ଜଅନ୍ 4
Now when Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard, “Jesus is making and baptizing more disciples than John”
(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples),
3 ୩ ତାର୍ ବିସଇ ନେଇ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ଏନ୍ତାରି କାତା ଅଇବାଟା ସୁନି, ଜିସୁ ଜିଉଦା ରାଇଜ୍ ଚାଡିକରି ଆରି ତରେକ୍ ଗାଲିଲି ଦେସେ ଉଟିଗାଲା ।
He left Judea and went away into Galilee.
Now He needed to go through Samaria;
5 ୫ ଆରି ଜାକୁବ୍ ତାର୍ ନିଜର୍ ପିଲା ଜସେପ୍କେ ଜନ୍ ଜାଗା ଦାନ୍ ଦେଇରଇଲା, ସେ ଲଗେ ସମିରଣ୍ ଗଡର୍ ଗଟେକ୍ ସୁକାର୍ ନାଉଁର୍ ଜାଗାଇ ଜିସୁ ଆସି କେଟ୍ଲା ।
so He comes to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 ୬ ସେ ଜାଗାଇ ଜାକୁବର୍ ଗଟେକ୍ କୁଇସାଲ୍ ରଇଲା । ଜିସୁ ଇଣ୍ଡି ଇଣ୍ଡି ତାକି ଜାଇକରି କୁଇସାଲ୍ ଲଗେ ବସି ରଇଲା । ସେବେଲା ଟିଆମୁଇଦାନ୍ ଅଇରଇଲା ।
Now Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, being worn out from the journey, sat as He was by the well. It was about 6 p.m.
7 ୭ ଗଟେକ୍ ସମିରଣିୟ ମାଇଜି କୁଇସାଲେ ପାନି ନେବାକେ ଆଇଲା । ଆରି ଜିସୁ ସେ ମାଇଜିକେ କଇଲା, “ଏ ମା ମକେ ଗୁଡିକ୍ ପାନି କାଇବାକେ ଦେ ।”
A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, “Give me a drink.”
(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 ୯ ତେଇ ସମିରଣିୟ ମାଇଜି କାବାଅଇ ଜିସୁକେ କଇଲା, “ତୁଇ ଗଟେକ୍ ଜିଉଦି ଲକ୍ ଆରି ମୁଇ ଗଟେକ୍ ସମିରଣିୟ, ତୁଇ କେନ୍ତି ମର୍ ଆତର୍ ପାନି କାଇବାକେ ମାଙ୍ଗ୍ଲୁସ୍ନି?” କାଇକେ ବଇଲେ, ଜିଉଦି ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ସମିରଣିୟ ଲକ୍ମନର୍ କାଇବାତେଇ ନ କାଇତେ ରଇଲାଇ ।
So the Samaritan woman says to Him, “How can you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, being a Samaritan woman?” (for Jews do not associate with Samaritans).
10 ୧୦ ଜିସୁ ତାକେ କଇଲା, “ପର୍ମେସର୍ ଦେବା ଦାନର୍ ବିସଇ, ତୁଇ ଅଲପ୍ ଆଲେ ଜାନି ରଇଲେ ଆରି ମୁଇ କେ ବଲି ଜାନ୍ତୁସ୍ ବଇଲେ ମକେ ମାଙ୍ଗ୍ତୁସ୍ । ଆରି ମୁଇ ତକେ ଜିବନ୍ ଦେବା ପାନି ଦେଇତି ।”
Jesus answered and said to her: “If you knew the gift of God, and who is the one saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
11 ୧୧ ମାଇଜି କଇଲା, “ଆଗିଆଁ, ତମର୍ ଲଗେତା ପାନି ଜିକ୍ବାକେ ବାଲ୍ଟିନାଇ, ଆରି ଏ କୁଇସାଲ୍ ବେସି ଡେଙ୍ଗ୍ ଆଚେ । କନ୍ତିଅନି ତମେ ଜିବନ୍ ଦେବା ପାନି ମିଲାଇସୁ?
The woman says to Him: “Sir, you don't even have a bucket, and the well is deep; so where do you get this living water?
12 ୧୨ ତୁଇ କାଇ ଆମର୍ ଆନିଦାଦି ଜାକୁବର୍ତେଇ ଅନି ବଡ୍ କି? ଜାକୁବ୍ ଆମ୍କେ ଏ କୁଇସାଲ୍ ଦେଇରଇଲା । ସେ ନିଜେ ମିସା ଏ କୁଇସାଲର୍ ପାନି କାଇତେରଇଲା । ତାର୍ ଗରର୍ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ଆରି ସେ ପସିରଇଲା ଗରୁଗାଇମନ୍ ଇତିର୍ ପାନି କାଇଲାଇ” ବଲି କଇଲା ।
You aren't greater than our father Jacob, are you? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.”
Jesus answered and said to her: “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
15 ୧୫ ସେ ମାଇଜି ଜିସୁକେ କଇଲା, “ଏ ଆଗିଆଁ ମକେ ସେ ପାନି ଦେ, ଜେନ୍ତିକି କେବେ ମିସା ମକେ ସସ୍ ନ ଲାଗ ଆରି ମୁଇ ଏତେକ୍ ଦୁର୍ ପାନି ନେବାକେ ନ ଆସି ।”
The woman says to Him, “Sir, give me this water! so that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
Jesus says to her, “Go, call your husband and come back here.”
17 ୧୭ ସେ ମାଇଜି “ମକେ ମୁନୁସ୍ ନାଇ” ବଲି କଇଲା । ଜିସୁ ତାକେ କଇଲା, “ମକେ ମୁନୁସ୍ ନାଇ ବଲି ସତ୍ କାତା କଇଆଚୁସ୍ ।
The woman answered and said, “I don't have a husband.” Jesus says to her: “You stated correctly that you do not have a husband,
18 ୧୮ କାଇକେ ବଇଲେ ତର୍ ପାଁଚ୍ଟା ମୁନୁସ୍ ରଇଲାଇ ଆରି ଏବେ ତୁଇ ଜନ୍ ଲକର୍ ସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଆଚୁସ୍, ସେ ମିସା ତର୍ ମୁନୁସ୍ ନଏଁ । ଏଟା ସତ୍ କଇଆଚୁସ୍ ।”
because you have had five husbands, and the one you have now is no husband of yours. You spoke the truth there!”
The woman says to Him: “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
20 ୨୦ ଆମର୍ ସମିରଣିୟ ଆନିଦାଦିମନ୍ ପର୍ମେସର୍କେ ଏ ଡଙ୍ଗ୍ରେ ଉପାସନା କର୍ତେ ରଇଲାଇ । ମାତର୍ ତମେ ଜିଉଦି ଲକ୍ମନ୍ କଇଲାଇନି ଜିରୁସାଲମ୍ସେ ପର୍ମେସର୍କେ ଉପାସନା କର୍ବା ଟିକ୍ ଜାଗା ।”
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, while you (pl) say that the place where one must worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 ୨୧ ଜିସୁ ତାକେ କଇଲା, “ଏ ମାଆ ମର୍କାତା ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କର୍ । ଏନ୍ତାରି ବେଲା ଆଇଲାନି ତମେ ପର୍ମେସର୍କେ ଏ ଡଙ୍ଗ୍ରେ କି ଜିରୁସାଲାମେ ମିସା ଉପାସନା ନ କରାସ୍ ।
Jesus says to her: “Woman, believe me, a time is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
22 ୨୨ ତମେ ସମିରଣ୍ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ଜାକେ ଉପାସନା କଲାସ୍ନି ତାକେ ସତଇସେ ନାଜାନାସ୍ । ମାତର୍ ଆମେ ଜିଉଦି ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ତାକେ ଜାନିକରି ଉପାସନା କଲୁନି । କାଇକେ ବଇଲେ ମୁକ୍ତି ଜିଉଦି ଲକ୍ମନର୍ ତେଇଅନି ଆଇସି ।
You [Samaritans] worship what you do not know; we [Jews] worship what we do know, because the salvation is from the Jews.
23 ୨୩ ବେଲା ଆଇଲାନି ଆରି ସେ ବେଲା କେଟ୍ଲାବେ, ଜେଡେବେଲା କି ସୁକଲ୍ଆତ୍ମାର୍ ବପୁସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଲକ୍ମନ୍, ବାବା ପର୍ମେସର୍କେ ନିକସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଚିନ୍ବାଇ । ସେବେଲେ ସେମନ୍ ତାକର୍ ମନେ ସତ୍ସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଉପାସନା କର୍ବାଇ । ସେନ୍ତି ଉପାସନା କର୍ବା ଲକ୍ମନ୍କେ ବାବା ମନ୍ କଲାନି ।
But the time is coming, in fact now is, when the genuine worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Really, because the Father is looking for such people to worship Him.
24 ୨୪ ପର୍ମେସର୍ ଅଇଲାନି ଆତ୍ମା । ଆରି ଜନ୍ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ତାକେ ଉପାସନା କଲାଇନି, ସେମନ୍ ସତ୍ସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଆତ୍ମାଇ ଉପାସନା କର୍ବାର୍ଆଚେ ।”
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 ୨୫ ସେ ମାଇଜି କଇଲା, “ମୁଇ ଜାନି, ମସିଅ ଜାକେ କି କିରିସ୍ଟ ବଲ୍ବାଇ । ସେବେଲାଇ ଆସି ଆମ୍କେ ସବୁ ବିସଇ ବୁଜାଇ ଦେଇସି ।”
The woman says to Him: “I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes He will explain everything to us.”
Jesus says to her, “I am He, the one who is talking with you!”
27 ୨୭ ସେବେଲା ଜିସୁର୍ ସିସ୍ମନ୍ ଗଡେଅନି ବାଉଡି ଆଇଲାଇ । ଜିସୁ ଗଟେକ୍ ମାଇଜିସଙ୍ଗ୍ କାତା ଅଇବାଟା ଦେକି କାବାଅଇଗାଲାଇ । ମାତର୍ ତାକେ କେ ମିସା ତୁଇ କାଇକେ ତାର୍ ସଙ୍ଗ୍ କାତା ଅଇଲୁସ୍ନି, କି କାଇ ବିସଇ ତମେ କାତା ଅଇତେ ରଇଲାସ୍? ବଲି ପାଚାର୍ବାକେ ସାଆସ୍ କରତ୍ନାଇ ।
At that point His disciples arrived, and they were amazed that He was talking with a woman; yet no one said, “What do you want?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
28 ୨୮ ତାର୍ ପଚେ ସେ ମାଇଜି ତାର୍ ଆଣ୍ଡିର୍ ପାନି, ତେଇ ଚାଡିକରି ସଅର୍ ବିତ୍ରେ ଉଟିଗାଲା ଆରି ଜାଇକରି ସବୁ ଲକ୍ମନ୍କେ କଇଲା,
So the woman left her water jar, went her way into the town, and says to the men:
29 ୨୯ “ଆସା ଗଟେକ୍ ଲକ୍କେ ଦେକ୍ସା । ଆଗେ ମୁଇ ଜାଇଜାଇଟା କରିରଇଲି, ସେ ସବୁ କାତା ସେ ମକେ କଇଦେଲା । ସେ ପର୍ମେସର୍ ବାଚି ପାଟାଇଲା ରାଜା ମସିଅ ଅଇଲେ ଅଇରଇସି କାଇକି ।”
“Come see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Messiah?”
So out they went from the town and started toward Him.
Now in the meantime the disciples were urging Him saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
33 ୩୩ ସେଟାର୍ ପାଇ ସିସ୍ମନ୍ ନିଜର୍ ନିଜର୍ ବିତ୍ରେ କୁଆବଲା ଅଇଲାଇ, “ତାର୍ପାଇ କେ କାଦି ଆନିଦେଲାଇ ଆଚତ୍ କି?”
So the disciples started saying to one another, “Could someone have brought Him something to eat?”
34 ୩୪ ଜିସୁ ସେମନ୍କେ କଇଲା, “ମକେ ପାଟାଇରଇବା ପର୍ମେସର୍ ମନ୍କଲାଟା ମାନିକରି ଆରି ସେ ଦେଇରଇବା କାମ୍ ପୁରାପୁରୁନ୍ କର୍ବାଟାସେ ମର୍ କାଦି ।
Jesus says to them: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to complete His work.
35 ୩୫ ଚାରି ମାସ୍ ଗାଲେ କାଟାବେଟା ଦିନ୍ ଆଇସି ବଲି ତମେ କଇତେରଇସା । ମାତର୍ ମୁଇ ତମ୍କେ କଇଲିନି କେତ୍ମନ୍କେ ନିକ କରି ଦେକିଦେକା । ଏବେ ତେଇର୍ ତାସ୍ ପାଚିଗାଲା ଆଚେ ଆରି କାଟ୍ବା ବେଲା ସମାନ୍ ଅଇଲା ଆଚେ ।
Do you not say, ‘There are four months before the harvest comes?’ Well I say, Look! Lift your eyes and observe the fields; they are white for harvest already!
36 ୩୬ ଏବେ ମିସା ଜନ୍ ଲକ୍ ତାସ୍ କାଟ୍ଲାନି ତାକେ ବୁତି ଦିଆ ଅଇଲାନି, ସେ ନ ସାର୍ବା ଜିବନର୍ ପାଇ ତାସ୍ ଟୁଲିଆଇଲାନି । ସେଟାର୍ ପାଇ ବୁନ୍ଲା ଲକ୍ ଆରି କାଟ୍ବା ଦୁଇ ଲକ୍ଜାକ ମିସି ସାର୍ଦା କର୍ବାଇ । (aiōnios g166)
Now he who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit into eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
Now the saying, ‘One is the sower and another the reaper,’ is true in this:
38 ୩୮ ତମେ ଜନ୍ତି ବୁନି ନ ରଇଲାସ୍ ତେଇ କାଟ୍ବାକେ ପାଟାଇଆଚି । ବିନ୍ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ କାମ୍କଲାଇ ଆରି ତମେ ସେମନ୍ କଲା କାମେଅନି ଲାବ୍ ପାଇଲାସ୍ନି ।”
I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labors.”
39 ୩୯ ସେ ସଅରର୍ କେତେକ୍ କେତେକ୍ ସମିରଣିୟମନ୍ ଜିସୁକେ ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କଲାଇ । କାଇକେବଇଲେ, ସେ ମାଇଜି ସେମନ୍କେ କଇରଇଲା । ଆଗେ ମୁଇ ଜାଇଜାଇଟା କରିରଇଲି, ସେ ସବୁ କାତା ସେ ମକେ କଇଦେଲା ।
Now many of the Samaritans from that city believed into Him because of the word of the woman, testifying that “He told me everything I ever did!”
40 ୪୦ ଆରି ସମିରଣିୟ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ଜିସୁର୍ ଲଗେ ଆସି ତାର୍ ସଙ୍ଗ୍ କେତେ ଦିନ୍ ରଇବାକେ ଗୁଆରି କଲାଇ, ସେଟାର୍ପାଇ ସେ ତେଇ ଦୁଇ ଦିନ୍ ରଇଲା ।
So when the Samaritans came to Him they urged Him to stay with them; and He did stay there two days.
Many more believed through His own word,
42 ୪୨ ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ସେ ମାଇଜିକେ କଇଲାଇ, “ତୁଇ କଇଲାକେ ଆମେ ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କରୁନାଇ, ଆମେ ନିଜେ ତାର୍ କାତା ସୁନି କରି ଏ ଆକା ଦୁନିଆର୍ ରକିଆକରୁ ବଲି ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କଲୁ ।”
and they kept saying to the woman, “It is not just because of what you said that we believe, because we ourselves have heard Him, and we know that this One is truly the Messiah, the Savior of the world!”
So after the two days He departed from there and went on into Galilee.
44 ୪୪ ଆରି ଗଟେକ୍ ବବିସତ୍ବକ୍ତା ନିଜର୍ ଦେସେ ସନ୍ମାନ୍ ନ ପାଏ ବଲି ଜିସୁ ଆଗ୍ତୁସେ ତାର୍ ସିସ୍ମନ୍କେ କଇରଇଲା ।
(For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet does not have honor in his own country.)
45 ୪୫ ସେଟାର୍ପାଇ ସେ ଜେଡେବେଲା ଗାଲିଲି ଦେସେ କେଟ୍ଲା, ସେବେଲା ଲକ୍ମନ୍ ଆଲାଦ୍ ସଙ୍ଗ୍ ଡାକିନେଲାଇ । କାଇକେବଇଲେ ଆଗେ ଜିରୁସାଲାମେ ନିସ୍ତାର୍ ପରବ୍ଟାନେ ସେମନ୍ ସେ କରିରଇବା କାମ୍ ସବୁ ଦେକିରଇଲାଇ ।
So when He came into Galilee the Galileans welcomed Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem, at the festival; for they too had gone to the festival.
46 ୪୬ ଜିସୁ ଗାଲିଲିର୍ କାନା ନାଉଁର୍ ଗଡେ ଆରି ତରେକ୍ ଗାଲା । ସେ ଗଡେସେ ପାନି ଅଙ୍ଗୁର୍ ରସ୍ କରିରଇଲା । ତେଇ ରମିଅ ସାସନ୍କାରିଆର୍ ଗଟେକ୍ ମୁକିଅ ଲକର୍ ପଅ କପର୍ନାଉମେ ଜର୍ ଅଇରଇଲା ।
So Jesus went again to Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine. Now there was a certain royal official whose son was sick in Capernaum.
47 ୪୭ ଜିସୁ ଜିଉଦାଇ ଅନି ଗାଲିଲି ଆଇଲା ଆଚେ ବଲି ସୁନିକରି ଜର୍ ଅଇଲା ପିଲାର୍ ବାବା ତାର୍ ଲଗେ ଗାଲା । ମର୍ବା ସମାନ୍ ଅଇରଇବା ପିଲାକେ ନିମାନ୍ କର୍ବାକେ କପର୍ନାଉମେ ଜୁ ବଲି ଜିସୁକେ ଜୁଆର୍ ବିଆର୍ କଲା ।
When this man heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
48 ୪୮ ଜିସୁ ତାକେ କଇଲା, “ତମେ କାବା ଅଇଜିବାଟା ଆରି କେବେ ନ ଅଇଲା ପାରା କାମର୍ ଚିନ୍ମନ୍ ନ ଦେକ୍ଲେ କେବେ ମିସା ମକେ ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ ନ କରାସ୍ ।”
So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders you will not believe!”
The official says to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”
50 ୫୦ ଜିସୁ ତାକେ କଇଲା, “ଏବେ ତୁଇ ତର୍ ଗରେ ଜା, ତର୍ ପିଲା ଜିବନ୍ ଅଇଗାଲାବେ ।” ସେ ଲକ୍ ଜିସୁ କଇରଇବା କାତା ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କରି ବାଉଡିଗାଲା ।
Jesus says to him, “Go; your son lives.” Well the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and off he went.
51 ୫୧ ସେ ଗରେ ଗାଲାବେଲେ ତାର୍ କେତେଟା ଗତି ଦାଙ୍ଗ୍ଡାମନ୍ ତାକେ ବେଟ୍ପାଇକରି, “ତର୍ ପିଲା ନିମାନ୍ ଅଇଲାବେ” ବଲି କଇଲାଇ ।
Now while he was still going down his slaves met him and reported saying, “Your son lives!”
52 ୫୨ ସେ ଲକ୍ ତାର୍ ଗତିଦାଙ୍ଗ୍ଡାମନ୍କେ ପାଚାର୍ଲା, “ପିଲା କେଡେବେଲେ ନିମାନ୍ ଅଇଲା?” ଗତିଦାଙ୍ଗ୍ଡାମନ୍, “କାଲି ଗଁଟେ ବେଲେ ନିମାନ୍ ଅଇଲା” ବଲି କଇଲାଇ ।
So he inquired of them the hour in which he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
53 ୫୩ ଜିସୁ ଟିକ୍ ସେବେଲାସେ ତର୍ ପିଲା ନିମାନ୍ ଅଇଲାବେ ବଲି କଇରଇଲାଟା ସେ ମୁକିଅ ଲକ୍ ମନେପାକାଇଲା । ସେଟାର୍ପାଇ ସେ ଲକ୍ ଆରି ତାର୍ ଗରର୍ ସବୁ ଲକ୍ ଜିସୁକେ ବିସ୍ବାସ୍ କଲାଇ ।
So the father knew that it was at the exact hour in which Jesus told him, “Your son lives.” Both he himself and his whole household believed.
Again, coming out of Judea into Galilee, Jesus performed this second miraculous sign.
