagi mane gitelonegi;
And, of the sons of Issachar, such as were of good understanding of the times, to know what Israel, should do, their chiefs, were two hundred, and, all their brethren, were at their bidding.
33 joka Zebulun ma gin jolweny molony kendo moikore ni kedo gi gige lweny mopogore opogore mondo omi gikony Daudi gi chuny achiel ne gin ji alufu piero abich;
Of Zebulun—such as were ready to go forth in host, expert for battle with all weapons of war, fifty thousand, —and for setting in array, not of two minds!
34 joka Naftali ne nigi jotelo alufu achiel kaachiel gi ji alufu piero adek gabiriyo motingʼo kuode kod tonge;
And, of Naphtali, a thousand captains, —and, with them, with shield and spear, thirty-seven thousand.
35 joka Dan mane oikore ni kedo ne gin ji alufu piero ariyo gaboro gi mia auchiel;
And, of the Danite, expert for war, twenty-eight thousand, and six hundred.
36 joka Asher, ma gin jolweny molony kendo moikore ni kedo ne gin ji alufu piero angʼwen;
And, of Asher, such as were ready to go forth in host to set in array for battle, forty thousand.
37 kendo koa yo wuok chiengʼ mar Jordan, joka Reuben, joka Gad kod nus mar dhood joka Manase ma gin jogo moikore gi gige lweny mopogore opogore noromo ji alufu mia achiel gi piero ariyo.
And, from over the Jordan, of the Reubenites and Gadites and half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of weapons of war for battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Jolwenygi duto nochiwore mondo giti kode. Negibiro Hebron ka gingʼado e chunygi ni Daudi nyaka bed ruodh jo-Israel duto. To jo-Israel mamoko bende ne nigi paro achiel mondo Daudi oket ruoth.
All these, being men of war, expert in setting in battle-array, with a perfect heart, came to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel, —moreover also, all the rest of Israel, were of one heart to make David king.
39 Jogi nobedo gi Daudi ndalo adek ka gichiemo kendo metho nikech jowetegi noseikonigi gik moko.
So they were there, with David, three days, eating and drinking, —for their brethren had made preparation for them.
40 Bende joma nokiewo kodgi koa ka joka Isakar, joka Zebulun nyaka ka jo-Naftali nobiro kotingʼo chiemo e punde, ngamia, pundane kod rwedhi. Negikelo gik moko mangʼeny machalo mogo, olembe mag ngʼowu gi mag mzabibu motwo mongʼin gi divai, gi mo, dhok kaachiel gi rombe nikech ne nitiere mor e Israel.
Moreover also, they who were near of kin unto them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing bread, on asses and on camels and on mules and on oxen, meal-food, cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep—in abundance, —for there was joy Israel.
