Salme 29

1 (En salme af David.) Giver HERREN, I Guds Sønner, giver Herren Ære og Pris,

A Psalm of David [on the occasion] of the solemn assembly of the Tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, you sons of God, bring to the Lord young rams; bring to the Lord glory and honor.

2 giver HERREN hans Navns Ære; tilbed HERREN i helligt Skrud!

Bring to the Lord glory, [due] to his name; worship the lord in his holy court.

3 HERRENs Røst er over Vandene, Ærens Gud lader Tordenen rulle, HERREN, over de vældige Vande!

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory has thundered: the Lord is upon many waters.

4 HERRENs Røst med Vælde, HERRENs Røst i Højhed,

The voice of the Lord is mighty; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

5 HERRENs Røst, den splintrer Cedre, HERREN splintrer Libanons Cedre,

[There is] the voice of the Lord who breaks the cedars; the Lord will break the cedars of Libanus.

6 får Libanon til at springe som en Kalv og Sirjon som den vilde Okse!

And he will beat them small, [even] Libanus itself, like a calf; and the beloved one is as a young unicorn.

7 HERRENs Røst udslynger Luer.

[There is] a voice of the Lord who divides a flame of fire.

8 HERRENs Røst får Ørk til at skælve, HERREN får Kadesj's Ørk til at skælve!

A voice of the Lord who shakes the wilderness; the Lord will shake the wilderness of Cades.

9 HERRENs Røst får Hind til at føde, og den gør lyst i Skoven. Alt i hans Helligdom råber: "Ære!"

The voice of the Lord strengthens the hinds, and will uncover the thickets: and in his temple every one speaks [of his] glory.

10 HERREN tog Sæde og sendte Vandfloden, HERREN tog Sæde som Konge for evigt.

The Lord will dwell on the waterflood: and the Lord will sit a king for ever.

11 HERREN give Kraft til sit Folk, HERREN velsigne sit Folk med Fred!

The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
